I was a die hard fan of Maybelline Blush Brush in Sweetheart Rose; I was shocked a few months ago when I walked into my local Boots store and found that Blush Brush was no more... it had been replaced by these spacey looking tiny blushers.
This is when the panic set in... I absoloutely cannot live without my blusher; so I thought "what the heck" and bought a new Pure Blush for £4.99. I chose "Pure Rose"; looking at it now it's a pretty putrid bright pink but the choice was so limited- there was a very pale pink which I thought would be barely noticable and the rest were brown in colour.
The packaging is just like Maybelline's new eyeshadows; it has A screw top which allows acces to the blush itself and then you can slide the bottom open and ta-da a pretty feeble attempt at a brush is hiding underneath. It's a handy package if you're short of handbag space but reminds me of child's play makeup. There is also a mirror included in the packaging which is pretty handy but to see your entire cheek in it you have to stand about 5 feet away from it. Not good.
Now for the real test; the application. I used the brush which was provided the first time I used it and came out looking like a clown. The brush is impossible for blending so you end up using your fingers or another brush anyway; I like blush to look natural, that glowing look- not like stage makeup. The colour itself is weird... it's not a natural rosey pink like my other blushers, it's more of a barbie pink; something I could see my 5 year old niece using when she's dressing up with. It's also quite a think powder; you have to put more than one coat on and it's hard to get it just right; not too much and not too little.
I've used this product once and vow never to buy it again; I've switched to Rimmel, Botanics and Loreal as they have blushers which are versatile and pretty. I haven't tried Pure Blush in the brown/tan colours, these may be better but I'd advise strongly against "Pure Rose".
Overall, it's more of a gimmick with the all in one small packaging but even the gimmick wears off once you get tired of having to unscrew and twist; it's annoying.
Not very impressed at all. Maybelline have let me down here..

Just peachy!
Review of Maybelline Pure Blush by
Oblivia
Advantages: Pretty colours, cute packaging, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Impractical brush, tends to fade as the day goes on
...on, when I came across Maybelline Pure Blush in Silky Peach. A lovely peachy shade that's ideal for pale-skinned girls like myself. The blusher comes in a plastic silver pot with a clear lid that you screw off. To access the brush and mirror, you simply find the arrow on the side and twist the container open. The mirror is an ok size, but the brush is tiny and I don't reccommend you use it, unless you favour the red indian look! The shade is chose ... ...as it's a mid-peach shade with just the tiniest bit of shimmer. They also do other shades in pinks and browns. On checking all over the pot, I can't find anything that says how much you get. The blush itself has a pretty, floral scent to it, that's very subtle.
I apply this with a large, fluffy brush to the apples of my cheeks for a healthy glow. But always remember to tap the excess off the brush before you apply it or you might have the 80s heavily ...

Average price, Average Quality!
Review of Maybelline Pure Blush by

Advantages: price is ok, compact packaging
Disadvantages: re-application is often needed, brush provided is useless,+more!
..."Well, it's not great, but Maybelline products are normally good quality", and so used my Boots points to buy the bright-ish pink shade. It cost me £4.99, but there was no-where on the pot that told me how much product I was getting.
When I did get 'round to using this blusher, I noticed that it was easy to open, a simple twist and you get the blusher. Also included is a TINY mirror, which I found useless, and a brush (again TINY). Unless you like ... ...re-application. I would usually recommend Maybelline products, but this has let me down a bit!

Cost reflects Quality
Review of Maybelline Pure Blush by
Frayed
Advantages: Good for tiny handbags
Disadvantages: Needs constant reapplication
...Not good. Reapplication is essential constantly, which explains the packaging really. Pure Blush disappointed me, especially considering it's a Maybelline product. I wouldn't use it again and I wouldn't recommend it. It's cheapish at around £4.99 but there are cheaper more successful blushers out there. Not worth it. ...
