Advantages: Huge amount of space
Disadvantages: Costs a lot of money to fill it!

...I purchased a white LG American side by side fridge freezer at christmas time 2002. I was in the process of moving house and I had arranged with the company I purchased from to deliver to my new address. I had checked the dimensions of the item and decided that it would fit through the back doorway without packaging. To gain access to the back door I had to go through a gate with a 6ft wall attached, yes you guessed it, the gate was too narrow and so, up over the wall it had to go. I feel that I should mention the 2 delivery men who according to one of them 'Lifting this over a 6ft wall in not in his job description', and promptly left. It took 6 people to do the job. The LG has a built-in ice maker (cubes & crushed) and water dispenser with a filter. Depending on how often the dispenser is used the filter should last... Read review

...everywhere if you don't get the glass positioned just right but these are minor niggles and not something I'm worried about. If you are considering a side by side fridge like this you should be aware that these are very big and heavy appliances and it will be a two man delivery which usually costs more. It is highly likely that the doors will have to be removed to get the appliance into your house. You need to ensure that there is plenty of space around so that it can be manouevred into place. Once it's in it can be moved very easily as it has wheels, but it's a huge appliance to get into position initially. Do I recommend it? Wholeheartedly. This fridge and freezer saw us through Christmas and New Year with all the inevitable extras and leftovers and there was still room for a beer or two. Cheers!... Read review

Advantages: Good capacity for small family, no frost or condensation on interior walls.
Disadvantages: Freezer compartments quite tight for large items like pizza's etc

...This is a great fridge freezer for a small family. Our family is two adults and a child, and it copes very well with the weekly shop, although can be pretty packed. Starting at the top, from the outside, there are six buttons at the very top of the machine, three to either side of the digital display. The first on the left is the power button, which as you would imagine is used for switching the whole thing on and off. This is however an 'electronic' on/off switch therefore there will still be power going to the device if you don't switch off at the socket. One thing we noticed with these buttons is that they can quite easily be pushed 'in' and end up further back behind the facia than they should be. A gentle touch is all that is required!
