I have had the Maytag for nearly two years now. I bought it to match with new appliances in my refitted kitchen.
The machine holds a lot, more than our previous model. It was so quiet that when we first used it we didn't think it was working! It is easy to use, with lots of programmes. It has a low salt and low rinse aid indicator.
It has an economy programme as well as all the usual programmes that you would expect for a top of the range dishwasher.
About a year ago it suddenly started tripping the electric off and we needed to get an engineer. I bought the machine on line and I looked up Maytag and phoned them, they then arranged for a firm of engineers to send someone round. The engineer arrived, tried the dishwasher but it was fine, so said he couldn't do anything but let Maytag know if it happened again. He noticed the fascia was cracked and arranged to order a new one of those. As soon as he had gone we loaded the dishwasher and put it on - bang - off went the electric.
We rang Maytag again and we had an engineer come who didn't know about dishwashers so couldn't do anything, the one who came before came back and managed to reproduce the fault but didn't know what to do so had to go back to base then consult Maytag and finally he fitted a new element. The dishwasher worked fine until a week ago when it tripped the electricity again, we tried it to see if it was definately that and it was so back to Maytag who contacted the engineers and the engineer came. The dishwasher tripped the electric when he tried it first but he ran a programme again and it was fine and hasn't done it since. I am not too happy with this state of affairs as it will soon be out of it's two year warranty, and could be costly if it continuously does this so I am going to contact Maytag and let them know I am not happy and see what they will do about it.
I am only giving it 4 start because of the intermittant fault and the price. I think I would recommend it, pending what happens next with this fault!
