Maytag Neptune

It was an inauspicious beginning to the New Year. My old reliable washing machine quit in mid rinse cycle, leaving me high and dry (and my clothes soggy wet). The obvious solution, of course, was to call a repair service and have the thing fixed. My top loading Hoover of 20 years ( yes I am not given to changing appliances or brands because they get old or out of fashion) but she was losing water from her overflow pipe. The repairman, nice chap, young but knew his machines and he loved Hoovers, especially my model (and he had the similar model himself, which he is feathering along) so he was ahead in ticks already.
