Why did I buy a Mazda Premacy? Good question, and the answer is that I needed a vehicle that gave me plenty of carrying space (having a 19 year old daughter at university), hence the three rear seats can be removed in any combination. Also, as I am 6 feet 2 inches tall, and my two daughters are over 5 feet 9 inches tall, I needed plenty of rear seat leg room, which the premacy has. With the air conditioning, good ride and fuel consumption, as well ... ...lot going for it. But the downside, is the absolute crap seat fabric (brushed nylon feel like your granny's night dress!) huge amounts of plastic all over the dashboard, in our car in dard gray (yuck, puke) and the vehicle wasn't cheap to buy (though I haggled with the dealer over some 5 weeks and got a serious discount).
Why did I still buy it after the above bad points? Well you try and find a better vehicle that offers that amount of space ... more

With the air conditioning, good ride and fuel consumption, as well as a meaty hi-fi system as standard, it has a lot going for it. Why did I still buy it after the above bad points? Well you try and find a better vehicle that offers that amount of space and comfort. Any way, my wife drives it mostly as I drive a Triumph Stag!
We have had this car for almost 4 years and bought it new from the dealer. In that time the only problem we have encountered is the brakes pads being pitted (we only do about 4k miles per year and were told this was the reason). The seating system is adequate, however, newer models on the market with seven seats seem to have more room and better flexibility. The 2 additional seats in the boot space are really only designed for children or small adults ... ...we were using a rear facing child seat in the middle set of seats that the seatbelt locked and had to be wound all the way back in before it could be released again, not very handy when you are trying to secure a child when the weather is awful.
All in all this is a very reliable car and although it may not be the best looking on the market it is very practical and economical. ...
