Advantages: Lots of headroom for tall people. Lots of lugguage space. Disadvantages: Lugguage screen does not completely hide what is in the boot.

I also like the fact that the back door ... ...you have lots of shopping, as you can have the door closed and start stacking the bags on top of each other without fear of anything falling out the car.
The back seats also fold down to give you so much more space. I easily transported a tall fridge freezer to the skip in the back of my Tribute.

This is handy when you have lots of shopping, as you can have the door closed and start stacking the bags on top of each other without fear of anything falling out the car.

Fuel consumption is reasonable too. I worked out that during normal driving around town i was getting around 27 miles per gallon. However, i do have the 2 wheel drive version so please remember the 4 wheel drive will be more expensive to run.
Air conditioning comes as standard. The CD player was an optional extra for me, but it comes as standard in all the higher spec models.
The window wipers have an adjustable timer which alters the time between wipes when on intermittent mode.
The only little gripe i have with the car is the fact that the luggage screen does not completely hide what is in the boot.

Quick review of Mazda Tribute 2.0
Hi,
I own the 2.0 litre, 4 x 4 petrol model.
On average I get 25 mpg and that is actual driving the car not tootling along.
On the motorway 70, cruise control, easy driving.
I have just driven over 300 miles to find a 4 x 4 to replace it as it is now 3 years old and I have not found one that equals it for legroom ( not length, but room to spread your knees apart), shoulder room, visibility or comfort.
I have eliminated the Toyota Rav4, Nissan x trail, Grand Vitara, Quashqoi all around the £20 K mark.
I was however impressed by the Fiat Sedici 4 X 4, not what you would call a real 'offroader' but with a selectable four wheel drive system, engineered by Suzuki it was a spacious alternative, with 1.9 diesel economy.
All the models I tried seem to be sacrificing interior space for technology. It may be OK if you are a 10 stone technology junkie but for a 21 stone bloke like me, no thanks.
I am going to wait till 2008/9 for the new Tribute to hit the UK and I hope they have not altered the interior too much.
The faults...
There is no low range gearbox.
The drivers seat is at a slight angle which I rectified by skewing the seat, on the runners, offsetting it by one notch, easy done.
There is a fair bit of front wing dip on hard corners, I have practically worn off the outside edges on the front tyres in 21K miles.
One thing that really impressed me was the braking system.
I had one chance to overtake a slow moving tractor.
I was in a 60 limit but there was a 40 about 200yrds in front.
I dropped down to 3rd, up to around 70, round the tractor and down to 40 again.
Under heavy breaking the steering handled like a dream, full control all the way, no steering back pressure, nothing!!
It actually felt as though I was on rails, it was that positive a feeling.
I must admit I was so impressed buy it I was telling everyone how it had handled the manoeuvre.
Lastly the power, it will slog up a hill without having to keep going up and down the gears but when you need acceleration the power is there, ready, waiting in abundance ...

Quick review of Mazda Tribute 2.0
My '02 Tribute has all the attributes of a car twice the price. 4WD, ABS, Cruise Control, Air Con, to name but a few. It has a huge load capacity and it tows like a dream. On a long run (not towing it regularly manages 28mpg around town less obviously. The 4Wd drive facility can be switched on and off from the dash and was extremely useful on boggy camp sites last summer.
