I have recently had experience of two Mazda dealerships. One has been superb, the staff were friendly, knowledgable and didn't hard give me the hard sell. The other, well a little bit dodgy, might be the best way to describe them.
My husband and I wanted to buy an MX-5 and we test drove one, signed the paperwork and turned up to collect it. All that was required was a couple more signatures on the finance, which we had been quoted for at 7.5% (extremely good!). Imagine my surprise when the finance form has 16.4 APR printed on it in big letters!!! This wasn't the only problem. If you are spending £11 500 on a car from a registered dealer I don't think its unreasonable to have a service history........ the dealers couldn't locate the one for our car when we turned up, but said that by the time we came back they'd have located it.
We went home, spoke to the bank, who agreed a loan and were ready to collect the car the following day. Imagine my distress when 4 days later they finally confess that there is no service history for this car!!
Thank god we didn't take possession of the car!!! With no service history the car would have been almost impossible to sell on. I reckon they knew the whole time and were hoping we wouldn't make it a condition of sale! The dealer told me, that he no longer wanted the car and would be sending it back to the supplier. I might pop by in a fortnight as I'd lay money on it being back on the forecourt!!
How disappointing is that?

Advantages: Very quick, good looking car, 4-seater sports car, comfortable on short and long journeys Disadvantages: uses fair amount of oil, poor reversing vision, road holding on snow and ice poor
