...Apart from a curious name, this is a top rank anti-virus software suite for your PC. I have been using anti-virus software for more years than I can remember (old age does that) and have used most major ones. I have been using McAfee for the last 5 years or so over 3 different versions. Virus protection has become much more serious these days as we rely more on PCs and the internet and you *must* have some sort of anti-virus software on your PC. *TIP* never connect to the internet without this sort of software installed and active. Currently I protect my home PCs with this product (and we use the same vendor at work too). I do not use the firewall or spam products as I have other provision for these. ...I have used many virus software in the passed. I have had a some crap one believe me with them . I have been using McAcfee software now for around 6 weeks. It updates it self and i don't have to do anything. It scans my in coming mail and out going mail for any virus's. I use the net everyday some times 12 hours or more. My PC is always down loading and always on the net .I have had no virus's and no problem with this software it runs all on its own in the back ground . If a virus try's and gets in a window pops up and tells me that it as cleaned or deleted. There is no need to keep scaring your PC for virus or unwanted programs. Myself i check every week as well just to be on the save side. But really there is no need as this software dose it for you . I also have the option to scan my files if a virus's as be deleted . I... Disadvantages: I wish i didn't need one

...I have tried several Antivirus packages from freebies to norton and to date McAfee has proved to be quite effective. Price: I paid £29.99 for my version 8 on the high street following a severe infection onmy laptop last year. This appears to be a par price for Antivirus software these days be it Norton, Panda or McAfee. I guess that £29.99 to £39.99 is to be expected my biggest problem is the need to renew on a yearly basis. I assumed that the Auto updates would keep me protected, apparently not!
