Year after year the McCoy's brand is being bought by more and more people, around 5 million packets are consumed in each week, that is about 8 packets per second with means nearly a third of all UK households are enjoying the brand. Apparently MC.Coys crisps are a male targeted crisp brand, but I will have to disagree there, as I am a female and they are certainly aimed at me and my mouth every once in a while!!!!!!
MC.COYS CRISPS FLAVOURS:
This review is based only on Salt & Malt Vinegar Mc.Coys flavour Crisps, which are my personal favourite, but there are also another six flavours which include: Flame Grilled Steak, Firecracker Chicken, Cheddar & Onion, Spiced Chilli, Rock Salt and Balti Curry. All of these flavours include the original and new spice variety flavours of McCoy's crisps.

The taste of Salt & Malt Vinegar Mc.Coys flavour Crisps is absolutely mouthwateringly, taste bud expolosively, divine!!!! There is a gorgeous rich vinegar flavour which is not too strong, mixed with a slight ,moist sensational salt! When the thick and crispy crisp is chewed they really do taste like a creamy potato chip in your mouth! The rich, amazing flavour lasts til the very end of this amazingly tasty experience! If you put one onto your tongue the flavour melts down onto your tastebuds and you literally are in another world, totally amazing!! They are very hunger satisfying, great for a snack or even as a treat! My mouth is filling with water right now thinking of them!!!

The smell of Salt & Malt Vinegar Mc.Coys flavour Crisps is absolutely gorgeous, a rich aroma of top quality vinegar and salt mixed together with potato, filling your nostrils with an aura of heaven! The smell alone can make your mouth fill with water!!!!!!!
SALT & MALT VINEGAR MC.COYS CRISPS, THE PACKING:
The Mc.Coys single packets of Crisps come in 50g smooth foil packets. The packets are wider than all other brands' single packets of crisps I have ever seen. The design of the packet is very nice, blue's, gold's and brown colours with a classy Mc.Coys label written largely across the front. On the front it says "The Real Mc.Coys, Ridge cut Potato Chips, Accept No Imitations". On the back are the ingredients, nutritional information and contact information. Mc.Coys crisps also come in multi - packs of 6 in a pack in assorted flavours or the flavour of your choice. All in all, a very easy to open, stylish and classy pack!
VALUE FOR MONEY:
The Mc.Coys single packets of Crisps cost 40p each, they are a good sized pack and there are plenty in there to fill, so yes deffinetley 100% great value for money! The multi pack of 6 cost around £1.29, so that that means they would only cost around 21.5p each in a multipack. So why not try a single pack first and if you love them which I know you will!, save yourself some money in the long run and pick up a multi pack!
WHERE TO GET THEM FROM:
Everywhere! all the biggest supermarkets to small shops like Spar, Londis, Co - op and your local newsagents so they are available everywhere, single and multi packs!

Advantages: Full of flavour, extra chunky Disadvantages: Single packs are expensive, no prawn cocktail flavour!
I must admit to being a bit of a savoury snack eater. I not really a chocolate sort of girl and Crisps are definitely my weakness, especially McCoys.
About McCoys
McCoys crisps are made by KP Snacks who also produce Hula Hoops and Skips.
McCoys first started in 1985 and over 20 years later they are still going strong. Their caption is 'Accept No Imitations' which is usually written on the crisp packet. Packaging
McCoy crisps come in a gold foil ... ...is various colour depending on what flavour you have i.e., green is cheese and onion, blue is salt and vinegar.
As I already mentioned these packets are foil so the crisps are very fresh and crunchy, just like crisps should be.
Price
I usually buy my McCoys from Tesco and here a multipack of 6 costs £1.34. You can also get a multipack of 12 for £2 so I think they are fairly well priced considering the way they taste! These crisps are much more ...

Advantages: fulfilling snack, great taste Disadvantages: hard to the soft pallet
...not help seeing the real McCoy's multi~pack on special offer at £1.29. Getting fed up with the missing "solid" food in my daily lunchbox I bought two multi~packs.
Each multi~pack contained twelve 35g packets, 4 salt & malt vinegar, 4 cheddar & onion and 4 flame grilled steak.
Now, my intentions were good, but I no longer have a nicotine addiction as it has been replaced by a snack addiction, so as you may have guessed only two packets from the ... ...but now, with The Real McCoy's one packet and a glass of cranberry juice is enough to keep me going until 1am.
They are not refered to as crisps by manufacturer KP but "potato chips" and the name "The Real McCoy's" is a the registered trade mark of United Biscuits (U.K.) Limited. The chips themselves are very thick and chunky, "Ridge Cut" being basically thick crinkle cut. They are quite hard and buscuity which if you try to eat too rapidly or you ...

Advantages: nice thick crisps Disadvantages: bad for you, can be too salty tasting
When you fancy a savoury snack, a packet of crisps is just the thing. I’m not a big Walkers crisps fan (bar the Worcester sauces flavour ones which are gorgeous), so I tend to go for McCoy’s, which are made by KP, as they are the next easiest thing to get hold of.
The packet I happen to be scoffing now is the Rock Salt flavour (i.e. ready salted), but they come in four basic flavours. The other three are Salt and Malt Vinegar, Flame ... ...Salt and Vinegar ones, but I haven’t tried the other two as, unfortunately they are not suitable for vegetarians. There is also a ‘Spice’ range which has Firecracker Chicken, Spiced Chilli, and Balti Curry flavours. Not really my cup of tea, but they may well be quite nice.
The packaging for McCoy’s crisps is very distinctive. They come in a shiny gold foil packet with the McCoy’s logo one the front – white writing ...

Advantages: Taste nice. Disadvantages: Fattening as usual.
I must admit, I thought these were just going to be another bag of crisps! And in many ways they are! They both come in a plastic packet. They’re both made of potato. They’re both stuffed to the gills with calories.
Yes! Essentially, they’re just another bag of crisps. But they are exceedingly nice! If you like crisps that is!
The packet is gold effect with McCOY’S emblazoned across the front. Above it is written ‘The Real’, as in ‘the real McCoy’. ... ...a mere crisp manufacturer could have attained such dizzying heights of wit! But wait! It gets better! Underneath is written, ‘accept no imitations’! Get it! ‘The real McCoy’ means the genuine article, and so ‘accept no imitations’ means only go for the genuine article, or to put it another way, the real McCoy! Hee hee hee! How I laughed! For those of you unfamiliar with my sense of humour, that was sarcasm! After the above, it suddenly doesn’t seem ...

...crisps made by people like McCoy's and swear by them.
I'll never really understand why having a crinkly shape makes these crisps so much more appetising than the normal wavy but thin crisps. The folds just seem to add to the crunch and the flavour and even though there are a few different providers it's McCoy's who have cornered this particular niche in the market, at least as far as Chez dave27 goes.
I love the Cheese variety in their lovely green ... ...up my particular chart.

Advantages: Taste, Quality, Price Disadvantages: Didn't kill my team leader
B & M again getting a mention, where I got 2 packs of these not realising they weren't the normal Salt and Vinegar McCoy's, for 10p each. It wasn't until I got back to work that I noticed they said twisted on them, I was presuming (foolishly) that they would be like twisted in the shape not in the flavour. What then became apparent was the twist meant that they had Chilli flavour on them, I'm not a big fan of chilli but will eat it if it's there, oddly the Sensation Chilli crisps are actually some of my favourites. So opening them and trying them seemed to be a good enough idea, if I didn't like them, well, what's 10p?
The crisps coming in a Blue McCoy's bag just like the normal salt and vinegar ones, but these were the slightly larger packs (50g not 32g of a multi-pack pack), they have the word twisted on them and mention a chilli ...
I?m a bit of a crispoholic and enjoy a bag of McCoyscrisps at the best of times, but when I saw these McCoys Twisted I just had to give them a try.
I plumped for the Salt and Vinegar with a Chilli Twist since salt and vinegar are by far my favourite flavour.
Like all McCoys these crisps are thick crinkle cut crisps or ridged as they like to call them. They?ve been described in the past as a ?man?s crisp? because they are so much thicker than ordinary crisps (is that akin to saying that men are thicker? I?ll leave you to decide that one!) .
Boring stuff out of the way first, they come in large 50g bags, so there are 260 calories a bag and there?s 15.2g of fat in the bag, but as I?ve said before, no one eats crisps of any kind and expects them to be good for you.
The crisps are nice and crunchy despite being thicker than most ...
Advantages: Delicious! Disadvantages: Quite a few calories!
There's salt and vinegar crisps...and then there's McCoy's Salt & Malt Vinegar. Accept no imitation. The Pringle is of course, addictive. The Walker is of course an old favourite. But the McCoy is the 'man crisp'...
The familiar ridged style crisp is a favourite with pub snacks, but more and more they are becoming a household favourite...especially if I've anything to do with it!! The glossy silver and blue packaging is eye-catching, but as you'd expect, they're not the 'healthiest' of crisps...if such a thing exists!!
At 164 calories for each 32 gram bag, there are certainly salt and vinegar crisps out there which can be deemed better for you, but few will match McCoy's for flavour. When biting into one of the thick cut crisps, the sharp vinegar flavour can really test your tastebuds. Combined with the salt it's flavour that ...
