I have also loved McCoys crisps , however it is not often that we buy them as we usually opt for our usual ; Walkers. Now I have nothing against Walkers Crisps , I love their flavours , especially Prawn Cocktail however I prefer something 'filling' , which is where McCoys come in. Yes Walkers are a good snack , but I happen to find them too light, whereas McCoys are filling enough to satisfy my needs.
I took out a packet of McCoys ... ...Overall I would definitely recommend McCoys Salt and Vinegar Crisps. In my opinion , they are the best crisps around. They are my favourite McCoys flavoured crisps , with the ready salted flavoured ones coming second. These crisps are perfect if your after a filling snack , at a good price too. I give McCoys Salt and Vinegar Crisps are good 10/10.
On a recent shopping trip to Sainsburys, I was feeling rather peckish and therefore I was looking for something that I could eat on the way home. As I searched the 'crisps' aisle , my eyes were snatched by an 'offer' sign. "2 for £1.50" it read , I looked at the item and saw that it was 'MCcoys crisps'. Into the trolley they went.
I took out a packet of McCoys Salt and Vinegar from the large bag. I like the design , I think it is mysterious. There is just something 'irresistible' able the design. The front of the packet is gold , with the famous McCoys' logo located in the centre of the packet. The logo ,which appears to be a black circle ; the top half of it says 'The Real' in a gold font , then 'McCoys' is written across the 'circle' in large white capitals , a logo which instantly catches your eye. On the bottom half of the circle are the words 'Ridge Cut'. Below this large logo is a blue background with 'Salt and malt vinegar' scrolled across it in large white capitals. Underneath in gold reads 'Flavour Ridge Cut Potato Chips'. I turn the packet round and am faced with a silver background with two columns of information. The first column provides us with information on the crisps such as "unique recipe" and "great flavours" , along with their catchphrase ; " The Real McCoys' : Accept No Limitations " . The second column gives us nutritional information and an ingredients list.
Now , the most important part of the procedure ; the tasting. I tug open the packet of crisps. This takes a little bit of effort , not too much , but enough for it to be a difficult task for a child I take out a crips , a large crinkly one. I can instantly smell the strong flavour. I take a bite , "mmm" I say to myself quietly. These are delicious. There is a strong taste of Vinegar , but it's a lovely strong taste of vinegar. It makes my tounge tingle for a second, within seconds the strong smell is overcome by a 'potatoe-y' taste. I crunch on the crisps , quite noisily. They require a small amount of chewing , more than Walkers crisps. The crisps have a hard texture. They are thick and crinkly (as it says on the packet). There are quite a few crisps in a packet , 32g of crisps to be precise.
Each 32g packet of crisps contain 164 calories - not bad considering the snack is very filling. A packet will provide you with 2.2g of protein which is good as protein is essential for growth and repair of muscles. The crisps are high in carbohydrates at 16.9g however only 0.4g of which are sugar, the crisps are therefore do not contain a lot of sugar , however they do provide quite a bit of energy. The crisps contain a large amount of fat at 9.7g , 2.9g of which is saturated (the bad-for-your-heart-fat). There is 1.2g of fibre in each packet , which is good , as fibre is essential for a healthy digestive system. Considering the crisps are 'SALT and vinegar' flavoured ; the crisps actually don't contain a high amount of sodium at 0.4g and therefore that is good. Overall , the crisps do provide some nutrition some of which are good , for example protein and fibre , although there are also some bad nutrients included in the snack. Although , as the packet states , 'McCoys' crisps are fine in moderation. The packet also has a website address where you can get information on how a balanced diet and exercise can help a healthy website. The website is : www.123healthybalance.com
McCoy's crisps are suitable for vegetarians ( as the 'suitable for vegetarians' logo states , however this logo is rather small and is quite hard to find , considering the amount of information on the packet.Fact - As of 2006 , the crisps contain 30% less saturated fat than before
Overall I would definitely recommend McCoys Salt and Vinegar Crisps. In my opinion , they are the best crisps around. They are my favourite McCoys flavoured crisps , with the ready salted flavoured ones coming second. These crisps are perfect if your after a filling snack , at a good price too. I give McCoys Salt and Vinegar Crisps are good 10/10.
Advantages: Delicious! Disadvantages: Quite a few calories!
There's salt and vinegar crisps...and then there's McCoy's Salt & Malt Vinegar. Accept no imitation. The Pringle is of course, addictive. The Walker is of course an old favourite. But the McCoy is the 'man crisp'...
The familiar ridged style crisp is a favourite with pub snacks, but more and more they are becoming a household favourite...especially if I've anything to do with it!! The glossy silver and blue packaging is eye-catching, but as you'd ... ...exists!!
At 164 calories for each 32 gram bag, there are certainly salt and vinegar crisps out there which can be deemed better for you, but few will match McCoy's for flavour. When biting into one of the thick cut crisps, the sharp vinegar flavour can really test your tastebuds. Combined with the salt it's flavour that's nothing new, but really, really delicious compared to some of the feeble attempts for salt and vinegar crisps out there. The ...

Advantages: They taste simply fantastic! Disadvantages: Thye can give you heartburn!
When it comes to crisps I am a salt and vinegar person through and through. My favourite kind of salt and vinegar crisps is without doubt the super crispy ultra tasty McCoy’s ridge cut. These crisps are so strong in taste they give you a real zing on your tongue the minute you place them in your mouth but the taste is sort of a sweet vinegary taste rather than a strong salty taste so although they are strong the are not unpleasant like some other ... ...come in a very distinctive foil packet which is mostly blue in colour with a black band across it bearing the word McCoy’s and a Goldie coloured top to the bag. When opened the interior of the packet is shiny silver and the smell of the vinegar will go straight up your nostrils and start your mouth watering (well it does for me any way).

These fantastic crisps can be found almost anywhere. Local stores, supermarkets, ...

Advantages: Tasty, strong flavour, crunchy Disadvantages: not amazingly healthy
...a treat I pick McCoys.
McCoys are produced in the UK by United Biscuits. According to their website they are now the third biggest brand in the bagged snacks market with 5 million packs being consumed each week, shocking figures!!
McCoy's are flavour ridge cut potato chips. The great thing about these is that the chips are quite thick and crunchy and each one has a very bold flavour. Unlike some brands of crisps it seems that each crisp has been ... ...a really strong taste. They are often marketed as "male" crisps as I think they conjure up an image of strong, working crisps and of being "the Real McCoy". The Salt and Vinegar flavour is very tangy so if you love S&V this is definitely a good choice for you. Other flavours include Flame Grilled Steak, Cheddar and Onion and Mexican Chilli. They also have a very potatoey taste as well as I think they still keep some of the skin on the edge of the ...

Advantages: Tasty, good quality Disadvantages: A bit on the expensive side
Product - McCoy's Ridge Cut Salt & Malt Vinegar Flavour (single bag)
Taste - 4/5 Really strong flavourings
Price - 2/5 One of the more expensive brands and not that many more crisps in the packet
Packaging - 4/5 foil wrapped, good quality bags that aren't likely to burst
Nutrition - 512 calories per 100g, not one for dieters! 2/5
I think these are really good crisps. I found the flavours to be bold and strong which is my preference, and the ... ...holds more than that of its average competitor, I do not feel the difference in price is justified. I bought these crisps at a charity run shop where despite pricing goods as low as possible, I found the cost of these crisps still to be exceptionally high. This seems to be true for all McCoy's products and is often a reason why I choose another product. If you are looking for quality rather than quantity then I would certainly suggest this product, ...

SALT & MALTVINEGARMC.COYS CRISPS:
I am a very loyal consumer when it comes to Salt & MaltVinegarMc.Coys Crisps! I have just finished a bag and feel it is my duty to let you all in on my utterly divine experience, with a bag of Salt & MaltVinegarMc.Coys Crisps.
HISTORY OF MC.COYS CRISPS:
McCoy's crisps real name are "The Real Mc.Coys".
Mc.Coys was launched in 1985. It was known as the in the UK as the "big chip from the big country", the definitive ridgedcut potato chips with real flavours.
Year after year the McCoy's brand is being bought by more and more people, around 5 million packets are consumed in each week, that is about 8 packets per second with means nearly a third of all UK households are enjoying the brand.
Apparently MC.Coys crisps are a male targeted crisp brand, but I will have to disagree there, as I am ...

Advantages: Big size packets Disadvantages: Some can be fairly hard
When I first saw a packet of McCoy?s crisps, I knew that I would get value for money. The size of the packet - 35g, in my view is defiantly value for money, and unlike Walkers Crisps, the packets are actually filled right to the top.
The foil packet (which gives it longer lasting freshness) clearly shows 'The Real McCoy's' logo, with the slogan 'accept no imitations' underneath. Also on the front, at the bottom it clearly labels the flavour and a little description of 'flavour ridgecut potato chips'. The background colour is gold and the labels of McCoy?s colourings are
Cheddar and Onion - Green
Salt and MaltVinegar - Blue
Flame Grilled Steak - Brown
On the reverse it details the ingredients (see below), nutrition information, guarantee, contact information (again see below), best before ...
