Everyone has heard of McDonalds, even if you haven't eaten it, and everyone has heard of Monopoly, even if you haven't played it. One famous board game and one famous resturant team up for a limited time each year to bring a gaming frenzy which a majority of the country wants to take part in.
McDonalds Monopoly is a game which is available to play at McDonalds resturants for a limited time every year. McDonalds and Monopoly team up to produce a game that the nation enjoys.
The aim of the game is to buy McDonalds. The more McDonalds, the more tickets, and obviously the more tickets you gain the higher the chance of winning some of the very flashy prizes on offer. But the tickets are not given out for any type of food.
Tickets are stuck onto the McDonalds food boxes, like fries, burgers and drinks. The bigger the meal you order - the more stickers you will earn. The McDonalds staff and you do not know which stickers you will get until the sticker is opened. You will not get stickers for happy meals small fries, deserts etc.
On each ticket which is rectangular shape; is a coloured strip at the top, this represents the colour property on the Monopoly gameboard. If you collect 3 different properties of the same colour, you are eligable for a top prize. Sometimes, you do not need three, but if you gain two different brown tickets you can gain a top prize too. Below the colour strip on the sticker is the road which is shown on the Monopoly board. Under this is the prize which you could win if you ain all of the tickets for the colour shown at the top. Under the prize information is the ticket number; this is not unique, for example; the Yellow Leicester Square ticket to win a Porsche Boxster is ticket number M714. This is just a small code which makes it easier to play. Under this, are the two other ticket numbers you need to win an amazing prize. Under this information is the expiry date. And finally on your very small ticket is a code which is unique. You should not give it out freely as this is needed when claiming your prize. Do not give it out!
You can gain alot of tickets by simply buying more food at McDonalds. For example, if you buy a McChicken Premiere meal with Coca-Cola, you gain 6 stickers. 3 on your fries box, and three on the drink. There are other meals and items which can gain prizes.
If you get tickets which are repeats or duplicates - you can swap with friends or just keep them. But which has been more popular than ever, the frenzy for McDonalds Monopoly tickets on eBay. But it has been found that alot of fake tickets are sold, on eBay - leaving alot of unhappy buyers. Be careful when selling these on eBay.
Below is a list of what can be won, and the amounts. 650 x Sony Erricson Mobile Phones 1 Million x £100 Thomas Cook Holiday Loads of McDonalds meals - FREE!! If you have won a food prize like a free McFlurry, then you can redeem at the counter. But if you have won a non-food prize then you can redeem by contacting McDonalds. Do not give to a McDonalds member of staff because they cannot give you your prize.
McDonalds Monopoly has been played every year for many years, using different formats such as scratch cards and using great attracting prizes. In my opinion this years game is the most popular.
If you do not want to buy McDonalds, and win tickets you can play a McDonalds Monopoly game on the Monopoly website - high scorers of that game will win prizes.
Overall: I think the game is very entertaining can be fun, but addictive if you only need one more ticket to win a top prize. This years game is more entertaining and fun than ever. The format of the game is fun, and I enjoy playing.
