----------------------------------------- WORKING AT MCDONALD'S ----------------------------------------- I worked at MacDonald's for about 7 months when I was at university. I was a full time student at university, but my schedule meant that I only had lectures 3 days a week, which left me with plenty of time to fit in a part-time job. I had just moved to a new house with other students, and as it happened there was a McDonalds restaurant just a couple of streets away. They were advertising job vacancies, so I decided to apply. = Before I go on though, I want to issue the disclaimer that this ... more

So you have decided to become a fast food guru. The ideal place to start would probably be the most famous of all fast food restaurants - McDonalds. With more than 30,000 restaurants in 119 countries across the world, McDonalds as a company serves more than 50 million customers every single day. I started in McDonalds in October 2005, after visiting the restaurant and seeing that they were hiring new staff. I asked for an application form, filled it out and handed it in straight away. The application form itself was quite simple to navigate, asking the same homogenous questions that most ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Longer Shifts Can Get Very Hot and Tiring. Minimum Wage Upon Starting

I must say when I first started, I did have some reservations about being from private school and working at Mcdonalds. I was not looking forward to encountering the stereotypical cons in my Mcjob, but after 19 months, these have all been unfounded. I joined because I need something to fit around university and this is exactly what I have. If you have a busy life and not enough money to cope, this could be the answer. Most restaurants open at 5/6am and don't close until 10/11pm. Some are open 24 hours and because of this you really can work whenver you want and most Business Managers will ... more

I first became employed in McDonalds store no 773 in August 1999 at just 16 years of age. I had just finished my GCSE's and needed to get a job to fund driving lessons etc. Both of my brothers had previously worked for McDonalds and although there were some bad points they always had a great social crowd from working there as they were all of the similar age, so I asked my brother to get me an Application Form. The form itself is pretty simple name, address, date of birth, references, hours available to work, hobbies, qualifications. After a brief interview with a standardised question and ... more

I worked in a McDonalds Restaurant in Newcastle for three years and contrary to what people might have experienced I personally loved it. I spent most of my time there on till or on the express till as I had the best speeds in the restaurant and I found the day went fast. I did the odd shift on dining area which I admit I did not enjoy. People go into places like McDonalds and have no respect for the restaurant, people have lettuce fights, leave their trays covered in mess and spill drinks everywhere and leave them which Im sure they would never do at home or in a higher class restaurant. I ... more
