Advantages: Dark chocolate and oaty, what more can you say Disadvantages: TOO MOORISH
McVities chocolate Hobnobs are a family favourite in our house. I buy them for my husband and if we're not careful, he eats the lot.
They are approx 6 cm in diameter and covered in a layer of milk chocolate which for me balances perfectly with the oaty taste of the hobnob, stopping the biscuit being too crumbly or dry.
The chocolate does tend to have a tendancy to melt in the hot months, so I put ours in the fridge in ... ...still delicious.
Each biscuit has 76 calories and 3.7 grams of fat so they aren't the healthiest option around but if you're eating chocolate biscuits, who cares.
On the side of the hobnobs packet, there is a 1-2-3 steps for a healthy balance guide.

The chocolate does tend to have a tendancy to melt in the hot months, so I put ours in the fridge in summer which makes the biscuits even more crunchy but are still delicious.

You can't help wondering whether McVities are trying to help us justifying eating chocolate biscuits after all??
It does say on the packet that they are ' Now lower in salt and No artificial flavours and colours'.
You can just about taste a salty taste, but it is not overwhelming as it is balanced by the sweetness of the chocolate.
The ones I bought are in a 500g packet at a cost of £1.68 I think it was but I did find these on offer buy 1, get 1 free so it was even better. You can also buy chocolate hobnobs in a tube which I have seen selling for 99p for 250g with a sealable lid, which is great for taking some on holiday with you.
Hobnobs are also available in plain chocolate in the tubes which I would prefer, but aren't able to get in my local supermarket. Why is there is never much choice with dark chocolate?? If you really want to be good, you can always buy hobnobs with no chocolate but if you are eating a biscuit, why not go the whole hog and eat chocolate too, I say!
You can also now buy hobnobs flapjack but I haven't tried this as yet.
Also available which I love are the Hobnob chocolate cream biscuits, once opened they disappear before your very eyes when my hubby is abou. They also come in vanilla cream but are not as ready available.
I would definately recommend these to anybody and do regularly buy these biscuits as a cupboard essential.
Advantages: The name, great dunkers, taste so yummy! Disadvantages: unhealthy, not invincible, may contain cocaine
Well where do I start? Is there really that much to say about a biscuit?
Ok, well i've chosen to review this product after a short debate concerning which biscuit beats which-Jaffa Cakes V Hob Nobs (Oh, you know who you are).
Now, obviously, anything that has the name 'hobnob' has to be the biscuit of the Gods, but perhaps if you're not quite as easily amused as i am, you actually care about how they taste and such.
Well, I do find these biscuits ... ...one huge advantage point over any other? Kindly pointed out by Mr Peter Kay, they make for perfect dunking! You can dunk 'em in your tea or hot drink of your choice with slightly less fear than your other regular, and more rubbishy (i.e. jaffa cakes) biscuit. However, it must be pointed out that sadly, they're not invincible. I'm still a little traumatised from that horrible day when my hob nob crumbled into my tea...it was so unexpected too.
The ...

I had a plain chocolate hob nob and I could not stop I had to have 2 no 3. Theres no stopping me when I get that chocolate hob nob packet opening unless I put them out of sight. I prefer plain chocolate to milk and hob nobs are made with both milk and plain chocolate.
I find thast the pla\ain chocolate covering on hob nobs is a good tasty chocolate dark and sophisticated.
The words Hob nob originally meant to drink together now we say hob nob to ... ...coffee to partake of a biscuit.
Hob nobs are made by Mc Vities. Mc Vities are part of united biscuits now.
Mc Vities made their first hob nob in 1985 in 1987 they produced the first milk chocolate hob nob Plain Hob nob;s followed later.
Hob nobbs are quite a large round biscuit. And are an oaty biscuit having some ingredients the same as flapjacks. In fact Mc Vities also make a hob nob flapjack. They are very tasty and moreish. The chocolate ones ...

Every weekend when I go to visit my gran I buy her a packet of hobnobs. She loves them, it's just her thing, gingery and nutty. But one day I picked up the wrong thing and ended up being Hobnobs coated in chocolate. She was so disappointed becuase she can't eat chocolate so I had to take them home...They were sitting in the cupboard for ages until I got peckish one day and decided to give them a try. I've liked hobnobs evers since I was a child, ... ...good one! That fatal day i ended up eating the whole packet (i know im a pig!) but I just couldn't stop, they were delicious! Afterwards, however, they made me feel rather sick and I regretted it! These are lovely biscuits, but aren't very good for those trying to lose weight..they have quite a high calorie count and are addictive...so you could end up eating more then you bargain for...They taste like nuts, ginger bread and CHOCOLATE!! yum ...
