McVities make different types of yoghurt breaks there are Tropical Fruit, Strawberry, Apple, Forest fruits etc. However I prefer Tropical fruit and Strawberry Yoghurt breaks. The tropical fruit is made up of a crunchy but soft biscuit which has some pineapples, sultanas etc between it and on top of the whole biscuit is a layer of yoghurt. These are the most delicious biscuits I have ever eaten I can't even explain the taste to you, so you really have to try them out. I mainly buy a pack of six Tropical Fruit flavour and yes I mainly finish them in one day.
How did I find out about these Yoghurt breaks? Well this might be a shock to you but I knew them at Easter (year 2007) which is not far off at all. I got invited to an Easter party so whilst I was at the party I went to the kitchen to get a drink and to my luck I just saw a box of McVities "Go ahead" Tropical Fruit Yoghurt breaks opened. I had actually never seen them before so I just decided to try them out. My first bite was just amazing; when you chew on them it feels weird but nice because the biscuit is soft and crunchy at the same time.
Unlike the
Alpen bars these biscuits don't leave you thirsty at all maybe if you eat the whole pack of yoghurt breaks in one go, then maybe yes you could feel a little bit thirsty. When I eat the yoghurt breaks I don't feel hungry at all afterwards. You could say they take away food craving which is good for those people on diets.
--------PRICE
First time I bought these bars was in Summerfield and to my luck it was two boxes of six for £2.00 and they are normally £1.73 a box, which is quite a lot, so yes it was a bargain. The "two for £2.00" included all the flavours (Forest Fruits, Apple Fruit, Strawberry and Tropical Fruit Yoghurt breaks). I usually bought one strawberry box and one Tropical Fruits flavour as I did not really like the Forest fruits. However one day it happened that the offer ended so I could not see myself spending £1.73 though they are worth it, so I went to Iceland to check them out and to my luck they were £1.00 each per box which is way cheaper than Summerfield, I was very pleased because it meant I can buy them in masses again. When I and my mum were doing our main grocery shopping in Sainsbury's, I looked for the Go Ahead Tropical Fruits Yoghurt breaks to see how much they were a box and to my shockingly surprise they were £1.65 I was well disappointed as I thought they could have been cheap, for the reason that Sainsbury's is a big organisation and lots of their products are priced with other supermarkets. Nevertheless, before I went back to college I went To Tesco to look for some stationery I was actually quite hungry so I decided to get some Go ahead yoghurt Breaks, it was not hard to find them on the shelf but when I looked at the price it was a shockingly £1.65 a box and yes I was disappointed. So if you want to buy the McVities Tropical Fruit yoghurt breaks I suggest that you go to Iceland as they are very cheap comparing to three of the major supermarkets.
One morning when I was going to my part time job I popped into my Local Newsagent to buy something to eat, I did not think that they would sell "Go Ahead McVities Yoghurt breaks" at all but to my surprise they actually did. They however, did not sell them in packs of six but individually and each little pack cost 40p which is not expensive for two slices but if you three individual yoghurt breaks it will be expensive as it will add up to £1.20 for three breaks when you can always spend a £1.00 in Iceland and get a pack of six. At my work place, we have a vending machine and they have Strawberry and Tropical Fruit yoghurt breaks and they cost 50p which is quite a lot.
-------PACKAGING
The Tropical Fruit yoghurt comes in a small Red, yellow and blue box. There is a picture of the biscuits on the box and they look really attractive (even better in reality). The yoghurt breaks are all tucked into the box smartly. However, if you buy them individually the colours and the picture on the packaging is all the same. Each Individual pack has two slices of Tropical Fruit Yoghurt breaks.
--------NUTRITION
If you are on a diet then these are the biscuits you should be eating definitely. The McVities Tropical Fruit Yoghurt Break biscuits are not only the most delicious biscuits I have eaten but there are also the healthiest biscuits I have heard of and eaten. Each Slice only has 2.0g of fat and 68 calories which is not a lot at all. Each slice also has 0.9g of protein (good for your bones and growth), Fibre 0.3g (helps the digestion system), Carbohydrates 11.6g (provides glucose) and Sodium 0.1g. I do not buy the Tropical fruit yoghurt break for the nutrition though; I buy them because they taste so nice and yes it is a big bonus that they are healthy as well as we all need to have a balanced diet everyday.
--------NOTE
---The McVities Tropical Fruit Yoghurt Breaks contains Soya, Gluten and Milk, and are produced on a line were they handle nut products. Therefore if you are allergic to any of those products mentioned you might not want to eat these bars. ---The Tropical Fruit Yoghurt Break is suitable for Vegetarians, so don't hesitate to buy them if you are a vegetarian otherwise you'll be missing out. ---If you buy a pack of six McVities Tropical Fruit yoghurt breaks make sure you store them in a cool place because the yoghurt does melt if you leave them in a hot or warm place. ---Do not hold the Yoghurt break in you hands for a long time otherwise the yoghurt will start to melt and yes it is annoying as your hands will feel sticky afterwards. ---If you buy the McVities Tropical Fruit yoghurt breaks and you like them or dislike them you can always contact the McVities Company to tell them. Their contact details are as follow:
Telephone U.K (Free to call) - 0500 011 710 Telephone ROI: 1800 409 317 When you make the call it is best if you call them between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. You can also send them a letter: Freepost NAT4520, Ashby-De-La-Zouch, LE65 1NZ.
I would recommend McVities Tropical Yoghurt Breaks or any of their yoghurt breaks to all those people who like to eat healthy or just want something sweet with less fat. These yoghurt breaks are also good for you children, it would be cool if you put it in you child's lunch box.
