...'s amazing how many are more than happy to allow you in to clear old wood from their fields these days, and it allows us to enjoy an afternoon using the chainsaw! I've also had a variety of different saws over the years, and McCulloch do tend to be excellent value for money for the average user. If you plan on becoming a forestry worker, you might want to look at alternatives, but for the average person needing a saw for either garden clearance or fire wood cutting, you can't really go far wrong for the price of these machines. ...Your choice of strimmer is an area in which your buying decision must be objective orientated. If your needs are purely to strim lawn edges etc then a cheap lightweight electric strimmer such as a Black and Decker are probably the likeliest bet. If however, you are facing a jungle challenge, then a more heavy duty, petrol driven strimmer (so you dont damage the cable in the long grass) might be more appropriate, such as the McCulloch. The Bosch falls handily somewhere in the middle. Priced currently by Argos at £29.99, it has a 25cm cutting diameter, 350 watt motor, 8 metres of cutting line and a 'click' spool replacement. The 12 metres cable would be suitable for most modern sized house gardens, but an extension lead would be necessary for the older properties which usually have a larger garden.
