What can I say - the hype around Victoria Stilwell since the introduction of Me or the Dog is well and truly justified. The woman knows what she's on about and this book strips away the ridiculous outfits and stupid phrases from Channel 4 and gives you the information you need in plain old english. Getting a puppy - she tells you how to train it in different ways and tells you why it works/doesn't. Got a problem - there's questions answered throughout the book. She tells you how to train particular aspects and how to discipline too. It's also reasurringly written in that it's not patronising and helps you understand your dog - there's sections on body language and noises - it's fairly in depth but at the same time split into sections so you can find the bit on crate training, or toilet training, or barking whenever you need it. The book
This book is quite large- it's about the size of two dvd boxes side by side. It is a board book so it is baby friendly. Being a board book means that babies don't have to worry about getting paper cuts and scrunching up the pages as they grab at them. Board books are great as they are so baby friendly, although they don't manage to avoid getting the teeth marks around the edges where your baby likes to chew!

The climax was a shocker and I was quite unprepared for it, inspite of having read the book ..
But on the whole , I personally felt that the reasons for the killings were just not acceptable- it somehow made one wish that the story had some stronger points regarding the motive for the killings . That is a major flaw here...The song ' You belong tome ' and its implications somehow seem very flimsy and not reason enough for all those killings ..
On the whole I would safely say that the film is watchable if you have not already read the book. It keeps one's absorbed because of the interesting plot.
But if you have already read the book you may be in for a disappointment, as you tend to compare the film with the book, which in my opinion was better..
