My medion lasted the 1 year warranty period. I may or may have not got ripped off with the price,. I bought it from woolworths for £349, in the sales last year. It comes with a 15.4 inchlcd screen which is a good size for watching dvds, it also comes with a dvd re-writer, though I think most laptops do nowadays. Its ram is around 892 mb, which is not quite 1gb as the company would have you belive. In the year I have had it, there have been some niggling issues, such as when the battery meter says theres 60 minutes left, it will then say low battery after ten minuites. I found it easier to use as a staionery computer so that it can have a regular power source. I have also found that the usb cables don't stay in very well, any slight movement and they fall out. Sound quality isn't brilliant. Mine came preloaded with windows vista basic. I think that if I buy a new one I may try the vista prenium, as basic is literlally basic and doesn't do very much and to upgrade costs you around another £100. I can't blame the comapany for as why its broke, its just unforunatelly my laptop got hid under a cushion and not realising I sat on it, for all of two seconds. At first I heard the crack, and it looked like a pellet hole, however now the ink has gone all over the screen. The laptop itself has a few crashes around three a month where the mouse freezes up completely. Well as a recommendation I wouldn't recomend it, and deffinetly not designed for sitting on. I am now on the lookout for a good laptop so any reccomendations for under 300 let us know. The laptop itself is quitre heavy, not something you'd want to be carrying round, and always make sure your near a power source as the battery won't last.

(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors, dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
