Brilliant Game/Sim with near unlimited hours of game play and increasing difficulty and the players own leisure. Runs well and has plenty of performance controls allowing nearly anybody to set the game to a configuration which works for them.
Multi-player is incredibly fun where you can do whatever you wish, you can follow the rules of a commercial flight or just race your friends to a destination and even have another one of your friends act as an air traffic controller.
Rewarding game play including badges to earn on completion of missions or tasks keeps the player to have something to aim for.
If I had to pick a negative point in this game it would be that there could be a larger selection of planes. A more then worthwhile buy to any aviation fan. ...

MicrosoftsFlightSimulator series most probably the most famous, and bought flying simulators of all time, and the last couple of editions (2002 & 2004) have really shown what Microsoft can do . . . .
However, there has been much controversey over Microsoft's FlightSimulator series over the last year or so because of FlightSimulatorX.
I'm sure you know by now this controversey is because of Microsofts "unwillingness," to put REALISTIC system requirments on the back of the box.
When FSX first came out, the average rating on Amazon.com was around 1.5 stars, this was mostly because of the simple fact nobody had the "super-computer" system requirements it really needed. This now has changed and it has gone up to around 4, but if you read the individual reveiws you will still find a fair few new reviews of 1-2 stars.

As with most Microsoft products, however, it does have the downfall that unless you're running a parallel processor supercooled computer; (and most of us aren't!) then you'll have to turn down some of the options. If you do have a brand new up to date system, then I envy you, as the graphics and effects are stunning even at my level - I can only imagine they'd be close to perfect with the sliders turned to max.
Another feature of most MSflight-sims is the upgrade capability - there are usually a wealth of updates and new aircraft available on the web. Development on new ones for FS2004 doesn't seem quite up to speed yet, but I'm sure it will pick ...
