Advantages: Great Read Disadvantages: Book covers synopsis not as good as could be
...I read The Nanny by MelissaNathan and thought it was great, I had borrowed the books from a friend.
When I read the back cover of The Waitress I was a little put off. It didn't capture my attention as much and I put off reading it until I had nothing else.
When I eventually got round to reading the book it was nothing like I had expected. I was gripped.

Advantages: Easy to read, great story, easy to pick up, Disadvantages: can't put it down and do other jobs.
...If you have already read some of the other books by MelissaNathan then this is definitely one you should read. I found it in the local book shop, and bought it without even reading the back cover, as I knew I would enjoy it. When I got home I read the inside cover and found that whilst Melissa was writing 'The Nanny' she discovered she has breast cancer. She finished writing this Book 'The Learning Curve' in February 2006, but unfortunately died two months later. Aged 37
I got emotional and wanted to start reading the book straight away, and wanted to enjoy reading it as much as I could.

MelissaNathan has written five novels, and this is her 4th. She was raised on Hertfordshire and now lives in London with her husband. She has also written 'The Nanny', 'Persuading Annie', 'Pride Prejudice and Jasmine Field', and her fifth is released later this year. The Waitress was published in 2005.
***Plot***
Katie is a sassy and sarcastic waitress working in a café on the outskirts of London. Despite having graduated from Oxford, she doesn't have a clue what to do with her life. Her Great-aunt plans to leave her a huge inheritance to invest, but will not let her have the money until she finds her vocation.
Katie meets a guy at a party, Dan and goes on a date with him in the early chapters, but halfway through the date, panics and leaves him in the restaurant. Suddenly her café is taken over by new owners- one...
