Mellor and Russell Sensation Permanent Hair colour cream WHERE , WHY and WHAT : The product is called Mellor and Russell Sensation Permanent Hair colour cream and the shade I bought is light Ash Blonde 3 ( 3 being Permanent , 2 last 12 to 24 shampoos and 1 lasts 6 to 12 shampoos) I bought this hair colour from Tesco a while back for the huge price of 97p which I thought was just too good to walk passed. I bought the Mellor &Russell Colour Foam because the packaging emphasised "NO ammonia" On opening the bottle there was a discernible odour which seemed to be a slight smell of ammonia.However I persisted as I trusted the description on the box On application there was an immediate feeling of painful burning and tingling which made the immediate removal of the product a priority Despite copious rinsing with clean water the unpleasant sensation lasted several days and caused me to question whether there would be any permanent after effects. I used the light ash blonde dye and I was overwhelmed with the result. I forgot to wash it off after 30 minutes and I think it was more like an hour before washing it out. However, my hair felt really good while rinsing and I although I used a conditioner I would have got by without it. I have long hair and had a used the product without first dampening my hair I defitely would have needed two packets. While my hair was still wet, I used a hair serum, which I always do, and the result was lovely sleek shiny hair.
