I would just like to write a review on camping, from my own very many years worth of experience! If you have never been camping, then you don't quite know what you are missing - yet.
Camping usually means spending up to two weeks in a tent that leaks, with another person who snores and so keeps you up all night - or a dog that also keeps you awake by farting and licking you all over the face all night. But there are some advantages to it, but I have yet to find out what they are!
However, with all said here are some thoughts on both sides of the matter. Because I love it really!
Camping can be in anything from a glorified filed rented out by a local farmer, to a proper concern by means of a full-on camping site with added facilities. Depending on what you want can decide where you stay, and what you want close by. A lot of camping sites are usually placed in or near to tourist hotspots and the like, but there can be some in slightly more remote places inland etc. It is always worth contacting the local tourist information group in the area you are thinking of, in order to get an idea of what is about.
Be prepared for all eventualities when you go camping, maiinly dependant on where it is that you go. My brother and I went camping in the Brecon Beacons, downstream from a major river - only to wake up at 2 in the morning to find it had burst its banks, so we had to carry our tent to another site with everything in it.
One of the worst things about bein gunder canvas is when it purs down with rain, as you won't have the luxuries of having anywhere much to hang up wet clothes to dry off properly.
Before you go camping, however make sure that you get yourself a decent tent. Don't use that old tent that has been kept in your shed for 15 years, that has been sewn together so much that nothing original is there. Tents are available at reasonable prices these days and in different sizes, so take a look at what is out there.
Camping is an experience that will change your life, but only you can make it for better or for worse. If you go in to it with an open mind and take whatever comes at you, then you will no doubt enjoy it a lot better than having a miserable time.
And so my advice to you would be just that - accept that anything could happen; make the most of it, and have a good time. Otherwise, you will only moan about it for the rest of your life and refuse to go again.

A really good review, with some sound advice. I camp every summer and i love it. I always choose somewhere where not too many tourists go. I don't mind if it's cold. I love beaches and wind. It just brings you back to nature! Ratty x :¬) x

Been camping once, around 10 years ago, I was only around 6/7 but that was enough to scar me for life. The boys found it hilarious to make wolf noises throughout the night, the girl who slept next to me, peed her sleeping bag every night. Never doing it again. A brilliant review. Kirsty. xx
