I've been going to the Abacus comptuer fairs for quite a while now, and I've got to say they are pretty damned good!

They operater right through the North West of England, from Llandudno (Okay, so that's Wales, but only just) right up to Blackpool!

The fairs are well organised, and you don't find any of the cowboy traders that you'll get elsewhere. I've not had any trouble with one piece of hardware / software I've bought from these fairs. In the rare occurence that the information the traders, and indeed the Abacus staff themselves give you simply wasn't enough, and you inadvertantly buy a piece of hardware that just ain't gonna work, all the traders give reciepts with contact numbers and, although I cannot speak for ALL the traders there, the one's who I have had to call have offered a fast and satisfactory response.

The prices for entry to the fairs differe depending on the location. I can't find the info on their site for exact prices (http://www.fairs.co.uk) but I do know it's only a few pound, with discounts for families. The small fee you pay to enter the event can EASILY be made back by the discounts you can get once inside. All the traders seem to offer 'special' prices for the fairs. Presumably this is because they can gurantee selling the stuff, so they do it at a price that'd usually be reserved for bulk orders.

So all in all, if you're ever visiting the North West of England, it's worth stopping by an Abacus computer fair to see what bargains you can pick up!
