It breaks my heart when anyone decides to get a bird and put it in a cage. I can only say that birds do not belong in cage. Kakariki is a New Zealand species and its conservation status is "near threatened". How would you feel if someone decides to split you with your loved ones or has a constant watch on you while you breed? This is for sure not the right anwer to your question, but please consider not getting them and not putting them in cage.
