Here is some usefull tips on how to removal those stains that we all come across from day to day.

1) PAINT

oil based paint(only if fresh and still moist)
dab the area with white sprit then wash normally.

Emulsion sponge with cold water and wash immediately.

2) INK,BALLPOINT AND FELT TIP PEN

dab the area with methylated sprits on cotton wool buds to keep the area small, then wash in the normal way.

3) BLOOD,EGG,MILK AND GRAVY

these are protein staines, they should be treated by soaking in a biological detergent and cold water solution before washing in heavy duty biological detergent.

4) CHEWING GUM

freeze the gum make it brittle by pressing on an ice cube, inside a plastic bag, so not to wet the fabric then scrape off as much as you can. Then dab the area with dry cleaning fluid before washing.

5) OIL,FAT AND GREASE

dampen the area and apply heavy duty liquid detergent to the stain, wash immediately in water as hot as the fabric will allow.

6) CANDLE WAX

scrape off as much as possible place stain between absorbent kitchen paper and press with a warm iron. Dab with methylated spirit to remove colour before washing.

7) GLUE

ADHESIVES try to remove the glue before it sets then apply methylated spirit for natural fabrics ot lighter fuel for synthetics.

8) GRASS AND MUD

dab on methylated spirits then rinse in warm soapy water. Apply glycerine solution and leave before washing in heavy duty detergent containing oxygen bleach.

9) MILDEW

if the damage appears permanent, try bleaching white fabrics, or soaking then washing in heavy duty detergent containing oxygen bleach.

10) RUST

cover with salt, squeeze over lemon juice and leave for about 1 hour before washing normally.
