So whats a Brazilian wax then?
Well for you people who don't know what a Brazilian wax is,then you are more a sensible person than me. originally from Brazil,yes really folks, as they wear tiny weeny little Bikinis. It is a bikini wax which removes all of your pubic hair,apart from a little landing strip above your little triangle.
A different type of wax is used to a normal bikini job,and be prepared to throw your dignity out of the window.As I mean all of your hair is waxed,even unsightly bottom fluff.Although this means no worries about any bush hanging out on the beach,winking at all and sundry.
My Experience
After booking the initial appointment,the girl at my local salon did ask me a couple of questions when I booked my self in. Obviously one of them was,have you had this done before,as the more hair there is to remove,then the longer it will take,as more yanking is required. Also she asked me if I had a preference to who was going to do it.I did'nt,as long as I did'nt know the person,and was'nt someone who I used to hate at school,or one of my mortal enemies,then it was fine.
So there I was 3pm the next day,walking along to the salon,with thoughts of muff wigs if it went wrong,and this is probably going to kill me,and what if my entire Lady parts are waxed off and there will be nothing but a blank space left. Ting Ting! As I went through the door and was welcomed in,and just announced my name.To my absoloute horror,the beautician was raring to go and I did'nt even get the chance to sit and read a trashy magazine pooing myself.
She asked for my name and address and telephone number,so there is a permanent record in the salon of the treatments that you have had performed. She then asked me what I thought was a Brazilian wax,I stated,'Everything off,except a little runway' Phew..I was right,apparently a Hollywood is without the runway,and a lot of people get these confused.
She then said right,I need you to take your trousers and pants off,and lie on the couch.As she went off to wash her hands and don some latex gloves. So as she shut the door I gingerly removed my khaki trousers and Thong.I also took my socks off,as I felt stupid with them on.Although God knows why,as a total stranger was going to wax my fanny fluff off,but there we go. Anyway,I then lay on the bed,with my hands crossed over my parts just in case anyone got the wrong room,and got the shock of their lives.The lady then came back and said right OK,lets get on with it.
She had a huge pot of warm wax waiting on a trolley,which she had obviously prepared earlier.It looked like slightly runny,pink Angel Delight. Before the yanking commenced,she trimmed off the excess forest with a pair of scissors.It was indeed very strange to see this poor woman fiddle with a pair of scissors near my doll parts.I reassured her that I had had a shower about an hour before,to which she replied 'You would'nt believe the amount of women that don't' Errr..thats disgusting!
So as she finished trimming ,I was ready and waiting.I was lieing on my back facing the ceiling,as she asked me to just lie with my legs ever so slightly apart. She then applied the wax,which was very warm indeed,and then smoothed over the fabric strip,and then...yank! She pulled it off.I lied there thinking,that really wasnt that bad! The only thing that I can liken it to,was when you put a piece of sellotape over hairs on your arm,and then pull it off quickly. The sound was also similar,like a piece of velcro being pulled off of its partner piece. I noticed that the amount of time the wax was on the skin was minimal,as it was quite warm. As the relaxing music of seagulls screeching was playing,she chatted about all and sundry,making me feel completely at ease.
I noticed that she generally worked down,if you know what I mean! The top part was done first,then the delicate erm..petals..and then the last part,which was my bottie hair.Now for this manouvre she asked me to lift my leg and hold it there. She then applied the wax to the area and waxed it off.This surprisingly was the least painful part to be waxed. She then asked me to raise the other leg and repeated again on the other cheek. The last part was a tiny piece of hair right above your clitoris,which she did say this was going to hurt.And it did,it was by far the most painful piece. As I excalimed to the poor woman ' I almost did a wee then!' However all throughout the waxing,she did keep asking,was I OK,are you alright. Theres me thinking just keep going,and let this vaginal torture be over!
She then pinged off her gloves and exclaimed right,thats it,do you want to have a look? Well there was me,staring down at my bald parts,I sort of answered,Yes Lovely! As I generally dont look at my genitals in the mirror,so did'nt really know what it was meant to look like anyway. The whole waxing process took 35 minutes,as this was my first one.So a complete deforestation was in order. I popped on my clothes again,and went back to reception to pay.The charge was £30,which I thought was fairly reasonable.Although I'm sure she should have been paying me for the pleasure of fiddling with my curtains. She recommended that I should be waxed again in another four weeks,to get rid of the re growth.As she told me that if I left it any longer than that, the normal amount of hair would grow back again,as I have only been waxed once,Whereas the more you are waxed,the less the hair will grow.It eventually becomes patchy,and will stop growing.So dont get the runway part if you want to grow all of it back again.
MY Opinion
When I got home,off came the knickers and out came the mirror.And lo and behold the hair was gone! I think it looks neat,and it does feel very hygienic. The whole experience gave my lady parts no adverse effects,although it was a little red and a little sore for about a day afterwards.But this did all clear up,and it is now as it normally is.It is also important not to use any perfumed products down there for at least 24 hours after the waxing.I did this and had no problems.
This is a perfect treatment for those of you who think no pain,no gain.But maybe not be for everyone.It is very undignified and fairly painful,but the results are fantastic.Leaving you with soft,smooth bits for four weeks at a time.
My partner thought it hilarious wehn I first dropped my pants,but I did notice him hanging sorund the shower last night looking at it,with a funny look on his face.So expect a sudden influx of naughtiness. I will definitely be going back in four weeks before my holiday,to have a touch up.It is also around £15 for each subsequent treatment,so you may as well keep it up. I give it four stars out of five,it loses one for being so blinking painful.
Sorry if you have read this and are a man,but you need to know the silly things up women go through to get rid of a bit of superfluos hair.

Advantages: Lasts longer then shaving Disadvantages: Painful and expensive
WHY WAX? Basically it lasts longer than any other method as it rips hairs out at the root rather than just cutting them – up to 6 weeks depending upon your rate of regrowth. Shaving can involve some blood if you cut yourself and within a day or two stubble is noticeable. Using hair dissolving cream has not worked very well on me. The results can be uneven, the process is quite fiddly and the cream can smell quite strongly of ammonia. THE PROCESS ... ...beautician (or you, if you are very brave) smears some warm wax (often containing tea tree) on the affected part usually with a spatula and then presses a strip of special material on top of the wax. This strip of material is quickly ripped away from the skin against the direction of hair growth and (hopefully) all of your fuzz comes away with it. It is painful but quick. Advantages: Hair free for over a week! Disadvantages: The pain
The first thing that comes into most people's heads when they think of waxing is ouch that must hurt or if they have done a home kit done that done it once and never again. My attitude is, try it once and if you can not handle the pain at all well at least you can say you have tried. I have not done a home waxing kit as the thought of pulling my own hairs out sends shivers down my spine. Right, let's get started then. First rule of waxing, don't try it yourself. Yes, you may have just read about the most wonderful product, how the wax rolls on easily and smoothly, but don't be fooled. Waxing isn't easy ... ...If you try it at home you will end up looking like a hairy toffee apple, unable to remove the wax or hairs properly and your legs stuck to your knickers for the day. Find yourself a decent beautician, by word of mouth preferably and let them do the work for you.

Since then I have not looked back. At regular intervals of approximately 4 weeks I repeat what was done in the salon in my bathroom with cold wax strips, which I cut to the required shape before applying to my eyebrow area. It is the best way to eliminate all the very thin hair, which I can hardly see even with my glasses on!
The only drawback I can see is the wait involved in order to make the process worthwhile. However waiting 4 weeks is my own personal choice. It would be just as easy to repeat at shorter intervals to avoid using tweezers for emergency removals in the meantime.
All in all I thoroughly recommend it, with all the usual precautions usually in place for waxing and wax use. If your skin is sensitive or prone to irritate easily, I would seek advice before having it done, but if, like me, your ...
