Being a web developer, I thought I should experiment with the world of WAP phones. I can tell you, I was dissapointed. The concept is a great Idea. Making the internet come to life in your phone. The trouble is, technology is not yet advanced enough to make this practical. You can only access certain web sites, you will not be able to recieve pictures on the 2 tone screen, and the speed is very slow indeed. I think The internet should stay on computers where it can be handled. After all, that is where it was intended to be used. Computers can handle all of this because they are huge things that you dont carry around in your pocket. Phones should stick to making calls on! Maybe in the future when Technology catches up with the concept, it will be practical.

I think you have missed the point! W@P is not much use as a toy, but as a business tool it is excellent and economical. Professionals on the move can access their email in full, and their office can post all the information they require for the day/week onto a WAP site. The greatest advantage is that employees do not need to carry expensive laptops around, and they don't have to fumble with infrareds and leads to get the information they require! Simply log on to their personal WAP space and the infor is there. If you can't log on to certain sites, you have not configured your phone correctly!
