Nandos 10/06/2007

Nando's Bluewater

Nandos I've worked at a shoe shop in Bluewater for the last four years...so you can imagine how many lunch breaks I’ve spent wandering around wondering what to have to eat, so you'd think I would have sampled all Bluewater's restaurants, oh no! I must be the only Bluewater employee who hadn't tried Nando's! Through no fault of my own I’d like to add, its such a busy restaurant that if you go down there at a weekend or in the evening before the cinema it seems unless your willing to stand in a queue with 20 odd people ahead of you then you won't be eating there and given that I only have one precious hour of break I’m reluctant to spend it all in a queue! I met a friend for lunch there a couple of weeks ago and thankfully there was no queues...after eating there I now understand why people are willing to queue, defiantly worth the wait! Nando's Bluewater is situated in the lower Water circus; this is a section of Bluewater dedicated to restaurants, bars and the cinema...the entertainment area if you like, where people tend to head after the shops have closed. Nando's has quite a strange layout here the main part of the restaurant is on the right hand side and has a tiny wall round the edge of it so that you can still easily see in and out of the restaurant. Opposite the restaurant are several tables that are higher up and have bar stools around them, these are also part of Nando's and usually given to couples as their not really suitable for people with small children or elderly ...

De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton 21/10/2006

De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton

De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton I've stayed at this hotel twice now, once when i was 10 with my mum and dad and once when i was 20 with my boyfriend, both times i've had a fantastic time and the only negative thing being other guests there, but we'll get to that later in the review! Accomodation: The hotel has 173 rooms, this is made up of 93 standard rooms which are the cheapest and have either twin or a kingsize bed, an ensuite bathroom usually with a bath and a shower. A kettle and small sachets of tea coffe, milk etc and some very delicious biscuits! A mini bar (as with most hotels this is a little on the pricey side e.g £1.20 for a mars bar!!!!) a safe, an ironing board and hairdryer, a phone, internet access and Sky TV and the usual pre pay movies as well as pre pay games for the playstion. These rooms are mostly at the back of the hotel and look out over the town. The next room up would be the Delux room these are exactly the same as the standard rooms except they also have a small seating area and a view over the harbour - the view alone is well worth the extra money! You then have the Executive room which is the same as the the Delux just a little bigger, with the executive rooms you can choose between town view and harbour view. Then there are the suites, there are junior suites, these are the rooms i have stayed in and although a little more pricey than the rest of the rooms the are well worth the extra money for a special occasion. They are very big rooms that have a kingsize bed, a ...

Footballers' Wives - Series 1-2 (Box Set) (DVD) 14/10/2006

Footballers Wives Series 1 and 2 Box set

Footballers' Wives - Series 1-2 (Box Set) (DVD) I was hooked on the show from the very first episode, although it wasn't at all how i'd expected - from the adverts it appeared to be a serious drama series and it's far from that, yes it is a drama but its very hard to take serious with the outrageous story lines that get even less believable each week - that said its still a fantastic show, although i'd say more a comdey/drama! About the cast: CHARDONNAY LANE (Susie Amy) - A glamour model and half of the "golden couple" Chardonnay is engaged to Kyle. KYLE PASCOE (Gary Lucy) - Striker for Earls Park, engaged to Chardonnay. JACKIE PASCOE (Gillian Taylforth) - Kyle's mum, very proud of her son, doesn't always see eye to eye with his fiance! LARA BATEMAN (Lee-anne Baker) - Close friend of Chardonnay, married to the goalkeeper of the team. JASON TURNER (Cristian Solimento) - Captain of Earls Park, married to Tanya although has a wandering eye TANYA TURNER (Zoe Lucker) - Chain smoking Tanya lives for her expensive lifestyle and is determind to hang on to her cheating husband! Tanya is my favourite character she makes the show what it is and her arguments with Jason are fabolous! SALVATOR BAIGI (Daniel Schutzmann) - The teams new signing gets off on the wrong foot with team captain Jason. IAN WORMSLEY (Nathan Constance) - Another striker for Earls Park, part of the most down - to - earth coupe in the show married to Donna. DONNA WORMSLEY (Katherine Monaghan) - Young mum who is overwhelmed by all the ...

Westin NY at Times Square, New York City 12/10/2006

The Westin New York at Times Square

Westin NY at Times Square, New York City I visited The Westin in October 2005 as a gift from my parents for my 21st birthday, they treated myself and my boyfriend to a 5 night stay in a superior room. I'll start by giving you some afcts about the hotel and then i'll give you my experience. The Westin New York at Times Square is on the corner of 43rd Street and 8th Avenue, it has 863 rooms and 126 club rooms and suites. It has a restaurant (shula's steak house) a bar (bar 10) and a coffee shop that does eat in and take away (Cosi's). It has 24 hour room service, a gym and spa, a ticket desk and a gift shop. My trip to the hotel: On arrival to the hotel my first impressions were very good the hotel was an amazingly tall and colourful building, very very modern looking, we were greeted by really friendly porters who took our bags from us and then we made our way upstairs to the reception (the reception is on the 2nd floor - a little strange i thought!) The staff at the reception didn't seem particuarly friendly - i put this down to the fact that i'd just got off a 7 hour flight and maybe i was a bit grumpy but through the course of the week i came to realise this wasn't the case, I was given all the relevant documentation and told which lifts took us to our room, and given directions to the lift. The lifts are a little confusing because some of them do not go all the way up to the top they stop at around the 30th floor, fine if your on those floors, but i was on the 42nd so i had to remember to get in the ...

Footballers Wives Season 1

Footballers' Wives - Series 1 - Episodes 1 To 8 (DVD) This DVD did not cone out for almost a year after the series was first shown on TV, however the launch of it was cleverly a couple of weeks before valentines day, my boyfriends shopping had never been easier! Bose SoundDock Digital Music System 05/11/2005

Bose SoundDock Digital Music System

Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I purchased the bose sounddock on a recent trip to the USA needless to say it was a lot cheaper out there i paid about £150. It's small and fairly lightweight: 6.65" H x 11.91 W x 6.48" D (16.89cm x 30.26 x 16.47cm) 4.56lbs (2.1kg) It comes with credit card sized waterproof remote control which comes in really useful if you want to use it in the bathroom!!! The sound quality is amazing, especially considering it's coming out of something so small, crystal clear and very loud, and does not distorte when turned up. From the remote it can be turned up and down skip forwards and backwards play and pause and from the sound dock itself it can just be turned up and down. The remote control takes 1 3volt lithium battery which apparently lasts between 1 and 2 years (but i've not had it long enough to know if thats correct!) It comes with 5 different inserts so it can be adapted to fit any of the iPods including the iPod mini, nano and shuffle. Unfortunatly it does not accept batteries which limits its use a little however this is the only negative point i could find with this unit. All in all a fantastic little sound system and money well spent, i wouldn't even have minded paying UK prices for it! ...
