Top 10 Videogames of all time 01/05/2006

Top 10 games, well actually 40

Top 10 Videogames of all time Ok so I finally got round to writing this list of my top ten games. These lists are specific to their platform (PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PC) and there are four lists, those mentioned a few words before these. All of these are my personal favorites and a lot of you may not agree with me, but that doesn't really matter as it is my list J I will be listing them starting from my tenth favorite going down to my first favorite. You may find that some of the games I have already done full reviews of, mainly the Xbox 360 ones, so check them out too. J Ok so which to start off with? The list goes, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 , PC in that order. :::::::::: Playstation 2 :::::::::: 10) :::::::::: Manhunt :::::::::: Developer: Rockstar Rating: 18 Players: 1 This game had a lot of publicity when it first came out and was banned in many countries due to hits extremely violent nature. However it was this violence that drew me and a lot of my friends into the game in the first place. Developed by Rockstar the same people that make the Grand Theft Auto series you know it will be pretty damn good. The game is basically about an unknown being giving you commands to kill a selection of murderers so he can capture the kills on tape and then sell them to the underworld for money. There is only one option for you, kill or be killed. There are plenty of weapons that you can use to do your bidding, from baseball bats to a seemingly harmless plastic bag. The ...

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Xbox 360) 27/04/2006

Ghost Recon is back in force

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Xbox 360) The Tom Clancy series of games have been going on for a long time now, and we now come to the newest installment in his legion of games. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (referred to ad GR:AW from now on). :::::Background::::: In GR:AW you control a captain named Scott Mitchell, known as Captain Scott Mitchell funnily enough, in the year 2013. Throughout the game you will be commanding a team of four (including yourself) known as Ghosts through a series of challenging recon missions. There are also a few support vehicles that will come to aid you with your missions. The story is basically about a raid in Mexico City where some presidents are taken hostage and it is up to you to find and rescue them, as well as track down the culprit. :::::Graphics::::: The first thing that hits you when you start playing the game are the graphics, it may even take some people two ro three minutes to recover from the amazement (slight exaggeration there). The detail on your playable character and your squad members is simply amazing. However when you look into the smaller things these great graphics seem to fall apart. For instance the cars, buildings and the ground all have low resolution textures. The enemy soldiers also are of a much lower standard to your squad. So with these things, why does the game still look so good? I will tell you... Firstly the lighting, the way the game sets out its lighting really makes you feel that you are there and that is very important in a ...

Condemned: Criminal Origins (Xbox 360) 10/02/2006

Condemned: A True Ciminals Origin.

Condemned: Criminal Origins (Xbox 360) Condemned: Criminal origins is the next game made by Monolith Productions and I in the same category as there last game F.E.A.R, survival horror. Is it scary? Well we shall soon see. Gameplay: You begin the game as a forensic officer investigating a crime seen that was discovered in an old abandoned apartment block. However the suspect is still inside the building and it is up to you to find and stop him, as your team mates have more or less ran for there life, ok so they climbed up a ladder, but its still trying to get away. Straight from the off, before you get to fight or even see any enemies you are put into the role of a forensic officer, you need to use various tools to find bits of evidence around the crime scene and then send the data collected back to the lab for analysis. This sort of thing makes the game more atmospheric and makes you feel like you are actually there. These scenes where you need to use the forensic tools are scattered all over the game and really add to the experience, a great feature for the game. The combat system in Condemned is also different from any other games that I have seen. The first thing you will notice when you start playing is the fact that you have very, and I mean very limited ammunition for your weapons, there are no ammo pickups in the game, if you run out of ammo you will need to find another gun, either off of an enemy or lying around in a cupboard or desk. However if you do run out of ammo, it does not mean that ... 18/01/2006 The one stop for Entertainment needs Have you been looking for a shop to do all your entertainment shopping from? Well then look no further than can tender to your every need, from DVDs, to Televisions to watch the DVD you just bought on, so lets have a look at what the site is like and the sort of things they sell. :::::::::: The Site ::::::::::'s website is remarkably easy to navigate, at the top of the screen there is a simple menu bar that will let you browse through the category of goods that you are interested in. Kameo: Elements of Power (Xbox 360) 16/01/2006

Kameo: Elements of Power

Kameo: Elements of Power (Xbox 360) If you have picked up an Xbox 360 this christmas, then you will know that Kameo is one of the most talked about games on it, and this is why. Gameplay: When you first look at Kamoe you may think "Oh, its just another platform game for the kids" well, you are completely wrong. Kameos unique gameplay offers people of all ages both fun and a challenge. The game starts you off on a pretty intense first level, with no trainig levels or anything like that, so straight away the game is challengeing you to think about what you need to do and how top do it. However as soon as this level is over the game then starts to teach you all the basics, well whats the point in that? You just performed lots of complex moves in the starting level, so basically it just teaches you what you already know. Kameo is an elf, she does however posess some rather special powers, she has the ability to transform into a wide variaty of creatures and monsters, known as "Elemental Warriors". Each elemental warrior has its own unique powers, from a boxing plant to an octapus type creature. Each of these give you varied gameplay, and it makes you think about which one you need to use to get past a particular puzzle. Beside playing through the game on your own there is a co-op mode, at the moment there is only offline co-op where two people use the same machine to play it, which hwile is fun could have been greatly improved as you can easily tell that the game was not designed for two people to be on it. In ...

Amped 3 (Xbox 360) 12/01/2006

Amped 3

Amped 3 (Xbox 360) Amped 3 is one of the Xbox 360's launch titles but is it one of the better ones? We shall see.. Gameplay: When you first look at Amped 3 you may think it is just one of your typical snowboarding games, just another SSX you may say, well you are wrong. Amped 3 has its own unique playing style, yes the controls are similar to other snowboarding games, yes the moves are the same, but that is where the similarities end. Amped 3 puts you in the role of a young man in a snowboarding crew, and it starts you off in a giant pink bunny suit, strange I know. Anyway you need to go round the mountains, and I say mountains because there are about 8 mountains in total for you to explore, however they need to be unlocked by completing the story mode first. You need to complete various tasks on the mountains, from grinding challenges, to impressing sponsors. The control system in the game is really simple to use, you use the left analog stick to move and the A, B, X and Y buttons to perform tricks while the right analog stick lets you do flips and spins, these controls make it really easy to pick up and play but hard to master. If you get board of snowboarding then there is a nice little snow mobile that you can jump on to, this gives you a way of driving back up the mountain or just doing some fancy tricks with. One of the most fun parts of the game would have to be sledging down the mountain, you get a choice of about twelve different sledges and each is as fun as the other, from a ...

Call of Duty 2 (Xbox 360) 11/01/2006

Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 (Xbox 360) Call of Duty 2 is one of the Xbox 360's launch titles, and it offers much more than the average game in the list. Priced at around £45.00 you will expect it to offer something special, well it does. Gameplay Call of Duty 2 following in the path of the original keeps the same kind of play, and by no means is this a bad thing. You get to play three different campaigns, as the Russians, the English and as the Americans. Each spanning a wide range of different types of missions and sceneries. There are a large number of weapons, ranging from pistols to sniper rifles and each is as realistic as the last. When you begin to play COD2 you go through a training level which gets you used to the basics, but then throws a number of enemies at you with little warning, which gives you a sense that a war really is happening and that you are part of it. The game play is fast, exiting and always tense. If you play it on the hardest difficulty the enemy AI is so good that if you move without thinking you will surely die. There are a variety of different levels, from being on foot and clearing out buildings, to driving a full loaded tiger tank, this gives the game a greater variety and adds to the enjoyment of playing it. The most well known thing about World War II would have to be D-Day and in Call of Duty 2 they have a unique level representing this day, and it is by far the best level in the game. Graphics: The graphics, well what else can I say apart from that they are mind ...

King Kong (Xbox 360) 11/01/2006

King Kong the Official Game of the Movie

King Kong (Xbox 360) King Kong the Official Game of the Movie….. Phew said it without passing out, is based on, well you guessed it King Kong the Movie. It won't take you long to get through King Kong, but its sometimes thrilling, often tense, and always entertaining adventure and is well worth checking out. Gameplay: King Kong has a unique interface, there are no health bars, no writing what so ever. This helps the game to emerge the player into the experience and it does it very well. When you are playing as man you have two types of weapons, guns or spears. When you are walking around you will only have a limited amount of ammunition for your guns, so you need to start using spears, these are found in various places around the island and are very easy to use, you basically pick one up and chuck it at whatever is after you, it is very rewarding when you see a spear driven into the skull of a charging dinosaur and then to see it drop to the ground dead. During the levels as a man there are exploration parts with puzzles to solve, but these puzzles merely involve you finding a handle which becomes repetitive and tedious after the third or fourth one you need to find, however it does make you think. The most entertaining parts of the game are when you play as Kong himself, swinging from tree to tree, ledge to ledge and climbing up the side of a cliff are dramatic and amazing to look at. The only downside to playing with Kong is the camera angles during the fights, they can sometimes swing ...
