Silver by Mail I ordered my Mums 50th Birthday present from here along with 4 pairs of earrings which would be Christmas gifts for friends. I chose next day delivery - having ordered on a Friday I expected the items to arrive on the Monday. I was pleasantly surprised when 3 pairs of earrings arrived on the Sat afternoon - however my Mum's gift did not arrive til the Tues and I am still waiting on the final pair of earrings 10 days later (the earrings are now listed on the website as out of stock til 08/01/10 which no one has informed me of). Thats not even the half of it though, my whole order cost £88.00 which was requested from my bank when the order was placed - because Silver by Mail sent my order out in three parts (one part I'm still waiting on) they charged the items in three lots, so my bank is missing the £88.00 -and- two other payments came out when the items were dispatched. My bank has since removed the extra £88.00 but it took over a week for them to do so. The quality of the items is fine and they are individually gift boxed as the website describes, some of the items had a small terrys chocolate inside the box, I'm not sure why it was only 2 out of the 6 things that I ordered that came with the chocolate, it was an unexpected surprise though. One pair of earrings that I ordered are much smaller than I expected but still quite pretty. Overall, the items are fairly nice but the service and delivery is poor. Maybe its just a bit of a mess with deliveries due to the season ... 21/11/2008

APPARENTLY- NOT TAKING ORDERS AS OF NOV 2008 My story is very much the same as everyone's here. I placed an order for a graco travel system (on 18th Oct) from what at first seems to be a very professional looking web site. The company then took my money - straight away and sent me an email confirmation stating that the goods would be delivered within 7-14 days. I waited..and waited.. I emailed..and finally (31st Oct) I got their typical "macro" response: "We apologise for the delay with your order. This will be dispatched in the next ten days. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. " Which from what I've read here, is the exact response everyone gets. So the waiting continued..and I decided to look up reviews..albeit a little too late (Lesson learned!) After seeing so many bad reviews I wrote an angry email on the 6th Nov...which was never replied to... I wrote a further email on the 18th Nov after contacting my bank and researching a little on Distance Selling Regulations, threatening legal action and this email was answered almost straight away with yet another macro response, worded exactly like so many other reveiws have said - "Babies247 has been trading online since 2005. Over the past months the site has experienced a significant increase in business which was not forecast. As a result we have had neither enough stock to satisfy all orders or enough staff to provide an adequate level of service to our customers. As a result of this Babies 247 is in the process of suspending its operations ...
