Mylo Xyloto; an album with a build up which challenged the best albums around. The obvious album fillers which make Coldplay one of the best bands around. The repetitive 'Paradise' and floor filler 'Every Tear Drop Is A Waterfall' have kept this album afloat.
The album has followed on from their other albums, but branching off into a more electric genre. However Mylo Xyloto is seen as being 'same old, same old' with the same big choruses, following the same recipe for the rest of their albums.
The album contains tracks such as Mylo Xyloto which is an instrumental to follow onto Hurts Like Heaven, a good track, which is one of the new tracks which has successfully found some originality.
Up in Flames, Us Against the World, and U.F.O, are all songs which are very similar songs, with the same strong vocals. In my opinion, these songs have not promoted Coldplays 'festival headliner' appearance, but just seen as an album fillers, lacking in inspiration. Us Against the World has tried to follow in the foot steps of the 'Fix you' with a slow introduction, but a build up of pace as the track progresses.
The album artwork is a massive success for me, there spray paint abstract theme is also carried through onto their live sets.
An average album in my opinion, which has been carried through with Coldplays past success. A few tracks which make the Radio track list daily, but the others are not even whispered.
