Sony MDRZX100B Fashionable Headphones- Good and on a Budget

Sony MDR-ZX100B As an avid music fan and as someone who uses a wide variety of electronic devices, my headphones are important for me. When I buy headphones, I am usually looking for a pair that is comfortable, adequate for all genres of music, durable, and affordable on my tight budget. In my opinion, Sony's MDRZX100B series of headphones fits all of my requirements, and is my standby for daily use. What I like most about Sony headphones is that they are reliable for listening to any kind of music. They are incredibly versatile and are a good pick for listening to most genres. The only genres I think the MDRZX100B struggles with are hip-hop and techno. The bass isn't really there, and it might not put out the raw volume you would desire. These headphones also don't deliver a very high fidelity sound, but that is forgivable because of their budget cost. Even though these are considered by Sony to be fashionable headphones, I personally don't think they look very interesting. Although I am okay with the all-black simple look, I do think many listeners will want a more interesting for their headphones. I will note, however, that I think I have seen an all white pair of these headphones before. These headphones are comfortable, but only after you break them in. I have bought multiple pairs of these headphones, and they all seem to be very tight when you first start wearing them. However, after a couple of days of wearing them they will become looser and will fit quite nicely. They are ...

Splatoon (Wii U) 04/06/2015

Splatoon- An Interesting "Shooter" With a Lack of Content

Splatoon (Wii U) I was excited for Splatoon from the first time I saw it. I had never seen anything like it, and I am a big fan of Nintendo's franchises. So when I bought Splatoon and started playing is, I was glad to see that I enjoyed it. I just think there is not enough content. The gameplay of Splatoon, in my opinion, is tons of fun. In Splatoon, you are a squid/human-like creature with a paint gun ( I know, it sounds strange). You use your gun and skills to compete in teams to cover the most surfaces as possible. This unique gameplay hook makes Splatoon different from any game I have ever seen. The shooting is tight and satisfying, and I think controlling your character is easy and satisfying. Splatoon has a single player story mode, but I don't think its the focus of the game. Its not very long, and I think it was more of an after thought. The multiplayer is definitely the focus of the Splatoon, and I think it is very enjoyable. Each game is only 3 minutes long, but they are fast and frantic. The guns are satisfying to use, and the maps lend themselves to strategy and smart team plays. I have already played multiplayer for many hours, and I expect to play it for many more. The graphics and sound of the game are great. Everything is very colorful and nice to look at, and the soundtrack is catchy and upbeat. I wish more companies would try developing more bright and colorful games, instead of the dark and drab games that usually come out. Splatoon does have one major, though. In ...

Vice Verses - Switchfoot 04/06/2015

Vice Verses by Switchfoot- An excellent rock album

Vice Verses - Switchfoot Switchfoot is one of my favorite bands of all time. I've listened to all of their albums, and I have even seen them in concert. Needless to say I was excited to hear Vice Verses when it was released. I liked their previous album, Hello Hurricane, but I felt like it was missing something. Luckily, I think Vice Verses hit all the right notes and it became one of my favorite Switchfoot albums. Vice Verses has a more rock and roll sound to it than the other albums. The songs have simple but effective melodies that I think will get stuck in your head after listening to them. Afterlife (the albums opening song), for instance, is a heavy rock song with loud and powerful guitars and commanding drums. Other tracks like The Original, The War Inside, Selling the News, Rise Above It, and Dark Horses also have unique heavy rock sounds. I personally like all of these tracks, with The Original and Dark Horses being the standout tracks. Vice Verses also has slower, more meaningful tracks. Songs like Restless, Blinding Light, Souvenirs, and Where I Belong are slower and more methodical. I think they contrast well with the rock tracks, and I love albums with diverse sounds. These songs also contain some of the best lyrics of the album. The standout track among these is definitely Where I Belong, which I think is truly special. I think its also worth mentioning that the band performs very well in this album. In my opinion they play really well together, and I like their charisma. I also ...

Nintendo 3DS 03/06/2015

The Nintendo 3ds- A Great Handheld For Kids and Adults

Nintendo 3DS I got my first 3ds simply so I could play Ocarina of Time 3d. Since then, I have played the 3ds for many, many hours and have upgraded to the "New 3ds". While its hardware isn't great, I think the original 3ds is a great handheld for both kids and adults. The 3ds' specs are not, to me at least, great. The graphics will never really blow you away, and the games aren't as technically impressive as games on the Playstation Vita. The sound,to me at least, doesn't always sound great either. It can sound very muffled and distorted. However, I don't think that these things are not what the 3ds is about. I think the 3ds is meant to be simple, fun entertainment for everyone. It may not be the prettiest, but, in my opinion, that doesn't really matter. The 3ds has a few features outside of playing games. The main selling point of the system is its stereoscopic 3d. It doesn't work well on this model (the first 3ds model), but when it does work, it looks really cool. The system also has two 3d capable cameras, which are low quality. They are mostly used for the A.R. (alternate reality) functionality the system has. Overall I think that the extra features are nice, but they are not the primary focus of the system (except maybe the 3d). I think that using the system is easy for all ages. The operating system has a very simple tile-based design like the Wii, which makes everything easy to find. If you run into problems, Nintendo's support can be very helpful and easy to contact. The ...

Wii Sports (Wii) 03/06/2015

Wii Sports- A Great First Experience for the Wii

Wii Sports (Wii) When I first saw the Wii in action, I was blown away. I had never seen motion control used in a game, let alone used well. So when I bought a Wii and popped in Wii Sports for the first time, needless to say I was blown away. I think Wii Sports is a fun game and an excellent first impression for the Wii. Wii Sports is a mini game collection based on five different sports: tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, and boxing. Wii Sports also contains alternate modes based on those games. All of the games are fun, but to me, tennis and bowling are definite standouts. They are simple, which means anyone can play them, but I think that they are tons of fun. The controls for all of the games are well implemented to. I think that they are incredibly intuitive, especially for being some of the first motion control games. The graphics and sound for the game are, to me, not great. The Wii was not a powerful machine, so the games didn't look great. I do think they could have put more songs in the game to give it some variety. The graphics aren't great, but they are functional and are not distracting. The value of Wii Sports is, in my opinion, pretty great, especially considering many Wii owners got this game for free. Each mini game has tremendous replay value, and I think they are great for parties. I have spent so many hours playing this game with my family that I would probably pay full price for this game. I wish more developers would bundle games with their systems at launch. Wii ...

Super Smash Bros for Wii U (Wii U) 02/06/2015

Super Smash Bros for Wii U- An excellent fighting/party game

Super Smash Bros for Wii U (Wii U) Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U is an excellent fighting game that, in my opinion, is one of the best games on the Wii U. I think that one of the best things about Smash is its gameplay. I really like the large and diverse character roster you can play as, and I really love how each character feels different and unique. I feel that the gameplay is simple enough that anyone can get into it, but complex enough that it will satisfy those that put significant time into the game. I have put over 100 hours into the game, and I don't think I will stop playing it anytime soon, In my opinion, Super Smash Bros for Wii U is one of the best looking and sounding games on the system. Its graphics are colorful and crisp, with amazing attention to detail. I found myself pausing the game to admire its character models and stage designs. I also feel that the sound is great as well. The soundtrack is diverse and interesting, and the voice acting for all of the characters is well done. I find myself listening to its soundtrack all the time even when I am not playing it. I feel like the value the game gives you is great as well. Super Smash Bros for Wii U has an incredible amount of modes and content that will keep you busy for hours. Even after more than 100 hours, I am still experiencing new and interesting things, and I am still impressed. The only thing I feel the game could have used is some kind of story, The game has absolutely no story, which might be a turn-off for many gamers. I ...
