Killzone: Liberation (PSP) 22/10/2006

"Hold Your Fire, This is a great game!"

Killzone: Liberation (PSP) This game is a fresh concept from all the other types of games on the PSP, eventhough it is a sequel of Killzone on the PS2, this game is no exception. The graphics are really nice as the game is played in 3rd person throughout, you can see all the acton from a clear perspective. The character animation is really creative and the environmental features are really smooth and sets the mood of warfare. The sounds are great as you can hear all the gunshots and sounds of bombs exploding really clearly, the choice of music may need to be improved but nevertheless its still effective. The gameplay is almost perfect as its simple and effective, you have a button to shoot, a button to throw a grenade and a button to reload. You also have a button to control your Buddy in different aspects of the game. The multiplayer modes are fantastic and will appeal to all multiplayer fans of this game. There's not a lot of online interaction that you can do but you can unlock a variety of character info and other stuff through multiplayer. Overall this is a great game to buy and i recommend it to everyone who enjoys shooting games to purchase this for the PSP, you wont be dissappointed.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 (PSP) 04/08/2006

A port of the PS2 version with minor adjustments

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 (PSP) Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 has already been released on the PS2 and was an exceptional game, wrestling fans from everywhere enjoyed the game, all the wrestlers signature moves, arenas and unlockable characters. This game is similiar to its twin, and plays it well, especially for a PSP game. Packing everything onto a 1.8GB UMD is probably qite hard. There are a number of modes such as Exhibition, where you can play al lthe favourate matches such as Royal Rumble, Hell in a Cell, and all the others. There's also the fantasy matches which you can have, which constists of you choosing a WWE Diva facing off against another Diva, where you goal is to strip her of her clothes, except for her bra and panties. There's also the all faithful, and trustworthy season mode. The season mode takes you on a whole wrestling packed season of a WWE Superstar, either from smackdown or raw. Whilst in the season you have the decision to choose your path, choosing your own fate at different cutscenes leading to your own WWE Superstar Story. You can also have matches in the backstage, the bar (or pub), and the car park. In these special matches you can beat your opponent senseless using your surroundings such as car boots and doors, including your weapons lying around. The trick is to irish whip them onto the front of the car and beat them silly. Whilst in the matches you have the momentum bar which adds some sort of realism to the game, as the more moves you carry out, the more your stamina/momentum ...

16 Blocks (DVD) 30/07/2006

An intense ride

16 Blocks (DVD) Hung-over, has-been cop Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) has seen better days, and all that the force expects out of him these days is to stay out of trouble while he's on the clock. One of his assignments is Eddie Bunker (Mos Def), a witness who has to testify before a grand jury at 10:00am. Unbeknownst to the two, a black van was trailing the pair, and after stopping off at a nearby liquor store to pick up some breakfast, Mosely emerges from the store just in time to save Eddie from the lethal bullet of a determined assassin. When backup arrives in the form of Detective Frank Nugent (David Morse), Mosely quickly realizes that the detective on Nugent's team is the same cop that Bunker is set to testify against. Now faced with the tough task of dodging bullets and eluding a massive onslaught of corrupt cops, Mosely gets his act together so can keep Bunker alive long enough to get him before the judge and ensure that justice is served. After blessing us with a great comic book adaptation of "Superman", and the birth of a top-notch action/buddy comedy known as "Lethal Weapon", director Richard Donner sadly didn't offer up his game face when he directed the already-doomed-from-the-start adaptation of Michael Crichton's "Timeline". But, as many critics said, that's because Paul Walker is in it (said actor is now enjoying success with his first good movie in a long time - "Eight Below"). Well, shut up, haters, because Donner has come back after 3 years of seclusion. Armed with Bruce ...

Pulp Fiction (Collector's Edition) (DVD) 30/07/2006

Words cannot describe it's excellence!

Pulp Fiction (Collector's Edition) (DVD) I was recommended by a friend to watch this movie on a friday night, I was definitely not ready for what was in store. This movie left me astonished and amazed! The actors performance was as good as it gets which included actors such as Bruce Willis, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman. This was a cornerstone for these actors careers andfor the director of the movie, Quentin Tarantino which led him to create more outstanding movies. This isn't your usual gangster/crime flick, there are a series of stories intertwined with each other, which clearly shows the ingeniusness of the story and script. You have to keep in mind that this movie changed the face of cinema in its time. I personally feel that it will be very difficult for other directors to compete with this masterpeice movie! Great, absolutely great! ...

Dead to Rights: Reckoning (PSP) 28/07/2006

Senseless Violence

Dead to Rights: Reckoning (PSP) Description Namco's hard-boiled cop Jack Stone and his K-9 partner Shadow are back in DEAD TO RIGHTS: Reckoning for the PSP. This time, Jack and Shadow must find a kidnapped informant in order to send the crime lord known as Whisper to jail. The gameplay is similar to the PS2 game DEAD TO RIGHTS 2, with most levels requiring the player to take down as many enemies as possible while accomplishing certain goals. There are also a number of bosses in the game. Like previous games in the series, players can enter slow-motion time to deliver a number of hits and summon Shadow to attack enemies. Jack has a number of new weapons at his disposal, as well as armor and health increases that can be found along the way. Jack has also learned a number of new disarms and lethal hand-to-hand skills, making him a force to be reckoned with. In addition to the single player mission, players can also challenge up to three friends in a game of deathmatch. Defeating the single player mission unlocks more character skins and maps for multiplayer mode. Gameplay It feels a lot like Max Payne only pretty stripped down. The gameplay is fast paced and total run-n-gun and gets pretty repetetive. Level after level, same thing. You go to a place and then a bunch of random people keep coming at you. You have to kill them all and then go to the next part of the level. The auto-aim system takes all the sill out that would have been there. The best part of the gameplay is probably the bullet time ...

Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot 27/07/2006

3.2 Megapixel Camera?!

Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot Background - Although its a successor to its predecessor, the K750i it has a 3.2 megapixel camera with Xenon Flash, a burst mode and photo blogging! Imaging - The k800i shoots exceptionally great still pictures with its autofocus and accurate colours. It may not take fantastic pictures in poorly lit conditions but is quite decent with its xenon flash. There is minimal defficiency between each shot take and its high resolution screen. There's also the fact of the BestPic burst mode which snaps 9 stills over a span of a second! It also has photo blogging which hassle free of posting to Google's blogger service, sharing and printing is quite straightforward. Calling - Although its signal reception is a tad bit ideal, it handles video and audio superbly, including its loudspeaker with good bluetooth support and fast camera switching whilst calling. Messaging - Eventhough the navigational pad is quite cramped it handles SMS, MMS and e-mail with absolute ease. Browsing - The browser has improved and seems reasonably well as it formats the content for the mobile phone. This doesnt mean that it stands out from the crowd but has a handy RSS Reader included. Battery Life - The talk time is approximately 5 hours straight and standby around the 8-day mark, overall it has quite decent battery life for a phone with such capability's, meanwhile the internal memory will probably be depleted before the battery has!
