Logitech Webcam C920-C 16/08/2017

The Solution for Our Conferences! - Logitech Webcam C920-C

Logitech Webcam C920-C Introduction When it comes to having video chats or video conferences, It’s important to have a camera you can depend on, with great quality, great design and great reliability. We’ve had a few webcams come into the shop before, and we do tend to use them not only for testing purposes, but also to hold conferences with our sister company. We recently decided to buy a new camera in the office for these conferences, as the old one was getting not only a little dated, but also a little faulty and incompatible with our Operating Systems. We took a look around, and decided on the Logitech C920-C Webcam (Business Version). Ever since then, we’ve certainly not been disappointed. Logitech have been around since 1981, and as they progressed from simple hardware that wasn’t really impressive to today’s level of hardware, they’ve really made some notable steps towards the future of technology with their innovative designs and robust products. Specifically, they have made quite some headway with their mice, keyboards and webcams. I’ve already done a review on the Logitech K120 keyboard and the accompanying mouse as a set, but this is definitely something I’m even more excited to be bringing your way purely and simply because ever since we bought it for our office, we’ve made some real progress, and had a lot of positive comments from business customers that we’ve had conferences with. The webcam is more than just a webcam in my opinion, it’s a useful business asset that we can use to ...

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 - mouse 15/08/2017

Ten Months Battery Life!? - Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 - mouse Introduction When it comes to mice, I think we all know I’m not talking about the squeaky kind with long tails and whiskers. We’re talking about the very friend that you’re probably using right now to navigate around your computer screen with the cursor, and if anyone has the ability to create amazing mice, it’s Microsoft. I’ve had experience over the years using a variety of different Microsoft products, not just mice and keyboards either, and so I know first-hand how they’ve developed and changed over the years. The Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 in Black is no exception. I’ve already reviewed the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, so it’s time for the 4000 now, and although they are similar, both mice do have quite a few differences over each other which I’m hoping I can highlight in this review! As I’ve said before, and as I’m sure I’ll say again, Microsoft have been around since 1975, which gives them plenty of experience in terms of what a customer looks for. For me, I look for products which I know will work well and last as long as possible, and how reliable a product will be is a huge contributor to whether or not I choose to buy any product, whether it be a mouse, keyboard or other peripheral, or even a piece of software. Reliability has definitely improved over the years, and this mouse is no exception at all. If I was to recommend this mouse to anyone, it would be because of the brand name – Microsoft have definitely earned their keep and my trust over ...

Asus ROG GL552JX-CN182H 14/08/2017

Built for Power! - Asus ROG GL552JX-CN182H

Asus ROG GL552JX-CN182H Introduction So after a short-lived weekend, I’m back yet again with another Laptop review. This time we’re going to be taking a look at the Asus ROG GL552JX, a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with huge potential and a lot of great features. I had this come into the shop for a customer who wanted a few extra bits and pieces doing to it before we ship it to them. I was really impressed immediately by the looks alone, never mind what was inside. Asus have been around since 1989, giving them a decent amount of years to gain experience, knowledge and technological advancement over their rivals. Sure, Asus aren’t the very best there is to offer in the computing world, but they do tend to score quite highly in my opinion, and I’ve never been let down by an Asus product yet which goes to show how great they are in terms of durability and reliability. More so, this laptop is a gaming laptop, and so Asus have been able to put to the test their very best skills and resources, and combine them with remarkable software and hardware, to form the ROG GL552JX. This is not the first gaming laptop Asus have created, in fact they have created an abundance of gaming laptops, and an abundance of different gaming peripherals and hardware for desktop computers as well. I definitely knew about their gaming laptops way before this one came into the shop, but what I didn’t quite know was just how good they actually were. Being an IT Technician, I have to deal with all sorts of different computers and ...

Kensington Pro Fit Mid-Size - mouse 11/08/2017

Kensignton's At It Again! - Kensington Pro Fit Mid-Size Mouse

Kensington Pro Fit Mid-Size - mouse Introduction It’s not every day I see a Kensington product. In particular, I have bought one myself for personal use, which I already reviewed before here for Ciao, however this time, we are talking about the Kensington Pro Fit Wired Mid-Size Mouse. It’s something completely new to our shop I believe, and as someone who sells a huge amount of computer peripherals, I thought I’d better have a go myself and test it out a little for Ciao, since it seems like a pretty nice looking mouse overall. Kensington have been around for almost 35 years, and they’ve brought with them some amazing electronics and computer peripherals over the years. Specifically, in this case their mice. Now obviously if you read my previous Kensington review named “Kensington's Little Life Saver!” you’ll get an idea of how happy I was with my little Kensington mouse for my laptop, and I have a feeling that the Kensington Pro Fit Mid-Size Mouse might just match, if not beat that little fella! It has all the features, as well as a professional design which makes it look great on the desk, even if you’re not too bothered about what a mouse looks like. I’m really excited to bring this to you for review purposes, and I hope my review can help you decide whether or not to buy! Design & Style So let’s start with the basics – the mouse looks great, with a textures top and non-textured, shiny smooth sides to aid with grip. It’s an all-black design apart from the Kensington logo which can be seen on top of the ...

Logitech 920-002479 11/08/2017

Great Keyboard, but a Little Loud - Logitech 920-002479 (K120)

Logitech 920-002479 Introduction You might already know by now that I sell a lot of different products in the shop. In the office we have so many different brands coming in, and all of them will eventually be bundled up or sold as single units for customers, however one caught my eye recently whilst checking through our stock, and it was the Logitech 920-002479, or more commonly, the K120. Now the reason I chose this particular keyboard to review is I actually own one myself for my own computer at home, and so I do have a little experience, actually a LOT of experience using it, and I’ve managed to buy more than one of them as well over the years due to how impressed I am. I also have the mouse which is included as part of the Logitech K120 mouse and keyboard bundle. Logitech, as I’ve said before have been around since 1981. They’ve produced a vast array of computer peripherals over the years, and their keyboards are usually quite reliable and robust. They are generally well-made and tend to have a few extra features internally, and also some extra design features which other brands might not. For example, they do tend to make a lot of spill-proof keyboards which the K120 is well-known to be spill-resistant, and so I decided to go ahead of get this product reviewed for Ciao. I can’t actually remember when I purchased the K120, it may well have been around a year ago, and I’ve really enjoyed using it as my everyday computer keyboard purely and simply because it does tend to be comfortable for ...

Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse - mouse 10/08/2017

A New, Innovative Look! - Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse

Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse - mouse Introduction So second review of the day now, and yet another Microsoft Mouse. This time we are dealing with the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse – another mouse in the Sculpt series with huge potential and unique shape which leads to increased comfort if you’re a heavy user, and even if you’re not so heavy. I’ve already reviewed a variety of mice and keyboards, and lately Microsoft have been the main brand coming into the shop right now. Their mice are generally very robust and reliable, and have a range of features not only internally, but also in their design. The Microsoft Sculpt Comfort is a unique little fella with great potential, and I just had to pick this one up for review purposes given it’s looks alone – never mind what lies behind that! Since 1975, Microsoft have released a range of different mice, keyboards and peripherals as I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, but nothing quite as impressive as this. This one seems to be something a little out of the ordinary. Something I haven’t really seen before. The mouse itself has a rather unique design with its own set of visuals which are sure to have you coming back to your computer or laptop again and again and thanking Microsoft for their innovative design here. When we get mice like this in the office we usually package them up as a bundle with a keyboard and mouse mat, or we combine them with a computer or laptop bundle for a customer depending on what they’re looking for. At the moment we haven’t had a massive ...

Sculpted to Perfection! - Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse

Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse - mouse Introduction So here we are again with another Microsoft product. Yes – it’s another mouse, but not just any mouse. This is the Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse, and when this came into the shop I just had to review it since I’ve already reviewed another Microsoft mouse recently, and they do seem to be coming into the office now a lot more frequently which tells me Microsoft have yet again managed to bring out some more new and exciting mice with new features and functionality. As we’ve said before, Microsoft have been around since 1975. They specialise in software, hardware and peripherals and it’s very rare indeed for a new Microsoft product to be poor quality. Over the years I’ve been a witness to their numerous different products including mice, keyboards, Operating Systems and peripherals, and I’ve seen first-hand how they have managed to go further and further up the ladder and constantly achieve better and more advanced milestones as a whole. Their products tend to look great, perform well and be user-friendly, and they never seem to fail in their customer support either even when something does go wrong. The mouse we are reviewing today is, again, the Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse. A small but mighty little mouse with a few extra features you wouldn’t normally see, and it has some really nice, professional looking design features which really caught my eye when I saw this particular model which is also available in different colours too. I was really impressed when I ...

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 - Limited Edition - mouse 09/08/2017

Wireless Mouse with Great Looks - Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 - Limited Edition - mouse Introduction So here we are again – reviewing yet another Microsoft product. This time we are reviewing a Limited Edition of mouse – the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 in a white, with a little black on there too, just behind the scroll wheel. Obviously mice like this which are labelled as “Limited Edition” can be quite rare and hard to find, but we are lucky enough to be selling this mouse in our shop along with another Microsoft product as a bundle, and so I decided to take a look while I can! It’s rare we really sell anything like this, with many of the products we sell being your normal everyday peripherals that nobody really hails as special, however we do sometimes get customers who have special requests and want a specific colour combination or product in general, and so we do try to source items that are difficult to source. Essentially when it comes to Microsoft, we all know they’ve been around since the dawn of time. In fact, as of the date of this review, Microsoft have been around for around forty-one years. They were originally founded on the fourth of April 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and they quickly became one of the world’s biggest and most well-known companies creating a range of software and hardware products for the world to see. Since then, Microsoft has made some really massive steps, and when it comes to their computer peripherals like mice and keyboards – you can bet they’re going to perform well, look great and do what they say on the ...

LINDY USB Keyboard and Mouse Extender 08/08/2017

Great Device - Unreasonably Priced! - LINDY USB Extender

LINDY USB Keyboard and Mouse Extender Introduction Not that extending a mouse and keyboard up to 300 meters is something I do regularly, but for some people it might be necessary or helpful to have such functionality in their home or office. I decided to review this little fella since it was in my list of products coming into our shop as of late, and it sounded like the sort of product I’d be interested in. Now obviously there isn’t really a massive amount of information to give about such a basic product, however I will try my best to tell you why I decided to review it anyway! USB extenders have been around for quite some time, and specifically using Ethernet cables to extend an otherwise limited-length USB cable has become quite popular and useful. USB cables lose signal strength and power over long distances without a repeater, and these can be quite expensive for some of the highest quality cables and repeaters out there – especially when you have to use quite a few of them to get up to 300 meters and still be able to use the device you’re using at that distance! Ethernet cables can be used to extend not only USB connections, but video and audio signals too. Design & Usage Now the design of this device is very simple. It has a standard USB to Ethernet adapter. This allows you to plug the USB end into your PC, and then attach an Ethernet cable to the other end. By this point you’ve basically made a connection from USB from the back of your computer to a male Ethernet end, which can then be plugged into ...

ASUS VivoBook S400CA CA071H 08/08/2017

Packed with Features You Wouldn't Expect! - ASUS VivoBook S400CA

ASUS VivoBook S400CA CA071H Introduction Asus was founded in April of 1989- that’s twenty-seven years ago from the time of this review. That, of course means they have twenty-seven years’ worth of experience in the technology field. From their computer peripherals and components, to their laptops – Asus have always managed to amaze me in everything they do. That’s one of the main reasons I chose to review this particular laptop that came into the shop today – the ASUS VivoBook S400CA CA071H. I saw this little phenomenon and thought why not – let’s give this a little test for review purposes. I’ve been impressed with most of the Asus products I’ve both sold and bought for personal use, and if anything ever has gone wrong, I’m happy to announce that the process of getting help and support has always been extremely quick and easy. Most of the time, being a qualified IT Technician I am able to solve things myself, but sometimes, such as when a fault has occurred with the hardware, it’s still necessary to return the product for RMA, which is basically returning it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement – I’m happy to say I’ve never had to do this personally, but with experience of doing this for customers, it has been a quick and easy process all the way through with Asus products. At first glance, this laptop is a great looking, professional laptop with a nice sized screen and plenty of in-built features. It’s perfect for someone who needs everyday computing, or someone who needs a good laptop for ...

Logitech B100 - mouse 06/08/2017

Great Little Mouse! - Logitech B100

Logitech B100 - mouse Introduction When it comes to mice and keyboards I think we all know by now that I sell a lot of them from previous reviews, and I always try to either sell them as a combo or separately depending on the customer’s needs. In this case, we’ll be reviewing the Logitech B100 USB mouse which not only comes as part of the Logitech K120 Keyboard and Mouse Bundle, but it is also sold separately, and is the main mouse I use on my computer at home. It’s a great, reliable little mouse with great precision and it really brings extra comfort when I’m using it – fitting perfectly in my hand, and looking great overall. I thought to myself, why not – let’s review it for Ciao! Logitech themselves have been around for quite some time – around thirty-five years ago to be exact in October of 1981, and the main reason they became so popular at that time was indeed because of their computer mice. From then on they’ve been one of my most sold brands in the shop, and they’ve developed their computer peripherals to levels which rival the competition quite well. This is another one of the many reasons I enjoy not only selling Logitech products, but using them for myself as well. As a matter of fact, I have the Logitech K120 in my own PC setup at home, which is what prompted me to review it in the first place as I mentioned above. Although a review of a mouse isn’t going to be huge, I feel this little mouse is worthy of being reviewed purely and simply because of how great it performs and how good ...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ70 04/08/2017

Capturing Every Moment Perfectly - Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ70

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ70 Introduction So here we are again with another camera review. As well as computers and peripherals we do tend to sell cameras too, and on this occasion we’re going to be talking specifically about the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ70. It’s another compact little camera with a lot of potential, and it’s manufactured by another of my favourite brands – Panasonic, whom have been around now since 1918 believe it or not! I think it’s safe to say given that information that they do have a lot of experience under their belt, and when it comes to their products, they always seem to find new and interesting ways of impressing me. Specifically, I love the way their cameras always look professional and stylish given how technology is constantly evolving, and they never fail to impress me with the range of features available in their products as a whole. When I first started business in my shop, we didn’t really sell cameras, and we didn’t sell anything to do with them at all apart from printers, obviously. We then started selling products relating to image and video storage, SD cards, MicroSD cards, Card readers etc… before we finally started selling cameras and other picture and video-taking equipment. We figured out it would bring us a lot more custom to widen the business into something a little broader, rather than just being focused on computers. That’s when I started seeing the range of different stock coming in such as Nikon, Panasonic, Canon etc… It was then that I started taking an ...

LG 24M38H 04/08/2017

A Great Dual-Monitor Tag Team! - LG 24M38H

LG 24M38H Introduction When it comes to monitors, I prefer a dual-monitor setup, and so I was looking for a type of monitor that will do well in terms of everyday use, but also do well for gaming as well, and since we do seem to sell a lot of LG products, I decided to see what monitors we had in stock that I could possibly review. We usually bundle monitors like these with computer setups, complete with the keyboard, mouse and speakers, so I was looking for something that would go well with that type of setup, and also something I can use for personal use outside of the office too. LG has always been one of my favourite manufacturers – purely and simply because they always come up with new and exciting products that really take quality to the next level. They have been going since around 1958 so they have a lot of years under their belt, coupled with a lot of experience in the field. This ultimately makes them not just good at what they do, but excellent at what they do. This is, of course one of the main reasons I decided to get this monitor, and as a matter of fact, I actually got two of them for a dual-monitor setup! The monitor is light in weight, not too bulky and has fantastic picture quality. This makes it perfect for gaming, or even just everyday office or home work in general. It’s not too expensive either, coming in at around £100 - £120 in price which I don’t think is that bad. Design & Style I like the fact that LG try to make all of their products look simple, but at ...

Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 L10W-B-101 03/08/2017

Small but Mighty! - Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 L10W-B-101

Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 L10W-B-101 Introduction When it comes to Laptops, I cannot imagine the amount I sell per day from the shop, and the amount of customer queries and orders I get in my office is unreal. Everyone out there is always looking to get up-to-date with their technology and everyone wants a laptop or computer that can do something new at the touch of a button. Luckily the technology market is constantly expanding to the point that as soon as a computer is released these days, it is automatically out of date immediately due to another computer being released with better or more advanced software or hardware. It really is a difficult thing to stay up to date with! Personally, I’ve not had a lot of Toshiba laptops, I prefer Asus or Lenovo for example, however when I saw this particular laptop in the office I decided to give it a quick test. We usually pre-install the laptops we sell with software depending on the needs of the customer, and so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give the Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 (L10W B 101) a little test drive and find out what we really are dealing with here. I’d already heard good things about the Toshiba Satellite range, as they are commonly pre-installed with a lot of features and functionality that other makes and models lack. Having taken a look around this laptop I can personally say I’m really impressed. It does the job perfectly if you don’t really care about the more advanced features, but if you do need something more from a laptop, ...

Hewlett-Packard LaserJet Pro M402n 02/08/2017

Speedy and Reliable! - Hewlett-Packard LaserJet Pro M402n

Hewlett-Packard LaserJet Pro M402n Introduction Here I am with yet another HP product – this time with the HP M402n LaserJet Pro Printer. Specifically, this review will be centred around the white version, but this printer does also come in other colours as well from what I’ve read in the user documentation. HP (Hewlett Packard) have never failed to surprise and impress with their printers. Sure – they have a bunch of other products on the market too, but in terms of printers, HP have been around for a long time and they have managed over the years to shape their products around what people are really looking for in print quality and overall professionalism. I’ve sold quite a few different printers here in the office, and when I noticed this particular one I decided to give it a little test for review purposes, but also to see how well it faired in our office. I sell a lot of printers on a daily basis, and this model came through recently in one of the orders. I’d heard of a similar model before and so I decided why not – let’s get it reviewed for Ciao! When I look for any product, whether it be a printer, scanner or even a computer, I look for something I know is going to perform well, look great and be reliable, and whilst I do have a lot of other printers in the office, this one stood out to me. It looks very compact and basic, but as we all know – it’s usually the printers that look like they’re nothing special which tend to be really good, and this is mostly the same with all products I sell. I ...
