Buster Keaton - The General (DVD) 10/12/2014

Special Agent Double 0 Keaton.

Buster Keaton - The General (DVD) Introduction Genre: Drama , Romance , Comedy Rating:Unrated Directed By: Buster Keaton , Clyde Bruckman Written By: Al Boasberg , Charles H. Smith In Theaters: Feb 5, 1927 Wide Runtime:1 hr. 19 min. "The General" is a silent era giant, released in 1926, by United Artists. United Artists if you wonder, was founded by D. W. Griffith, Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, and Douglas Fairbanks in 1919, with the fair intention of controlling their own interest and stop depending upon the powerful commercial studios that always twist movies. It's even around today, including members like Tom Cruise (He really needs another ''Top Gun''. In the day and age "The General" was made, in those United Artists were more stars than in the sky, Buster Keaton included. The film stars Buster Keaton of course, who co-directed it with Clyde Bruckman and it was mainly adapted by Al Boasberg, Bruckman and guess whom? Well, Keaton of course, the man did it all. It was inspired by the Great Locomotive Chase (military raid that occurred during the American Civil War) and at the time of its initial release, this movie costed $750,000. That is a whopping sum of money for that day and age hell, I only need about 2000 pounds for a new car. Besides film-wise, this was a very important move because it flopped, critically and financially, so expensive, yet so low rated and paid for that was the beginning of Buster Keaton's loss of financial independence. I am not a very big fan of silent films, actually ...

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 06/12/2014

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 - I rate it "Meh".

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Spoiler and heavy satire alert ! Introduction The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 is another product brought to you by the company who owns a Monopoly on teenage girl fantasies, comes the first part of the last part of the franchise (that is not about gay vampires). This is the third follow-up of the thinking girl "Twilight'' and won't be the last of course. It is the sequel to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and will be followed by the concluding entry, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (for some unknown reason). It again stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, and this time she must become a symbol of hope and a strong woman (not in like the other two ones whom she was assumed strong, but ended up being rescued by the entire male population of the world), Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark (this time he is even more of a burden to everyone) and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne (the guy that every woman would chose, and some men). This time you won't have that "Battle Royale" scenario in which everyone is on his own killing each other, so be prepared for about 2 hours of politics, searching for Peeta, and then some more politics, in a movie that is all about getting that extra buck out of a book series done properly. This movie merely scrapes the last book, it barely introduced it and it has kind of a bitter taste for book fans, splitting a last good book in 2 unnecessary movies seems to be a fashion nowadays. Mockingjay Part 1 is a 2014 American science ...

Steamboat Bill Jr (DVD) 02/12/2014

The calm within the storm

Steamboat Bill Jr (DVD) Introduction As a young lad, I have to admit movie-wise, Jackie Chan was my absolute hero. I never was a big Bruce Lee fan, mainly because I did not live in the Bruce Lee dominated era, but I did get to see all of Jackie's awesome movies as a youngster. The moments I loved the most were not the martial arts itself, but the awesome stunts the man did. He was completely insane and I was overly jealous. I admired the way he moved through windows and jumped into trees hitting every branch down and then recovering in Superman-ly fashion was blood pumping indeed. You might be asking at this point, why the hell am I talking about Jackie Chan on a movie that has nothing to do with him, belonging to an era way before Jackie was even born. Some of you might know this, the most won't... Buster Keaton was Jackie's hero talking stunt-wise. I was never the black and white movie fan, in fact I hated it, and never knew who was Buster Keaton, but I had to research it. When I did I was not impressed, I didn't want to watch movies older than fire itself and being mostly on the silent movie genre made it appeal even less. It was only a few years ago while watching some random videos on YouTube that I saw a black and white stunt in a movie, it was insane and dangerous. I researched it and found out it was from a Buster Keaton movie, the same one I am reviewing right now. I still DO NOT consider myself a fan black and white movies, the silent ones I really rather not see. I agree there are ...

Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa (DVD) 26/11/2014

I'll just call it BAD.

Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa (DVD) Introduction Movie Title: JACKASS PRESENTS: BAD GRANDPA Genre: Comedy, Documentary. Directed: Jeff Tremaine Written: Preston Lacy , Jeff Tremaine , Spike Jonze Released: Oct 25, 2013 Wide/ Jan 28, 2014 on DVD Runtime: 1 hr. 32 min. Rated R (for strong crude and sexual content throughout, language, some graphic nudity and brief drug use). Notable cast: Johnny Knoxville as Irving Zisman Jackson Nicoll as BillyJackson Georgina Cates as Kimmy Spike Jonze as Old Woman ?! It's been 11 years since Jackass The Movie hit teachers. The last one, Jackass 3D was released 3 years ago, that isn't that much, but feels like a lot. The main reason I think this happens is because they are innumerable. I might be judged because of this, but I am the kind of guy that enjoys a good dumb joke much more than the smart ones. There are different kinds of humor in this world, some enjoy stand-up comedy, some a smart joke, nothing beats an offensive joke for me, or a good fall. The first time I saw Jackass it really did it for me, I found the pain they inflicted on themselves hilarious for some reason. I didn't understand why somebody would do such a thing, they seem indestructible. We all have our bruises and fair share of scars, bad luck being the main cause, but Jesus how are they still alive?! I am scared to run faster, not to mention run after a bull with some firework in my anus, that is retarded but very funny indeed. The guys were cool, which didn't hurt also, they were funny and ...

Breaking Bad: The Complete Series (DVD) 23/11/2014

I am the one who knocks! Remember my name !

Breaking Bad: The Complete Series (DVD) Introduction Breaking Bad (2008–2013) is an American crime drama television series that originally aired on the AMC network for five seasons, from January 20, 2008 to September 29, 2013 and was created by Vince Gilligan. What can I say, a great goddamn job Vince Gillian. If you don't know about Breaking Bad, you either live in a cave and warm your body with fire, or you don't know anybody ever, because it's been a year now and they still won't shut up about it. I remember not wanting to see this show, the show was almost unheard of: a little tale of a highschool chemistry teacher in a dusty corner of America, toiling away in a life of quiet desperation, only to be told he's dying of cancer. This really good friend of mine didn't stop talking about it, EVER!! And I kept refusing the offer. One day I decided to give the series a try, for the sake of boredom, as a big fan of original stories I got insane with watching it, at the time the show only had one season, I'm not the guy that gets hooked easily, but this got me on a diet, I burned through the first season in a day and then hated my friend for showing it to me and having to wait. We are no longer friends, because it showed me this and now I never shut up about it, jokes aside watch it. Notable Cast Bryan Cranston as Walter White Anna Gunn as Skyler White (Hate her) Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman Dean Norris as Hank Schrader Betsy Brandt as Marie Schrader RJ Mitte as Walter White, Jr. Bob Odenkirk as Saul ...

Chariots of the Gods? - Erich Von Daniken 21/11/2014

I don't really know how this works ... Must be aliens

Chariots of the Gods? - Erich Von Daniken Backround Do you remember those days that History Channel was all about the history, well the true one, at least, now it's all Hitler's diaries and Aliens. Talking about the second one, in case you did not know, we have one and only one to blame for History's Channel departure from the realm of the sane. The book that started it all, an actual job for people that would be unemployed without its headless claim, it's Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Daniken. Chariots of the Gods? Unsolved Mysteries of the Past is a is a book authored in 1968 by Erich von Daniken, prior to publication, the book was extensively rewritten by its editor, Wilhelm Roggersdor and involves the hypothesis that the technologies and religions of many ancient civilizations were given to them by ancient astronauts who were welcomed as gods. It basically states that the good old Gods we all know and love, from Christianity to Islam, they claim the hand of aliens, of which we as silly dumb primates confused with Gods. It however doesn't stop there, it's indeed the first book to introduce the shocking theory that ancient Earth had been visited by aliens, but they drift even further, claiming the hand of aliens in human biological and social evolution. The book becomes a world-famous bestseller that not only withstood the test of time, but sparked a world-wide interest in people with more interest in the occult than the truth (it appears they are many) and spark of the author's own popular sequel, The ...

Apple iPhone 6 16GB 17/11/2014

iPhone 6 16GB - A jump into the best Smartphone availabe place.

Apple iPhone 6 16GB What do I have to say for myself I few days ago, my laptop broke down, for the 100th time in the last month. I as a member of this 21st century am completely obsessed with technology, I have to keep up with Facebook uploads, news and the weather, and watching the TV is now a rare animal to me, I haven't turned the TV on since the last ice age, not sure if it still works. Normally it would be a painful experience to keep up with all of that, of course I had to look on Ciao and try and rate all you guys accordingly, and with this phone it's just simple. It's faster and runs smoother than my laptop, so although I was very much skeptical with this purchase, I am now quite happy and feel rather smug about it. I am a tech freak, I have owned every iPhone since the 4 to the 6, including Mackbooks and IPads. Not only this, but I also owned almost every flagship Android device since the first expiry to the Smasung Galaxy s5. I rarely keep smartphones more than 6 months and almost never bought a new one, I always exchange them, or sell them and put a little extra so I can buy whatever I want. Right now I have an iPhone 5 and this iPhone 6 I bought about 3 weeks ago. I used to have the same iPhone 5 and a white iPhone 5s, I loved that phone and everything about it, it was small and beautiful, fast as light and never had a problem with the Touch ID. When I had the opportunity to exchange it for an iPhone 6 and pay a little extra cash I didn't jump in because from photos and videos I ...

PVL Mutant Pump 14/11/2014

PVL Mutant Pump - Expensive but effective pumps.

PVL Mutant Pump Introduction I don't know if you knew this about me, but I used to be a main Thai fighter, then continued to kick-boxing and then MMA. Some time ago, I quit those sports and began bodybuilding. My country really has a "NO" policy, even with sport supplements, they are not educated in nutrition, in fact, I fondly remember the first time I bough a protein bag, my parents thought I was doing drugs, lol. After a few years a lot has changed, besides my humble opinion on the matter, my weight and body changed a lot. At this point in time, I took a lot supplement and can certainly have a a strong, formed opinion about any of them out there, in fact, I got a personal trainer diploma, but I don't use it, engineering is so much more fulfilling. The first time I heard about nitric oxide supplement's was probably 3 years ago. They started to get more and more popular and slowly but surely they took a cozy place on the market. Now they are replacing creatine, people use them a lot, although they don't know how it really works, mainly because the fast and visible effects. MUTANT Nutrition is now becoming stronger in my country too, they are very cheap compared to other manufacturers and they deliver high end products. I bought this during my bulking phase. The product MUTANT Nutrition is a supplement company from Canada that are doing a great job delivering cheap, but very high quality products to a US dominated market. I began using this from when I was out of money, and ...

The Endless River - Pink Floyd 11/11/2014

It has been quite the journey.

The Endless River - Pink Floyd Introduction The Endless River is the fifteenth and final studio album by British progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Now if you lived under a rock for the last... century, Pink Floyd were a English rock band formed in London in 1965 by students Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music, with those philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows they became one of the giants of music and one of the most influential groups in the history of popular music. The album is mostly comprises instrumental and ambient music and was recorded and created in the entire history of the band. Backround It has a somewhat of a hidden message. Not the usual hidden message of those intricate lyrics we all know and love, but it's mainly a tribute to Richard Wright. Roger Waters whom was one of the founding members of the band was in terrible relationships with the other members. In 1985 he departured and failed the attempt to dissolve the band. Keyboardist Richard Wright had even been fired by Waters during the recording ...

Good thing the other 1500 homosexual animals don't worry about it

For the Bible Tells Me So (DVD) What is it ? For the Bible Tells Me So is a 2007 American documentary film directed by Daniel G. Karslake, basically a pro homosexual propaganda. A necessary depiction about the ongoing conflict between the Gay community and the all-knowing superior teaching of Christianity, as well as various interpretations of what the Bible says about same-sex sexuality. Much of the Documentary is about gay people, that have been raised with deep Christian roots, a journey about unthinkable Horror for their indoctrinated parents, a gay son or daughter .How real is this nightmare from the parents' point of view, since gay people are sinners and abominations that are bound to go to Hell, and about the everyday struggle of the children, growing up in alienation due to the readjustment of their belief system. Some of the stories have happy endings, some not so much, but it really tries to render the viewer emotion all at every point of the way. Awards The film received positive reviews from critics. Carolina Herrera 212 NYC Men Eau de Toilette 06/11/2014

212 Men NYC - Smells like the perfect night in New York !

Carolina Herrera 212 NYC Men Eau de Toilette Introduction I was stunned to see no reviews for this legend, if you didn't know this already, this iconic fragrance was launched by the design house of Carolina Herrera in 1997. Carolina Herrera 212 For Men was by Alberto Morillas, Rosendo Mateu and Ann Gottlieb (one of the finest noses the Earth has ever produced). At one point in time, about 1 in 10 men smelled at 212 Men, and they are not to blame, it's one of the most versatile fragrances ever made. My clash with this perfume happened the first time about 10 years ago. I was stunned, I have never smelled anything like it and remember that feel like it was yesterday, every time I open that magnetic cap, it's pure magic, it's the scent of a generation coming at me one more time. I don't remember the number of bottles I have used by now, but I bought this one about 8 months ago, it is harder and harder to find, it is a dying legend sadly and I am really thinking about buying 1000 units in case they disappear, just in case. First Impressions This might be one of the strongest first impressions that the perfume world has to offer. The fragrance comes in a gray square box, with the fragrance name on it, written in black letters (so far so good). When you open the box, you will be impressed. You will find a bottle shaped like a cylinder. The bottle itself is usually gray as the box, with the numbers "212" on one face, and "MEN" in the opposite side. The letters have the glass like texture and the color blue. Although it ...

I Feel Good! - John Lee Hooker 05/11/2014

John Lee Hooker - I Feel Good! I'll be back Sunday !

I Feel Good! - John Lee Hooker Introduction John Lee Hooker was was an American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. Born in August 22, 1917, he left this World in June 21, 2001. I remember the day he died, happened 6 days before my birthday. I felt sadness and sorrow and nobody understood why, because none of my friends knew whom he was. I am a strange fella for this day and age, I thrive either with smart music, or that type of music that has soul. This is just that, you can feel that old son of a sharecropper soul while performing an electric guitar-style adaptation of Delta blues. Needless to say it was a all Blues party that year for my birthday, and my friends wanted none of it. Hooker often incorporated other elements, including talking blues and early North Mississippi Hill country blues. He developed his own driving-rhythm boogie style, far different from the one others had if you have the ear to listen. I am a very big fan of the Blues myself and have a old Jazz shop near me that's almost in ruins. I and probably the owner's mother are the only ones buying from it anymore, but I just love it there. I can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee while exceptional singers belonging to the same species as me howl their pain into my ear drums. The album The album contains a total of 9 tracks ( Not like today's albums of 5098 tracks and not one with a soul). tracks A1 I Feel Good 4:05 A2 Baby Baby 4:27 A3 Dazie Mae 4:23 A4 Stand By 6:20 A5 Going Home 3:05 B1 Looking Back Over My Day 4:30 B2 Roll ...

Is Religion As Popular As It Used To Be? 01/11/2014

When Religion dies, people will take charge themselves.

Is Religion As Popular As It Used To Be? This really feels like faith, when I saw the subject I had my eyes on it. Not because of the prize or even the appreciation, but because this particular subject, I feel embarrassed for the 21st century. I really need to think while writing this, the real challenge will be keeping it this short, and I would surely appreciate if you read this thoroughly. First I shall start with the first question. Is religion in the decline and far less important that used to be? I am really glad to say to you that it is. Religion holds a far weaker hold on society than used to have and this is really easy to tell without statistics. With the violent advance education is making, forcing his way into the human brain with the help of internet, religious dogmas and make belief have less room. We as humans, have a natural curiosity to the unknown, we try to explain it and control it, and as science makes serious advance religion goes out the back door in shame. I was raised to be religious, my rights were denied and my indoctrination started early, as an intelligent being, questions will be asked, and answers should be given. Not idiotic, faith based answers, but the ones that make sense, looking at the real evidence, touching and feeling the real world and understanding reality as the only one we will ever have. I really want everyone to go read the Bible, The Coran or Liber Linteus. They are dozens of them, one more ridiculous than the other and each borrows from the precedent. You ...

Wolf (DVD) 31/10/2014

"Wolf" is a classic, timeless werewolf movie.

Wolf (DVD) In light of my last review about "The Blacklist " with the now famous James Spader, I decided to make a review about a movie most of you people overlook, but it's one of my personal favorites of the werewolf genre. If you have seen this movie and do not understand what I am talking about, you won't in a second worry, but first: * Beware ! Spoilers ahead( Duh...) although this is a 1994 movie, it's older than fire itself you should of seen it by now. * This is a film only review ! * I can only speak for myself, there is a good chance that you will not share my opinion about this one... I really want to make this review because first and foremost, it's an awesome movie, I do not consider it horror as it's not very scary, but it has a very good vibe, that launches you into childhood instantly, when this movie was much scarier and Jack Nicholson didn't look 128 years old. Second James Spader is a lovely actor, he is tough and really makes it shine where others can't, take a look at him when he was a young, blonde stud, and his name never made it on the cover of the DVD, he had no room in between Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer. The Movie Created in 1994, “Wolf is directed by Mike Nichols who has directed such highly regarded films such as “The Graduate” and “Silkwood”. “Wolf” appears to be his first horror genre film, brought to life very well I might say by Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer in the lead roles. Main cast Jack Nicholson as Will Randall Michelle ...
