Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle (Nintendo 3DS) 13/06/2016

Puzzles with Professor Layton DS

Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle (Nintendo 3DS) So at Christmas I received a new DS, needless to say I was more than happy. I had a DS many years ago and sadly it go lost. So plenty new games to try, my favourite are puzzle games. Which there is ample to choose from. I do have a soft spot for the Professor Layton series, it’s a mystery within puzzles and brain teasers. Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask 3DS ‘Join Professor Layton in his latest adventure as he uncovers the mystery of the Miracle Mask! Attempt to solve over 150 new puzzles to help the professor stop the Masked Gentleman from terrorising Monte d'Or. Follow Layton as he delves deeper into his past to help unlock the mysteries of the present, now beautifully animated in 3D.’ - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9089644.htm My Findings: I have played a few of the Professor Layton games and really enjoyed them, so I couldn’t wait to play this when I opened it at Christmas. The Professor Layton series started in 2007 and consist of – Professor Layton and the Curious Village Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box/Pandora's Box Professor Layton and the Unwound Future/Lost Future Professor Layton and the Last Specter/Spectre's Call Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy The game I am playing right now is Miracle Mask, and the game plays out in an adventure story where you go through the plot but on route you have to complete puzzles. With each ...

Boots Zingy Shower Gel 11/04/2016

Not so Zingy

Boots Zingy Shower Gel When going into my shower there is a silly amount of shower gels, so using the rest of them up before purchasing anymore! My favourite ones I like are fruity scented one, unusual ones like chocolate cake scented. I think it is rather funny when my partner goes for a shower and comes back smelling like chocolate fudge cake. Boots Zingy Cool Coconut Shower Gel: Smooth on and splash clean for a moisturised feeling My Findings: I use the shower a lot, I love my baths but at times showers are just more effective. For just over a week I have used this shower gel every day and well now I’ve finally given up. I hate waste, but this shower gel really doesn’t cut it. I normally love coconut but sadly this is just too artificial for my liking. It is like a coconut plastic concoction it states on the packaging ‘this is not a food’ and well by the fragrance you wouldn’t eat it even if it was a cake! This shower gel is medium consistency and a translucent white in colour. You don’t need too much to achieve a decent lather. It does feel nice on my skin at first rather creamy but that is certainly short lived. The fragrance isn’t all that strong which I think is a good thing. Still it is refreshing within the shower as it did leave my skin feeling clean. Once dried off you cannot smell any of the fragrance really, my skin did feel clean but also very dry at the same time. That dry it started to feel tight and uncomfortable so I had to give myself a good moisturising after each use of ...

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum 29/03/2016

I want Candy!

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum I want Candy!! I did some shopping at my local Boots, I had birthday gifts I needed to purchase so I went for fragrance and the lovely assistant there gave me a few samples for myself! Bonus! I love my scents and do get through a lot throught out the year and now I’ve added another to my list. Prada Candy Eau De Parfum ‘Prada Candy is instantly seductive, an explosion of shocking pink and gold, showing a new facet of Prada femininity. Prada Candy is a fragrance with a novel olfactory balance combining exceptionally high-quality ingredients in excessive proportions. Magnified by White Musks, noble Benzoin comes together with a modern Caramel accord to give the fragrance a truly unique signature.’ - http://www.prada.com/en/fragrance/woman/candy/prada-candy.html My Findings: I must admit when looking for a fragrance Prada isn’t one that comes to mind and if I never had some samples I probably wouldn’t have tried it. So I’m certainly glad the sales assistant gave me some to try. I wasn’t all that sure in what to expect, judging by the name Candy I was thinking it was going to be sweet and maybe nostalgic in some way. For me when I think about sweets/candy it reminds me of childhood. 'Top Note: Musk' 'Middle Note: Benzoin' 'Bottom Note: Caramel' Scents all act different on everyone’s skin due to oils in our skin so for me when I first sprayed this I certainly detect the top note of musk just delicately fragrant on my skin. I was expecting this to be overly sweet but infact ...

Nylabone Dura Chew Chicken Souper 21/03/2016

Oliver loves it

Nylabone Dura Chew Chicken Souper Some of you will know I have a Chocolate Labrador called Oliver, he is the biggest Labrador I have ever seen just gone two years old and just over 45kg. With that you might think he is overweight well his rather skinny. He is long and tall wide shoulders and very lively! Nylabone Dura Chew Designed for powerful chewers. Bristles raised during chewing help clean teeth and control plaque & tartar build-up. - http://www.nylabone.com/product-finder/by-product-type/dura-chew-bone-chicken.htm My Findings: I never had to purchase toys like this with my last boy Josh he never destroyed anything and was amazingly gentle. Oliver is from the same bloodline and would be great nephew to Josh, however the two couldn’t be more different. Oliver is hard work and can be very destructive. Cheaper toys don’t last him more than minutes, so I had to go searching for toys that would cater for extreme chewers. Oliver is certainly a hard-core chewer one of the brands I’ve had better luck with is Nylabone. I recently purchased another one as the ones he has, his now worn the edges down. I went with the Dura chew which states it is chicken flavour, it doesn’t smell like chicken and nor does it look like chicken. Oliver has had this one before and I went with it again as I know I will get a couple of months use. (He has several other Nylabone products his playing with too) It is a very hard bone like shape and is slightly heavier than other bone toys. Oliver loves it which is the most important ...

Oral B All Around Protection Clean Mint 15/03/2016

Expert Clean Teeth

Oral B All Around Protection Clean Mint One thing I am not lazy about is my oral hygiene and the UK has come a long way over the years. I have tried many toothpaste, I remember I used to love the strawberry ones as a child sadly the grown up ones are not as nice! Oral-B Pro Expert Toothpaste ‘Oral-B Pro Expert Professional Protection Clean Mint Toothpaste developed with Oral-B experts protects the 8 areas dentists check most. It contains Stannous Fluoride Complex, a unique combination of ingredients. It targets and protect against the issues it finds in your mouth: cavities, plaque, gum problems, sensitivity, stains, bad breath, tartar and enamel erosion.’ - http://www.oralb.co.uk/en-GB/productdetail/oral-b-pro-expert-professional-clean-mint-toothpaste/#readreview My Findings: I’m not a fan of toothpastes that just foam everywhere, first thing of a morning just make me feel like I’m going to be sick. So my first like when it comes to this toothpaste is the fact it doesn’t foam up like a fire extinguisher has just exploded in my mouth. What it claims to help with – 'Cavities' – Luckily I have only ever had one filling in my lifetime so far and I do believe that is down to good hygiene. I feel that this toothpaste does deliver in helping I don’t get any more. 'Gums' – Been using this product a long time now and I can see that my gums have a very rosy healthy appearance. 'Plaque' – Before this product I noticed I used to get a very small build up at the back of my teeth, my teeth now feel clean and smooth. ...

Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Night Cream 14/03/2016

Simple, working through the night!

Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Night Cream If you are a follower of my reviews you will notice I do review a lot of beauty products, moisturisers have always been a part of my beauty routine and for a while now I have stuck with products from Simple. They are amazingly priced and work great on my skin. Simple ‘When your skin's happy and looking youthful, you feel healthier and happier too! Regeneration Age Resisting Night Cream contains a special blend of ingredients that help to revitalise and restore your skin throughout the night. Perfect for even sensitive skin’ - http://www.simple.co.uk/our-products/product/regeneration-age-resisting-night-cream.html My Findings: I have been using this product for well over a year now just purchasing a new tube just last week. I’ve even got my partner using this stuff! I think it is family thing too when it comes to moisturising, I remember when I was a little girl my Nan used to always moisturise and so did my mom. I was around 12/13 years old when I got into a proper routine. My skin has certainly thanked me for this. This product also has the matching day cream which I also use, there is a difference in consistency between them. The day cream is thicker and soaks into the skin much faster, the night cream feels more like a serum and does take longer for the skin to absorb. Which I personally don’t mind I’m going to bed anyway. Even though it takes longer to absorb into the skin it isn’t sticky or heavy in anyway. My skin feels amazingly soft once I have woken. It ...

Christian Dior Rouge Dior Lipcolor 01/03/2016

A bit of Dior

Christian Dior Rouge Dior Lipcolor So here we are with another make-up item, sorry guys! I wonder if I can get all my make-up reviewed? I have a massive range of products I have tried and tested over the years, some I didn’t like and need to throw away and some I adore. I go from budget make-up to higher end I don’t really mind what scale it is on long as the item works to how I like. Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick ‘Rouge Dior adds a couture touch to your style signature. Like a Dior bag, the iconic Dior red is the mark of ultimate chic. It dresses the lips in timelessly elegant colour with a sensual lipcare texture that leaves a radiant satiny finish.’ - http://www.dior.com/beauty/engb/fragrance-beauty/makeup/lips/lipsticks/rouge-dior/pr-ralrougedior-y0027850-couturecolourvoluptuouscare.html My Findings One of my favourite things is lipstick I love and adore trying new colours both subtle and bold shades / tones. This one is in my top five I would say, not one I use a lot as well I do enjoy kissing my partner and this isn’t all that smudge proof, so it’s a great one for going to work or when out with the girls. It doesn’t wear off fast like some lipsticks can. It does stay put for a good while, if you are eating and drinking of course it will wear faster but you would expect that from most lipsticks and it doesn’t claim to be smudge proof or a lip stain. When it comes to lipsticks my pet hates are ones that leave an oily texture, feel uncomfortable on my lips or ones that dry my lips out. This I’m pleased to ...

BeneFit Fakeup Concealer 01/03/2016

How to Fake it....

BeneFit Fakeup Concealer As you know I love my beauty products and one of my favourite brands is Benefit, yes a little on the pricey side but more than worth it. Benefit Fakeup Under Eye Concealer ‘This hydrating crease-control concealer - with vitamin E & apple seed extract - hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines for a silky smooth, ultra-natural look. Available in three shades. It's proven to keep skin hydrated for six hours!’ - https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/uk/en-gb/product/fakeup-hydrating-under-eye-concealer My Findings: We all have days where we burnt the midnight oil and showing all over our faces. I’m always getting dark circles under my eyes. My little nephew used to call me rainbow eyes as under my eyes looked darkish but had a bruised kind of tone with blues, greens and purples. Having rather bad joint issues my sleep suffers a lot and well I don’t want that to show on my face. It was a while back I was picking up some mascara up from the Benefit counter and the assistant asked if I wanted to try their new product. So of course I agreed, this comes in three shades (light, medium and deep) my skin is rather pale so she used their shade light. It comes in a tube like a lipstick and she just rub it under my eyes. The difference was genius! It didn’t even look like I was wearing anything my under eyes just looked healthy and bright. With that excellent sales pitch I am now I’m my third tube, for a concealer it blends well, it is light and doesn’t dry my skin out. How I use this ...

Vicks VapoRub 29/02/2016

Super Rub

Vicks VapoRub More often than not I’m ill don’t understand why I’m ill so much. My GP seems to think as I’m always in pain from joint issues it brings me down and easier to pick up bugs. In my medicine cupboard you will always seem certain items and this is one of them. Vicks VapoRub ‘Vicks VapoRub is an ointment which is used to relieve nasal catarrh (inflammation of mucous membranes in the nose and throat), congestion (a blocked nose), sore throat and coughs due to colds. Vicks VapoRub contains four active ingredients: Camphor, Turpentine oil, Levomenthol and Eucalyptus oil.’ - http://www.vicks.co.uk/products/decongestants/vicks-vaporub-ointment/ My Findings: One of the worse things for me is a blocked nose and headache, I just hate it. Being asthmatic I’m very limited in what I can use for any form of relief. One of the things I suffer from the most is sinusitis and this is one of the main products I use to aid some comfort. If you have ever smelt this product then you know how powerful the fragrance is, but it does work wonders. Sinusitis makes me feel like my head is going to explode, I can’t breathe through my nose and keep breathing through my mouth is drying my throat out and starts to aggravate my asthma. So the first thing I do is melt some Vaporub in a bowl with boiled water, I just lean my head over and let the steam and vaporub do its job. I can feel my nose start to drip (sorry gross I know) it doesn’t completely unblock my nose but is helps greatly and I do that a ...

BeneFit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss 24/02/2016

Super Sexy Lips

BeneFit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss I love my lip gloss, balms, lipsticks and well I have way more than I need! Each coat and bag I own you will normally find one in and not to mention my make-up bags. One of the brands I love is Benefit they do some great items for your lips. Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss ‘Our soft & silky glosses glide on sooo smooth, drenching lips in luscious colour from crystal clear to hot pink. Apply to lips for luscious coverage and add a little extra to the centre of your bottom lip to make your pout look fuller!’ - https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/uk/en-gb/product/ultra-plush-lip-gloss My Findings: This gloss is a little treasure in my beauty arsenal and I really do just love everything about it. Over the years I have used a lot of different lip glosses. Some can be heavy, sticky, taste horrid and just wear off as soon as it has been applied. Happy to report this is one of the god ones! This product boasts to be – * Never sticky * Gives lips a sexy sheen * Luxurious formula I believe this is very true to their words from Benefit, they have this gloss in several different shades. The shade I have is lollibop which is a hot pink colour. I normally go for darker and deeper tones but I picked this for my day time make-up or when I’m going for a more natural look. This product comes in a fancy tube and looks rather show biz which just makes it more appealing. It is a little larger than some glosses but still easy to pop in your bag to take it with you, if you should need a top ...

Are the British becoming too dependent on computers? 23/02/2016

Are the British becoming too dependent on computers?

Are the British becoming too dependent on computers? Are the British becoming too dependent on computers? 'Pros -' * We can share ideas worldwide * Information, great resource aid * Contact with family and friends that live a long distance * Help business, small and large * Less able people gives freedom helping with everyday life * Stores large amounts of data, we would have no trees left if we had to print everything! * Can make money 'Cons -' * Making us lazy * Less physically social * Can desensitise us * Aids in addiction - gambling * Not using our brain as much * Can lose money * Easy to use as a bullying tool * Distraction Well in a nutshell I certainly think so, but then, is it really our fault? We live in a world that is so computer oriented it seems like we are just adapting to the times so to speak. So the current café issue is asking the question - 'Are the British becoming too dependent on computers?' And this does interest me as for me I feel it is a good and bad thing. Computers help us so much, some people it is how they earn their living with reviews etc. Most jobs require computers and it does make things more effective and certainly faster. If they are working right that is! So frustrating when you are doing an important job yet your computer feels the need to have a meltdown. Or being on a laptop as most people are and the power is running out, yet you are comfortable in bed and don’t want to move. I guess for me I feel it has made us lazy over the years, I rarely do maths in my head any ...

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo 22/02/2016

Refreshed Hair with a sexy Scent

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo I must admit I do hate washing my hair, yet something I have to do of course. However there are times when I have been in a rush so I turn to dry shampoo. I have tried several brands over the years yet none I don’t think are as good as Batiste. Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo ‘Caribbean heat, coconut aromas and party vibes are locked into this Tropical edition. It’s the instant, deliciously exotic way to get clean, fresh hair full of body and texture. And there’s no need for water!’ - http://www.batistehair.co.uk/fragrance/tropical My Findings: We do live in a busy world and I don’t know how I lived my life before this wonder product came to light. I have long thick hair with a side fringe and it is more my fringe I use this dry shampoo for, as that seems to get greasy quicker than the rest of my hair. I guess that is down to the fact after washing my face I always use a moisturiser and again before I go bed I use a moisturiser on my face, plus wearing making up all day. These things all contribute in making my hair greasy. This dry shampoo is very easy to use, just spray around the roots of the hair appox 30cm distance. Give your hair a rub and brush and the job is done. As my hair is dark, at first you can see some white powder from the product but giving my hair a rub and brushing will get rid of any white powder left. I can see pretty much straight away the difference in my hair. My fringe has a new lease of life and looks clean. What I also love is the amazing fresh ...

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint 22/02/2016

Jelly Bean Paint

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint I very much enjoy having my nails painted, I do normally stick to darker colours but on occasions I do have some bright colours. I don’t tend to stick to any one brand, it is normally a case if I like the colour I will give it a try. Sadly not all of them work well, nothing worse than applying polish to your nails only to see an hour later they have already chipped! Barry M Gelly Hi Shine: ‘Hi shine Gel effect Nail Paint provides an extra glossy finish’ - https://www.barrym.com/product/Gelly-Hi-Shine My Findings: I purchased this product summer of last year, I have an active social circle and was invited to a few barbecues and well I wanted some bright summery nails to match the event really. I had a voucher to use for amazon so that is where I purchased the nail paint from. I chose the colours grapefruit which is a bubbly upbeat pink colour and guava which is a teal like colour. The colour was just what I wanted so I was pleased with the colours I picked, so when it cames to trying these out I was rather excited. The handle of the brush is easy to use and fits in my hand well, the application part of the brush is smaller than some I have used but is easier to run over my nails. This product is medium consistency and does go on my nails well, some nail paints I have tried to use have been rather runny and well I end up making a mess! This one I was pleased with. It is recommended you apply a basecoat first, I didn’t use one of the same brand but is clear and have used ...

Sudo Cream 16/02/2016

Magic Cream!

Sudo Cream In the bathroom cabinet there are certain items I feel you cannot live without. One of those is a super magic cream known as Sudocrem. Sudocrem ‘Sudocrem has been looking after your family’s skin for over 80 years, always there to help with life’s little dramas. Take a look at the life stages above to discover products developed specifically for you’ - https://www.sudocrem.co.uk/home My Findings: Sudocrem seems to be a family favourite as it does treats numerous of ailments, I have used this cream since I can remember. What it can be used for – Eczema Acne Cuts, Grazes and minor Burns Nappy Rash Bed Sores Chilblains Over the years I have used this cream for sun burn, spots, grazes, eczema and an itchy rash from an allergic reaction. The sun hates me, I wear a skin block even tried the ones for kids at factor 50. Still I somehow get burnt, once so bad I ended up in hospital while on holiday in Canary Islands I lost a layer of skin and horrid blisters the size of my fist. So needless to say I’m in the shade most of the time. Even though now I am extremely careful in the sun it can catch me from time to time and when my skin goes a red’ish colour I turn to this and it amazes me how quick it cools my skin and ease the irritation. The next day I’m pretty much back white! More so in my younger years eczema used to be my pet hate, I never had it really bad but still enough to get me down. More so the patches at the back of my knees, my mom used to rub this one the back of ...

Illamasqua Cream Pigment 16/02/2016

Fancy Cream Make-up from Illamasqua

Illamasqua Cream Pigment When it comes to new brands I always get excited, make-up wise I love trying new things. I also like products that have a several uses which makes for more space in my make-up bag! That can only be a bonus really! I gave four make-up bags in total. Illamasqua Cream Pigment ‘These cream pigments have spawned a wild spray of corrupted colours and poisonous pastels in an intensely colour-rich, crease resistant, matt formula that introduces a brand new product to the Illamasqua range. These colour mutations create the ultimate in textures on your face, eyes, lips or body.’ -http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod1070110001123720193799-1 My Findings: I had never heard of this brand before December of last year, I received this within my birthday gifts. My first impressions were its looked high end and I was right really with a higher price tag than the norm. Illamasqua after doing a bit of research I must say appeals to my gothic side and has a unique feel. I love the wording that comes on the products – 'Conceived amidst the dark drama of 1920s Berlin, developed by professional make-up artists, embraced by alternative cultures, made by a unique British brand. Worn by those who refuse to everybody.' This product comes boxed in a sleek black sophisticated style packaging, the actual cream comes in a plastic tub with a lift off lid. The cream comes in several shades which works great for contouring and covering dark circles too. With the amount of colours ...
