Montagne Jeunesse Manuka Honey Peel Off 20/08/2015

The Simpsons Mask

Montagne Jeunesse Manuka Honey Peel Off Montagne Jeunesse Manuka Honey Peel Off ‘Busy Bees have collected nectar from the Manuka Bushes of New Zealand creating Manuka Honey - a natural anti-bacterial cleanser. They source pollen & we add the flower power of fragrant Jasmine’ - www.my7thheaven.com/ My Findings: Over the many years I have been reviewing I have reviewed many face masks, one of my favourite brands has to be Montagne Jeunesse. Due to the massive range they seem to have and for pretty much every skin type going. Browsing the face mask section I came across one I haven’t tried before! Shock! Horror! So of course it soon ended up in my shopping basket. As standard with face masks before use you need to cleanse your skin, once this is complete it is at last time for the messy part and messy it sure is! Soon as I ripped the sachet open you are hit with the fragrance of honey, rather strong too. This is certainly not one for the honey haters out there. On the packet it is advised to relax for the next twenty to twenty five minutes for the mask to dry ready to be peeled off. Placing the product on my face it was a little on the running side, even though the sachet was on the cold side. There was just enough to cover my whole face and a little down my neck. The mask has a yellow tone to it, so yes it looked like I was auditioning for a role in the Simpsons. However at the time the house to myself, no on lookers so the coast was clear. For me it took a little longer for the product to dry on my face in ...

What is your favourite song of all time and why does it mean so much to you ? 06/05/2015

A Favourite from Pink

What is your favourite song of all time and why does it mean so much to you ? My favourite song of the moment and what it means to me. Music is a large part of my life, my father being a DJ I was brought up on music and my range is from northern soul / motown to heavy metal. I like mainstream bands but I also like to go and listen to local bands which I feel is so underrated, would love to see people supporting there locals. To pick a favourite is certainly hard as I’m sure most will be the same as it goes on the current mood you are in. Some of you may know why I haven’t been so active of late, I’ve been studying hard and I’m a few weeks away from becoming a counsellor. So I’m going to pick the song I used for my class journal. Pink – Perfect: Who is Pink? Alecia Beth Moore born 1979, an American singer starting her singer career in 1995 with a girl group which didn’t really take off. I’m guessing as Pink is a true solo star she doesn’t need the back up. In 2000 her first album hit the UK and where I became hooked, she was different had an edge which that is what I like people whom think outside the box and are not afraid to be different. Pink is a singer I love she doesn’t follow the normal bimbo singer which comes across in her vocals. Perfect is a great example, telling us – you know what? So we have made mistakes. Who hasn’t? But that is alright as we are perfect in our own way. Which some people just don’t feel, I believe this songs just gives you that reinforcement of ‘yes, you are perfect’. This song for me is a great pick me up as at ...

Perfect Place for shopping!

Littlebooteek.co.uk So who doesn’t like a bit of fun online shopping now and then! I know I do and well I am picky about the websites I use. I’ve came across an awesome page which the world needs to be informed about! Little Booteek: ‘Little Booteek is the place to find alternative clothing and accessories at a reasonable price. Our customer care is first priority we are here to ensure a happy pleasant shopping experience’ - www.littlebootek.co.uk My Findings: My clothe taste is on the alternative side always has been really from a young age, it just appealed to me more than anything else. Nowadays you have so much choice but they can be rather expensive to purchase. So early last year sometime I came across this brilliant site which was shared on a friends Facebook page, not only did it have the styles I love but the prices were great compared to some other alternative sites. The look of the website is fun and inviting, easy layout leaving you easy to navigate through there luxurious items. The site is broken down into sections again making it easier for us to use, at the start you have the home page, and this shows you latest offers, always worth looking at first. Then Women tab which opens up into serval sections tops, dresses, etc. Men’s again broken into sections, Accessories which consists of bags, purses, and wallets etc, Shoes! Which are out of this world! Next tab is about LB Awesomeness Card which is a loyalty card, you earn point when purchasing from the website. Which earns ...

Superdrug 2 In 1 Hand & Nail Cream 26/04/2015

Let down from Superdrug

Superdrug 2 In 1 Hand & Nail Cream Been a while since my last review but I am here to explain what I think of this hand cream from Superdrug. A dislike that has prompted me to write a review!! Superdrug Hand Cream 2 In 1, strengthens nails and moisturises hand: ‘This Superdrug Hand & Nail Cream, enriched with Pro-Vitamin B5 and Sweet Almond Oil, is specially formulated to nourish and moisturise hands, whilst helping to strengthen nails and smooth cuticles. Used regularly, it will help to protect nails from splitting, flaking and breaking. The non-greasy formula is quickly absorbed, leaving hands feeling soft and supple.’ - www.superdrug.com My Findings: I’m not all that sure why but of late my hands have been getting very dry, which made me go on the lookout for some hand cream. Superdrug is right next door to my work so there I popped, there is a huge selection of creams, however I have tried many Superdrug own items in the past and found them as good as or better than a leading brand. So I didn’t hesitate in purchasing one of their products, plus the offer at the time which we all love a bargain. (If it works that is) I opted for the hand and nail cream as well my nails could do with strengthening up so I thought this would be good for both, hand and nails. The directions of use is to massage into hands regularly throughout the day. So for the past three weeks I have been using this product and sadly I feel the best place for this cream is in the bin. Massaging a 10 pence size blob into my hands the ...

Beauticology Candy Cane 3 Body Butter Set 06/03/2014

One Poor Set!

Beauticology Candy Cane 3 Body Butter Set Well as you all know I love my moisturisers and I end up with a lot for Christmas and birthday. Most I do tend to like, however this set I’m about to review has got to be the worse I have ever used. I have used so many different brands over the years from the £1 shop to £100 designer brands and this is the worse! Beauticology Candy Cane 3 Body Butter Set: ‘Deeply nourish and moisturise the skin leaving it feeling as soft as silk with the Beauticology Candy Cane body butter set. The 3 pack of body butters includes gorgeous and invigorating scents: peppermint, candy cane and a strawberry swirl.’ - www.tesco.com My Findings: When I first opened these up at Christmas they sounded great, scents that I would like and the fact it was deep moisturising was great for me. I get dry skin as I shower a lot, because I train in different sports at different times so some days I could have three showers. First one I opened was Strawberry Swirl I just love strawberry scented items I opened the lid and pealed off the foil seal and half of the moisturiser ended up over the floor it was that running it just poured out! Not what I was expecting at all. I was thinking it was going to be a thick cream like butters normally are. Then onto the fragrance and sadly even that was a let down it smelt very artificial and somewhat sickly too. Cherry Candy Cane again runny, more thinner in consistency than a body lotion. The cherry scent was more like marzipan and very mild at that. So I opened the ...

Toshiba C855 15.6 Inch 1TB 8GB 18/02/2014

Super Purple Laptop

Toshiba C855 15.6 Inch 1TB 8GB Having not long reviewed my iPad where I stated that I find my laptop much better, I thought I would review my laptop so I could also explain what I mean. I’ve had my laptop now for around one year now, at first I was unsure what type I wanted. But, I knew I would be using it for internet use, shopping, reviews etc but also to contact my family that live aboard and low on the list I wanted a purple one! Well I can have my girly moments. A lot of laptops fit this list for me so at first I did some research to find a decent laptop that had a reasonable price tag. Toshiba - C855 15.6 Inch 1TB 8GB: ‘The Toshiba Satellite C855 laptop offers great quality for everyday computing, featuring a 15.6 display and textured matt black finish. Extensive connectivity options are incorporated including SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and HDMI making it ideal for connecting with other devices as well as keeping in touch with people.’ - www.argos.co.uk My Findings: I am not the most high tech person out there and I don’t know much when it comes to laptops. But this one has been a little beauty for me and works a treat. Was ordered online and arrived promptly, comes in a large white box plenty of protective padding in place. Inside the box you have the laptop (of course) a manual and the mains lead/charger. The charge comes in two parts which is common for laptops; they are straight forward to plug into one another. Then plug into the laptop to start charging. You then lift the top of the laptop ...

Monsters Inc Monsters University Party Cups 30/01/2014

A Monster Party

Monsters Inc Monsters University Party Cups I love planning events so when I have the time I like get stuck in. It was my nephews 3rd Birthday on the 28th January, so help my sister I decided to have his party at mine and sort the entertainment! Yes a room full of 3 to 7 year olds I was brave! Monsters Inc University Plastic Cups: My Findings: My Nephew George right now is crazy about Monster Inc, absolutely loves it so I thought why not theme the party around that for him. Shopping around I can tell you children’s themed items are certainly not cheap. You get a pack of eight cups which will hold 200ml each. Some children can be rather heavy handed and these are certainly are not tough enough for them. I got two packs of cups had another idea for them and opted to get the children fruit shoots instead. The few cups I had left over some of the older children were drinking out of them but you could see the slight bend when they were picking them up. So personally I wouldn’t recommend using this for little children. Plus when you have the little ones running around being as there are no tops there will be plenty spillage with excited kids. What I used them for were party bags and wrapped them up myself, they look so much better than giving out party bags. On the cups you have the two main characters Sulley and Mike Wazowski, for kid’s party cups they are a little plain but focuses on the favourite two. There bright in colour and fun for the children, it also has the Monster Inc University logo. They were all very ...

Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream 28/01/2014

Super Clean Face thanks to Burt's Bees

Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream There are a lot of beauty products on the market a brand I had never tried before was Burt’s Bees. My friend Toni raves about them and it is the only product she will use on her face. Being a great friend as she is she got me a few Burt’s Bees items for me to try. Burt’s Bees – Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream: ‘Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream is a rich, sulfate-free facial cleanser is made with a gentle, yet effective plant-based cleansing complex featuring quillaja saponaria (soap) bark extract and witch hazel. Luxurious lather foams away excess dirt, oil and make-up leaving skin feelling clean and refreshed. Extracts of chamomile, echinacea and aloe help calm skin while glycerin and cocoa butter provide a touch of moisture for naturally fresh, healthy skin.’ - www.burtsbees.co.uk My Findings: I have used a good many different face cleansing over the years and I have to say this has jumped right to the top of my list. I’ve been using this product for around four weeks now and the feeling it gives my skin is just amazing. My only thing is as it is a pretty much natural product (98% they claim) it has a massive ingredients list, however it is sulfate, parabens, phthalates and petrochemical free. Not tested on animals which is a big plus on my list and is BUVA approved. Using this product is nice and easy, wet your face then apply a small amount of the cleanser to your finger tips and massage over the face. You only need a small amount it goes go ...

Brothers Toffee Apple Cider 26/01/2014

In love with the Brothers

Brothers Toffee Apple Cider I do like an alcoholic beverage now and again, like always I like to try new things and generally take a look around the supermarkets to see what is on offer. Brothers – Toffee Apple Premium Cider: ‘It has taken 4 Brothers and 14 generations of cider makers, from the Showering family, to create this unique Toffee Apple Cider. The delicious blend of cream soda & smoldering toffee is for those who don’t do normal cider’ - www.brotherscider.co.uk My Findings: I’m really not one for normal ciders just really dislike the taste; however I do like the different kinds of ciders, like the red fruits etc. When I was doing a bit of shopping these were on offer, I like toffee and I like apples so I popped a few in the trolley. Not having tried this before I was intrigued to know what theses would be like and I have to say they were delicious! After chilling I poured into a tall glass, there was a nice fizz to it and you could smell the sweetness. My first taste I was blown away just how yummy and morish this actually was! You have a sweet slightly warming bubbly apple taste then you get the rich tasty toffee. I was surprised just how much it does taste like toffee apples however a lot nicer and doesn’t get stuck in your teeth. I like the fact that there was a nice light sparkle to the drink, but the right amount of bubbles for me. Too many can make things rather gassy, however here I think they have got then right combination. Some flavoured drinks I think can have a somewhat ...

Madonna Tattoo Eau de Toilette 23/01/2014

Sweet but weak

Madonna Tattoo Eau de Toilette Like I have said before I do enjoy my scented items; personally I will give most things a try whatever the price tag. Unless, ginger, lavender, cinnamon and celery are involved! Oh and coriander! Eww! Madonna Tattoo Eau De Toilette Perfume – ‘A fun & lively fruit cocktail of fragrances to make you smell delicious!’ - www.corsair.co.uk My Findings: I had this scent within a hamper I received for Christmas not one I have seen before, so happy to try something new out. It has Madonna written on the front from what I can see it is not endorsed by her at all. But with its bright colour and bold text it does remind me a little of 80’s pop Madonna. When you get this perfume out the box I must admit it looks rather cheap, see-through glass with a plastic purple top. This scent has a spray applicator, you get a decent amount per spray and the fragrance is very mild but sweet. Personally this is more suited to early teens but I do like sweet fragrances so I don’t mind this one to much. The down side is the longevity it is poor compared to most and the scent lasts no longer than an hour really so you do have to top up regularly. It states it’s a fun, lively fruit cocktail it does has fruitiness to it more towards citrus with an apple hint but I can also smell a slight floral backdrop. Sadly I can not find the notes anywhere to help understand what I’m detecting with this one. However I think on the hold it is a nice sweet fragrance, but I do feel I’m a little mature for this ...

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum 10/01/2014

I'm a Modern Muse

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum Love the holiday times, friends and family that know me, know I like my fragrances so I do end up getting a lot of smellies which is great! Estee Lauder I must admit isn’t my favourite I find there scent just too floral. However this one has certainly changed my mind on the brand. Estee Lauder – Modern Muse Eau De Parfum: ‘The carefully constructed blending of two distinctively different yet equally dynamic accords provides an intriguing, innovative dual impression. This unique dual-accord structure makes Modern Muse a true innovation in fragrance design. As complex and fascinating as the woman who inspires it’ - www.esteelauder.co.uk My Findings: This is Estee Lauder's newest fragrance and I must admit I am surprised on just how much I like it, whether my taste is changing in perfumes I don’t know. For me I personally think it is deep and kind of sexy sophisticated fling to it. From the Estee Lauder website it states that this Eau De Parfum has a feeling of confidence, independents and Inspiring. Which I have to agree with, I am always amazed how items can affect your moods well this one certainly feels like it gives me fighting female boost. The notes – • Exotic Mandarin • Honeysuckle Nectar • Dewy Petals • Jasmine Sambac • China Absolute • Tuberose Fleur Fir Nat • Fresh Lily • Patchouli Coeur • Patchouli Crist • Amber Wood • Suede Musk • Madagascar Vanilla SFE Now there is rather a lot going on here but I feel they all combine well, well I like it anyway! Nirvana Spa Nspa Japanese Minis Treat 08/01/2014

Treat Lacking Cherry from NSpa

Nirvana Spa Nspa Japanese Minis Treat I have done many reviews on the brand NSpa as it was one of my favourite bath time treats at one point. Over the years they have completely changed their products around, which I do have to say I enjoyed their original stuff. NSpa - Nspa Japanese Minis Treat: ‘This spa inspired range is infused with essential oil of Ylang-Ylang to transport you to the iconic cherry blossom gardens of Japan. This luxurious Bath Melt and Wash Grain duo will leave your skin delicately fragranced with floral cherry blossom, peony, lily, rose and white musk.’ - www.nirvanaspa.co.uk My Findings: When doing a little shopping in Asda they have the Christmas gifts set out and most of which were on offer. I spotted a new NSpa set so I thought why not and popped it into my cart, I have so many items like this at home however when I see a new one I just love to try it! With this box of treats you get – Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk Bath Melt (100ml) Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk Grains with Crushed Bamboo (75ml) Pink Exfoliating Sponge All complete in a cute pink presentation box, I personal think it looks more expensive than it actually costs too which is a bonus if giving for gifts. 'The Bath Melt –' All you have to do here is pour into warm running water and wow the fragrance jumps out. You get lovely smooth bubbles which I just love; sadly the bubbles don’t last very long. But while soaking in the tub the water is soft and smells just divine, kind of like a mild cherry with a slight floral ...
