Logitech V450 Laser - mouse 28/07/2009

Logitech V450 = Great Mouse

Logitech V450 Laser - mouse I bought this mouse after going through 2 Microsoft mice of a similar price and functionality. The problem with the Microsoft mice were the USB dongle was so long and it was top heavy, so it caused a intermittent fault where the dongle would not register as being plugged in unless giving it a waggle, not very good to the mouse, never alone your computer. So I bought the Logitech, the small dongle was the main selling point to me from first glance. But having used it for a few months now I can see it has much more going for it. It is very responsive, and very light and easy to use. I use it for generally browsing the internet and using my MacBook from day to day. I also use it to play World of Warcraft and it works like a charm because it fits the contour of your hand making it very comftable. In my opinion this mouse is great value for money, as mentioned I've had it for 6 months and never had to change the battery, it gets used every day too so this is fantastic. The scroll wheel itself has 3 buttons integrated, you can press it down and left and right so it is good for laptop gaming. Overall I would rate this product as great value for money, easy to use, easy to set up as it's plug and play with anything USB 2. ...

NINTENDO Wii Remote - Remote - wireless 11/09/2007

A 'Stroke' of Genius

NINTENDO Wii Remote - Remote - wireless ---Overview--- The Nintendo Wii Remote, sometimes known just as the Wiimote for short is the main controlling device used on Nintendo's latest home games console the Nintendo Wii. It is known for its motion sensing capability. The Wiimote also has attachments in the form of the Wii Knunchuck which is used for controlling more complex games. ---Development--- Some point in 2001 Nintendo embarked on developing it's next home games console doing this meant Nintendo licensed a number of motion sensing patents from a company called Gyration Inc. Nintendo also spoke to companies who produce motion sensing wireless computer mice and later that yearh Nintendo hired Gyration to produce a one handed controller for them. At first many concepts were batted around Nintendo, the first of which was a more traditonal type of game pad, very similar to the Nintendo Gamecube pad but this had the ability to sense motion. Experiments continued as Nintendo even trialled these concepts on hardcore gamers. But by early 2005 Nintendo finalised on the very original wand style of controller along with its Nunchuck attachment. Just before finalising the concept Nintendo decided it will use motion sensing technology along with a infrared pointer, and they tweaked the layout of the buttons on the Wiimote. Fall 2005 the controller was ready for mass production. 4 years after the original idea a new style of game play was born. Rumours arose that the Wiimote was due for release on the ...

Call of Duty 2 (Xbox 360) 11/09/2007

I answered the Call of Duty

Call of Duty 2 (Xbox 360) ---Overview--- Call of Duty 2 is a first person shooter played through the events of World War 2, it is the direct sequel to the award winning Call of Duty. It was produced by Infinity Ward the same producers as its prequel, and was published by Activison. The game was built on a inhouse engine developed by Infiity Ward, a re-vamped Call of Duty engine. The game was releasd on the following dates around the world; Windows NA October 25, 2005 EU October 25, 2005 Xbox 360 NA November 15, 2005 EU November 25, 2005 JP June 15, 2006 Mac OS X NA June 13, 2006 Call of Duty 2 was followed by the third game in the series in November 2006 this was the first console only Call of Duty sequel and it is soon to be followed by Call of Duty 4 sometime in November 2007. ---Plot--- There is not much story wise to Call of Duty 2 but to be honest it is not needed as the game is action orientated rather than plot driven. You play three different male soldiers fighting the allied campaign. You play a Russian private, a British soldier who is fighting in Africa and an American landing as part of D-Day. The story, well the little bit of it is driven by letters or orders you read while the game loads, also historical material is used. ---Gameplay--- Call of Duty 2 is a first person shooter, you take on the role of three male protagonists during the Allied Campaign of World War 2. Each character you play have specific missions to carry out. As i mentioned that the ...

Amped 3 (Xbox 360) 07/09/2007

Amped Out!

Amped 3 (Xbox 360) Amped 3 is the third game in a line of snowboarding games from Indie Built/2K Sports and it expands on the previous two games in the fact that again it is a X-Box exclusive. The game was released with the console as part of the launch line ups therefore one of the first next generation games available. Amped 3 is as i said a snowboarding game, but there are things in this game which set it apart from rivals such as the SSX series. Not only is your character fully customisable from what hair style they have to what shoes they wear and everything inbetween, Amped 3 is also a sandbox game but i will come onto that later in the review. The story to Amped 3 is very light hearted as is to be expected, it is after all a sports game so there is no sweeping and epic story line here. You and your bunch of friends wand to become the greatest snowboarders around and the game follows there story. Amped 3's story is portrayed in a different way and how it is done is genius. The games story is progressed through a series of cut scenes which range from quirky news reports to cartoons, some bits of the story are even told through sock puppets. This is not only very funny but unique, i was literally laughing when i was playing this game, and thats where the beauty of it shines through as it's not often that a game can make me laugh. The game play of Amped 3 is very easy to pick up and user friendly, which makes this the perfect pick up for 10 mins and play game. Yes, it can get ...

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (Xbox 360) 07/09/2007

Rainbow rules

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (Xbox 360) Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth chronological game in the Rainbow Six series of computer games. It was released for the Xbox 360 on November 21, 2006 and Windows on December 12, 2006. The PSP version was released on June 12, 2007 for North America and Europe, while the PlayStation 3 version was released on June 26, 2007. The game's storyline follows a new Rainbow team that is dispatched to Las Vegas, Nevada to defeat Irena Morales' (internationally wanted terrorist) massive army of mercenaries that is repeatedly attacking key locations in the city. Rainbow Six Vegas is a first person shooter developed and published by Ubisoft. You take on the role of newly appointed Rainbow Lead Logan Keller, with two squadmates, Gabriel Nowak and Kan Akahashi. The plot begins (don't worry i won't be going into detail as all my reviews are spoiler free) with the squad assigned a misson to a Mexican border town in the year 2010, there mission is to arrest a key Terrorist Irena Morales who is the ringleader of a Terror Cell. After this mission the fun really begins as the squad finds themselves sent to Las Vegas to protect the city from siege after siege of terrorist attacks. The gameplay has been vastly improved from previous Rainbow installments. Firstly the new health regeneration system which is similar to games like Call of Duty and Gears of War. If you take a hit, the screen darkens forcing minimal visibility and forces you to take cover, over a period of time ( this ...

Billy Bear Sausage 07/09/2007

Yum Yum Billy Bear

Billy Bear Sausage Billy Bear Sausage is made from Turkey and Pork and can be purchased from Tesco amongst other supermarkets, either in packets similar to ham which contain 5 slices or from the Deli Counter. Billy Bear is ideal for a childs lunchbox as the cute design will encourage a child to eat there dinner. It can also be served with salad for a more healthy option. Billy Bear needs to be consumed within two days of opening the package which is not bad seeing they put 5 slices in a packet, you find your not wasting any by the time you have made a few buttys. Billy Bear is also packaged in a protective atmosphere and as allergy's go the recipe contains no nuts, the factory does not handle nuts but the ingredients may contain nuts. It says, Ingredients: Cannot guarantee no nuts. So i would not recommend this to a Nut Allergy sufferer. Roughly the price of a pack which contains 5 slices is 89p so in my opinion it offers good value for money. Using the new system of measuring calories etc etc. One slice of Billy Bear gives you the following: Calories - 32 - 2% of your daily guideline Sugar - 0.2g - <1% of your daily guideline Fat - 1.8g - 3% of your daily guideline Saturates - 0.6g - 3% of your daily guideline salt - 0.3g - 5% of your daily guideline So not only does it look inviting to kids, its not half bad for there health either, you could give a child something a lot worse. ...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling Diet cherry coke well i like it but i think it maybe one of them you love it or hate it things,it comes in many different ways cans, bottles from 75ml to 2ltr bottles and i think its a great idea as there isn't very many good DIET fizzy drinks on the market and for once it doesnt contain tons of sugar, diet cherry coke was brought out to replace the vanilla coke, the packaging is fairly distingushed its a deep red bottle with deep dark red writing on it so you wouldn't get confused the smell doesnt really smell like cherries when you open the can or bottle but its taste makes up for it .i think it tates very pleasent and it is very refreshing, there is about 1kcal per 100ml and a big fat wopping 0 fat in it. and at roughly 85p pr small bottle this is a good drink by coca cola

Final Fantasy VII - Soundtrack 06/09/2007

Epic to say the least

Final Fantasy VII - Soundtrack The Final Fantasy VII Original Soundtrack was originally released on February 10, 1997 through DigiCube and later re-released directly by Square Enix on May 10, 2004, after DigiCube went bust in 2003. It contains 85 pieces of music took directly from the game and it includes everyones favorites ranging from the beautiful Prelude to the heart pounding One Winged Angel. Viva Pinata (Xbox 360) 06/09/2007

Pinata Island here i come!

Viva Pinata (Xbox 360) Viva Piñata is a simulation game developed by Rare Ltd., for the Microsoft Xbox 360. The project was headed by Gregg Mayles and the team behind the Banjo-Kazooie series. Viva Pinata has only been released on the Xbox 360 but there is no Only on Xbox 360 visible on the case and following E3 this year, a version for Windows and the Nintendo DS have been announced. Viva Pinata is a simulation game where you take up the role of a Gardener, thats right a gardener. But on this island Gardening is a whole different ball game. You start off with a small plot of land which is a junk yard, there is rubbish and debris all over it and you clean it up, plant some grass, make a little pond and there you have it you have the making s of a Garden. There is no story really to Viva Pinata, you just make the best garden possible to attract as many Pinata species as possible. The further you get into the game, the more you can put in your garden and the more Pinatas you attract. Pinata's are those animals you see on the case and yes they are made from paper and they are filled with sweets. But with so many Pinatas to attract to your garden there is enough here to keep you going for a while. Some Pinata's will only come if another lives with you, example, a Syrupent ( a snake) will only come to your garden if a Mousemallow (a mouse) lives there. You have to breed your Pinata's too which to do so you have to meet conditions and have a home for them, then they will produce a egg and in turn a ...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360) 06/09/2007

Oblivion Outclasses All

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, or more simply Oblivion, is a single player fantasy-themed action-oriented computer role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks and the Take-Two Interactive subsidiary 2K Games. It is the next game in the Elder Scroll Series after Morrowind and was released on Xbox 360 and PC, later followed by PS3. Oblivion is a hard game to genre as it touches on so many aspects and types of games, it is played from a first person view, but can be put in a third person view if wished. I have to say, stick to the first person as it makes the game much more atmospheric. I'd say Oblivion is a RPG at core, you create your character at the beginning of the game and you increase and learn skills as you fight the enemies of the game. Oblivions story is a deep and vast one, so I'm not going to ruin it for anyone as it is brilliant in a word. The game begins with the arrival of Emperor Uriel Septim VII, accompanied by a troupe of Blade bodyguards, at the palace prison, seeking to flee from a group of assassins-later revealed to be members of the Mythic Dawn-through a secret underground exit. By chance, the exit is located in the cell occupied by the protagonist. The Emperor frees the player, and sets off through exit into the catacombs as the protagonist follows. And so the game begins, and this is just the beginning. The world in which you play is a living and breathing world, where the citizens of the empire live ...

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Xbox 360) 06/09/2007

Ghost Recon Rules

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Xbox 360) Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is the third game in the acclaimed series published by Ubisoft. It was also the first in the series to make its way onto a next generation console. Ghost Recon is a tactical shooter, not like a first person shooter in the fact that the camera is a third person view, and sits behind and ever so slightly to one side to give a over the shoulder perspective which works very well indeed. I won't go into a lot of detail about the plot because it is quite good. You are Scott Mitchell a elite fighting soldier, you are the best there is. And as Ghost Lead you command a crack squad of highly trained soldiers of the future through the battlefields of 2013 Mexico City. The game takes place over the course of 48 hours, beginning in Mexico City. A US spy plane carrying Guardrail IX, a device capable of disrupting wireless communications, is shot down over Nicaragua and the ghosts are sent to get it back. You will also rescue VIP's and sabotage enemy camps and equipment. As i said as a tactical shooter it works a little differently. As Scott you control your team by issuing commands using the d-pad, its very simple but has devastating consequences. If you point to the ground and press up, they will go there, but point at an enemy soldier and they will give them hell. You can track their movements by your Crosscom which shows a video streamed from a camera on their helmet. The Crosscom is very important as it is the way you issue all commands. Not only ...

BioShock (Xbox 360) 06/09/2007

Bioshock certainly shocked me!

BioShock (Xbox 360) Bioshock is the critically acclaimed game from 2K Boston/2K Australia and was released on the Xbox 360 and Pc in August 2007. The developers describe Bioshock as 'the genetically modified first person shooter' and is the spiritual successor to System Shock. Bioshock is a first person shooter but also has elements of a RPG in the fact that you can gain abilities called Plasmids which alter what special powers you can use ranging from Electric Shock to Telekinesis. It is also a horror game of a very good standard, this game is very scary, it scares me to death every time i play it, but i will tell you more about this later. You use the weapons you find from Wrench's to Flame Throwers to beat back the 'Splicers' which populate the underwater world of Rapture. Without going into the story too much, because it is a cracker and i don't want to ruin it for you guys. The year is 1960 you assume the role of Jack, and you have just been involved in a plane crash which winds you up in the middle of the Atlantic Sea in the middle of the night and all that you find is a barren looking Lighthouse. You swim over, have a poke around and find a little submarine type vessel which takes you down to a underwater city, a utopia where free thinkers and great minds live aside each other, this place is called Rapture. Why have you been brought here? Who are you? What happened to Rapture, why does it lie in ruins? And what are those little girls who stalk the dark flooded corridors doing here? ...

Blue Dragon (Xbox 360) 05/09/2007

Blue Dragon is here.

Blue Dragon (Xbox 360) Blue Dragon is the first Xbox 360 game by Mistwalker Studios and is published by Microsoft, the game is based on the design of the acclaimed and renown Final Fantasy producer Hironobu Sakaguchi, and the project was supervised by him also. Microsoft are hoping this will be the biggest selling Xbox 360 game in Japan planning to sell 200,000 copies. Blue Dragon is a JRPG, or Japanese Role Playing Game. If you are familiar with Rpg's you know what to expect, if not i will lightly touch on some aspects of the game play. You take the Role of Shu, a young 16 year old boy who protects his village from the evil Land Shark. Along with his friends they embark on an adventure to save not only their Village but the world, i don't want to go into detail as i don't want to ruin it for everyone. The game is a mixture of exploration and combat. The 'Field Screen' is the screen you see while exploring with all character details, it displays the mini map too, and your characters and enemies. The exploration of the game is brilliant, you control Shu around locations such as forests, caves, towns and camps etc. You can talk to many of the other characters on the way around and interact with animals and open treasure chests. Eventually you will come into contact with enemies and you can initiate combat with them, or let them attack you. This will judge who has the first turn in combat. You and your party will now be involved in turn based combat until either your party or the enemies die. ...
