Iberostar Chich Khan, Hammamet 13/06/2012

Best Holiday!

Iberostar Chich Khan, Hammamet My partner and I stayed here from 20 May until 3 June this year for our 10 year anniversary. We stayed here back in May 2008 and thought the service was outstanding which was the main reason we went back. From the airport we had a short transfer to the hotel which was around 40 minutes. When we arrived we were shown to a more comfortable room just off reception, offered a drink and filled in the necessary forms. We were then given brief information about the all inclusive times for meals and drinks etc and told our room wouldn’t be ready for about half an hour therefore we were able to get a drink, have lunch and relax. Rooms: - My partner and I were given a double room on the 3rd floor which is the very top floor. The room was great with a huge bed, dressing table, big wardrobes with lots of storage space and a TV. The TV had a great movie channel which was perfect for when you couldn’t sleep. The bathroom was a good size with a bath and overhead shower, and a large basin. There was also a separate toilet. We had a decent sized balcony which faced another hotel but to your left you had a sea view. The only thing I can say about the room is that the air conditioning doesn’t come on until June therefore it was sometimes quite uncomfortable at night when trying to sleep as it was so hot. By the end of the holiday we had to leave the balcony door open a little. The cleaners were great and our room was cleaned every day with clean bedding and clean towels. We had some spare ...

Norbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpool 13/06/2012

Can't wait to return

Norbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpool We have just spent one night at the Norbreck Castle Hotel and travelled with National Holidays. My partner and I paid £55 each which included your coach travel, room, breakfast, evening meal and also 4 free drinks vouchers. Firstly we got picked up from the allocated bus stop at around 7.20 on the Sunday morning. We then done various pick ups and made our first rest stop at around 10.30am at a place called Tebay Service Station. We stayed there for around 45 minutes and within that time you got to use the toilets, and there was also a restaurant and a shop. After that we stopped again at about midday in Morecambe where there was a market and some more shops. We stayed there until 1.30pm, back on the coach again until finally getting to Blackpool at 3.00pm. For us this was a really long and tiring journey as we had been up since 5.00am. We wanted to go to the Tower and also the Dungeons but by the time we got ourselves sorted (and you couldn’t check in until 3.30pm) it was nearly shut. We then got told that our evening meal was 6.30pm so we just decided to stay around the hotel until then. After the long journey we decided to go to the bar which is next door to the hotel called Copper Face Jacks. It was happy hour here until 7.00pm and you could get pints of Carlsberg for £2.20 and also cocktails for £4. We only stayed here for a couple of drinks and then decided to head into the main bar of the hotel to use our free drinks vouchers. The pints in the main bar were £3.25 but ...

Iberostar Sahara Beach Hotel, Monastir 13/06/2012

Relaxing 2 weeks

Iberostar Sahara Beach Hotel, Monastir Myself, my partner and his Dad stayed here from 18 September until 2 October. When we arrived we were given a drink and after filling in the necessary form we were then shown to our rooms. My partner and I had visited Skanes back in 2008 and although we didn’t stay at the Sahara Beach we did have a look around and stayed for a few drinks so we knew the basic layout of the hotel already which is one of the reasons we booked the hotel this time. Rooms: - My partner and I were given a double room on the 5th floor. The room was extremely basic – double bed, a couple of built in wardrobes, a small dressing table with stool and a mirror. The bathroom obviously had the usual – basin, toilet and a really small shower and shower curtain. I dreaded using the shower every day as when you switched it on it was quite powerful and the water would hit off the shower curtain and go all over the floor so you had to make sure it was positioned right so the water wouldn’t go everywhere. We did get used to it after the first few days though. The room also had a good sized balcony but we never really used it. The only thing I would say about the rooms is that it would have been nice to have a TV for when you went up to the room early on an evening or for background noise when getting ready. We knew they didn’t have TVs so we were prepared and brought our portable DVD player. Our room was cleaned every single day with clean bedding and clean towels as long as you put them on the floor so the ...

Liberty Hotel, Monastir 07/01/2009

Christmas Break

Liberty Hotel, Monastir We went to this hotel from the 21 December until the 28 December. We fancied a change at Christmas and wanted to get away from the awful weather here. We have been to Tunisia before but in May so really didnt know what to expect over Christmas, not only with the weather but of the whole experience. After a short 3 hour flight from Newcastle we arrived at Monastir airport, very quick through customs and out transfer was waiting outside. It took about 10 minutes (if that) to get from the airport to the hotel which looked lovely from the outside and the reception area was very pretty to with huge chandeliers and comfy looking seats. We arrived at around 12.30 and had to fill out a card including our passport numbers, names and addresses before we could check into our room. One of the guys from reception took our cases and headed up, we did tip him for doing this. The room was fine although there were no clean towels and the toilet wouldnt flush so we had to go downstairs and tell reception. They sent someone up within the hour and they fixed it in 2 seconds. Once all that was sorted we went to the bar. We were all inclusive so it included beer and the usual spirits and soft drinks. There were 2 bars but we could only use one unless you wanted to pay in the other one which we did a couple of times just for some peace and quiet!! The bar which you have to pay in is also a nightclub which stays open until 2.00am. We did go a few times and can't really remember much lol There ...

The Three Corners El Wekala Golf Resort, Taba 07/11/2008

The Amazing Three Corners!

The Three Corners El Wekala Golf Resort, Taba Myself and my boyfriend went here in March 2006 for 2 weeks and it was the best holiday we have ever had. It was our first time to Egypt and were so excited, we were not let down when we arrived. When we booked it Taba Heights was still an up and coming area and apparently it now has a huge golf course and a shopping area. When we were there there were only 4 hotels including ours. This hotel was amazing, it was really upmarket. The rooms were fantastic, we had a mountain view and the scenery of the Sinai Mountains were amazing. We were all inclusive and it was the best AI we have experienced. Food great especially the Sushi on theme nights. The beach was just amazing, you could see Saudi Arabia, Israel and Jordan from the Beach and these views were beautiful. We spent most of our time at the beach as the pool got quite crowded. You do have to pay for food and drinks at the beach but it is quite cheap. There wasnt much entertainment at nights but we met some wonderful people (2 of which we still keep in touch with) and we just made our own entertainment. This was the best holiday ever and whoever hasnt been to this place yet you should give it a try, bet its way better than Sharm!

Hotel Chich Khan, Hammamet 07/11/2008

Chich Khan

Hotel Chich Khan, Hammamet Myself and my boyfriend stayed here in May 2008. The hotel is part of the Iberostar chain and could not fault it. The rooms were immaculate and so was the hotel itself. We went all inclusive and the drinks were served from 10 until 12 and included everything you could think of, even cocktails which suited me! The food was lovely especially the poolside bbq at lunch time. We met some great people in the 2 weeks we were there and that really added to us having a brilliant time. If you stay in this hotel you have the option of eating out free of charge at one of the other Iberostar hotels in the area. We went for an oriental meal but it wasnt exactly oriental and you had to pay for any drinks yourself. The hotel is located on a busy main road and our room faced this but you really could not hear any noise coming from outside. The beach is straight across this road but we only went twice as you constantly get hassled by the locals wanting to sell you things so we just lay around the pool most of the time. This was a very good holiday and would recommend it.

Lunamar Appartments, Marmaris 07/11/2008

Bargain Holiday

Lunamar Appartments, Marmaris Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 1 week in June 2007. We got it for £290 for the two of us self catering. It takes about 1 and half hours from Dalaman airport to the hotel. The hotel is located in the Armutalan area at the top of a steep hill which maybe unsuitable for older people or people with disabilities. The hotel itself is quite large and has a mid sized pool with a bar and restaurant. It also has a shop located near the reception area and shops near the pool including a tattoo shop if you really want one! The rooms are quite big. They have a kitchen area, bedroom, bathroom and living room. The balcony is huge and when we didnt go out anywhere we just sat sunbathing there as it was a total suntrap. It is in a very peaceful location and at the bottom of the hill you will find a few restaurants and bars. We went to most of these and especially liked the Cosy Corner which was very reasonably priced for bottles of Heineken. We did go into Marmaris a few times. You can get the dolmus down as there is a dolmus station located at the bottom of the hill near the bars but we just walked. It is a nice walk down to Marmaris and doesnt take that long to get there, maybe 20 minutes or so. As you are walking down you will pass many more restaurants. We went to Red Rose and they have lovely food and the cocktails were buy 1 get 1 free. In Marmaris itself there are loads of restaurants and bars, some small takeaways, shops, banks and a shopping centre so you ...

Samsung SGH-F480 07/11/2008

Best phone i've had in a long while!

Samsung SGH-F480 I have just got this phone having previously had a f490. The touch screen is so easy to use although when it comes to texting the keys are a little small. The camera is so much better than the F490 as the picture is much clearer. I have always had Samsung phones and this phone by far has the best reception as I found I was always losing signal with the others. The overall sound when making a call is much clearer too and also the music sounds spot on. The colour screen is so much better than the usual black/blue and white and it makes the phone look much more attractive. I would recommend this phone to anyone as it is the easiest phone I have used.
