Bakers Complete Rewards Mixed Sticks 16/03/2014

The Perfect Reward for Any Dog.

Bakers Complete Rewards Mixed Sticks Price and Availability My dog was a rescue dog and had a few bad habits when we got him, most of which have gone now but when he’s out on walks he still sometimes barks at other dogs. To discourage this I usually have some small treats in my pocket to distract him with which also act as a reward if he doesn’t bark at a dog when it passes. I find Bakers Rewards are very good for this purpose and I often buy them in a pack of 15 if they’re on offer for £1 although the usual selling price is about £1.50. Bakers Rewards are available in supermarkets and places like Wilkinsons, I usually buy mine in with my weekly shop. Bakers Rewards The treats come in a plastic pouch, clearly branded with the Bakers logo, along with a picture of the treats. The pouch has a handy zip lock fastening which keeps the treats inside fresh between uses. The pack of 15 sticks contains 5 of each flavour, Chicken, Lamb and Beef. The treats contain Omega 3 and 6 to help maintain healthy skin and a glossy coat, protein to help maintain strong muscles, vitamins to support good heath and energy levels and antioxidants to support natural defences. My Experience Bakers Rewards are soft sticks about 15cm long and 1cm thick, they can be given to your dog as they are or broken up, there are little grooves down the treat meaning that it can be easily snapped into five small pieces. I do occasionally give my dog, Teddy a full stick but the majority of the time I break them up into pieces and keep them in my ...

Tesco Marrowbone Rolls Treats 16/03/2014

A Well- Priced Treat but Not My Dog's Favourite.

Tesco Marrowbone Rolls Treats Price and Availability I give my dog a few treats a day and usually buy a box or bag of treats most weeks in with my supermarket shopping. I noticed Tesco Marrowbone Roll treats about a year ago now and bought them because they were quite a bit cheaper than the branded version. A 500g box of these Treats costs £1.19 from Tesco stores and is also available through online shopping. Tesco Marrowbone Roll Treats The treats come in a cardboard box with the Tesco branding, a picture of a Labrador and a picture of the treats themselves. The box is quite a decent size and I’ve found there are usually about 30 to 40 of the treats inside which for me usually lasts a couple of weeks when used with other treats. The treats are white in colour and a cylinder shape, about 5cm long and 3cm wide, the centre of the treat is brown, to reflect the marrowbone aspect of the treat I presume. There is no variation in the box, all the treats are the same and they’re a biscuit texture and have added calcium to support bones and teeth. My Experience My dog’s a Border terrier who has one meal a day at tea time, so I usually give him a couple of these biscuits in the morning before I go out. I find these treats to be a little hit and miss with him, sometimes he will eat them straight away other times he’s less bothered about them and carries them off to eat later. I don’t find this is something he usually does with other treats just this one. The treats have a biscuit texture and because of this ...

Pedigree Rodeo 16/03/2014

Pedigree Rodeo.

Pedigree Rodeo Price and Availability I bought our Border Terrier, Teddy, a Pedigree Christmas Stocking for the Christmas just gone which have three different treats and a toy inside. One of the treats were Pedigree Rodeo, a beef flavoured treat which come in a pack of four weighing 70g in total. I have bought these treats since at Tesco where they cost £1 but I have noticed them in other supermarkets and Wilkinsons for a similar price, they’re widely available. Pedigree Rodeo The treats come in a simple plastic package with the Pedigree branding and a picture of a Rodeo stick and a dog on the front. There are four sticks in the pack and each stick consists of two lengths of the treat twisted together. These treats contain Omega 3 to keep dogs fit, Calcium for strong bones and teeth and Vitamins and Minerals to maintain dog’s natural defences. Rodeo are also available in chicken flavour which my dog has never tried and both flavours come in either packs of four or eight sticks. My Experience Rodeo consists of two different strips of treat twisted together, there’s a dark brown strip and a light brown strip. Rodeo are quite soft in texture and easy to break, as my dog is only small I usually only give him half at a time if that much and he wolfs them down. The treats do have quite a strong beefy smell to them, with some treats if they’re in my pocket or on a high shelf Teddy won’t realise but with these he always sniffs them out. I’ve always found he enjoys Rodeo but my only problem ...

Muller Light Lemon Cheesecake Flavour 15/03/2014

Yummy Lemon Yoghurt and... Soggy Cake Pieces?

Price and Availability I recently bought this Muller Light Lemon Cheesecake Yoghurt as part of a six pack of 'Inspired by Cheesecake' yoghurts. There were three of the lemon variety and three New York Cheesecake Yoghurts, the yoghurts are sometimes available separately but it often depends on what Muller is marketing at any given time. I paid just under £2 for six yoghurts from Morrisons, Tesco have them on offer for £2.50 and the individual pots are regularly on a 5 for £3 offer so there's quite a bit of variance in price. The yoghurts are pretty much always on offer, they're about £4 at full price which in my opinion is a bit too expensive. Muller Light Lemon Cheesecake Yoghurt Muller Light Yoghurts come in quite big plastic pots with a foil top. This particular yoghurt as I mentioned before is part of the Inspired by Cheesecake range, they were initially Limited Edition but have been available in a multipack for a few years now. As with all Muller Light yoghurts this Lemon Cheesecake is fat free which was partly the reason I bought it, I love having a sweet treat but don't want to feel guilty afterwards. There's also only 99 calories per pot which is obviously pretty low and great for anyone counting the calories. My Experience Muller Light Lemon Cheesecake Yoghurt is lemon yoghurt with crushed cake pieces mixed in. The yoghurt is very pale yellow in colour and the cake pieces are visible, they look a little odd to be honest and although the yoghurt looks appetising ...

JML Fast Fit Ironing Board Cover 15/03/2014

An Impressive Ironing Board Cover from JML.

JML Fast Fit Ironing Board Cover Price and Availability I use my ironing board a lot and after two and a half years my ironing board cover is looking a bit worse for wear. My Mum bought the JML Ironing Board Cover a couple of months before me and said how good it was so I decided to get one too. The cover is available from a few different places including the JML website, Argos and Homebase. My Mum bought hers from Homebase for £8.99 but I managed to get mine from Dunelm for just under £5.50 a few months ago and it’s still selling at the same price now. JML Fast Fit Ironing Board Cover The cover comes in plastic packaging to protect it with a zip lock fastening and the top and a hanger for when it’s displayed in the shop. There are many different colours and designs available on these covers, some are nice, and some are a bit garish. Even though my ironing board is stored in a cupboard I still wanted a cover that I wouldn’t mind leaving out so I opted for a rainbow striped cover which believe it or not is one of the less colourful options! The ironing board cover has elasticated edges which enable it to fit the majority of different ironing boards, I have a Brabantia board which is pretty big and this cover offers a perfect fit. The surface of the cover is made from a non- slip cotton and it has a heat reflecting thick underlay which allows both sides of clothes to be ironed at the same time. The JML ironing board cover is also machine washable. My Experience As I mentioned before this cover fits my ...

HP Premium Glossy Photo Paper 14/03/2014

HP Premium Photo Paper.

HP Premium Glossy Photo Paper Price and Availability When I bought my photo printer a few years ago I got the printer itself with a pack of 100 sheets of HP Premium Photo Paper as part of the package from Argos. I’ve bought it a couple of times since from eBay where you can pick up the 10cm by 15cm variety for between 10p and 20p a sheet depending on the pack size. I’ve found the prices really do vary online but Amazon currently sell 60 sheets for just under £8 which is a pretty good price. HP Premium Photo Paper This paper comes in a few different varieties but the type I’m reviewing today is the 10cm by 15cm variety which is the traditional photograph size that I’ve been used to since a child. The paper is recommended for use with HP photo printers which is the main reason I continued to use it. Each sheet is 240g/m² and has a glossy finish perfect for photographs. The paper is straight cut on three sides with one size having a perforated edge and a little extra paper so that you can handle a photograph that’s just been printed without smudging the image. My Experience The paper is a nice thickness which makes it easy to handle, it’s certainly a good quality when comparing it to some other brands I have used. When printing onto this paper I’ve found it takes quite a while to dry, it doesn’t take an annoyingly long time but I have smudged a couple of photographs because they’ve been wetter for longer than I would of thought. I think this is maybe the reason HP include the perforated edge, which ...

The Body Shop Rich Night Cream with Vitamin E 09/03/2014

Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream.

Price and Availability Another part of a gift set I received for Christmas last year, a night cream isn’t usually something I’d use. The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream comes in a 50ml tub and sells for £11 in The Body Shop stores or online. There are regularly offers/ sales on different ranges at The Body Shop and I’ve seen this cream reduced a few times so if it’s something you like it’s worth waiting until it’s on offer. The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream As I mentioned before the cream comes in a 50ml plastic tub, it’s a very pale pink in colour with pink labelling that fits in with all the other products in the Vitamin E range. The tub has a screw top lid which stays secure, I’ve took this away with me a couple of times and it’s never come unscrewed in my bag. This rich night cream is said to replenish the skins moisture levels when you’re asleep which is apparently when your skin is most receptive. The cream intensively hydrates the skin leaving it soft and smooth. My Experience This Vitamin E Night Cream has the same subtle, slightly florally scent as all the other Vitamin E products. The cream is a very pale pink colour and although it’s quite thick its silky soft giving it a really luxurious feel. When rubbing the cream into my face it feels really indulgent, once on it feels really light and sinks into the skin easily. I don’t find I need to use a lot to get good coverage and for my skin to feel suitably moisturised. I really like ...

The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes 09/03/2014

Vitamin E Cleansing Wipes.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes Price and Availability I really like The Body Shop’s Vitamin E range and received a gift set for Christmas last year. Part of this set was these Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes. A pack of these wipes if bought individually is £6 which in my opinion is pretty expensive and a lot more than I usually pay for a pack of cleansing wipes. Mainly due to the price I’d never tried these wipes before but was glad when I received them in my gift set as I’d get to see if they were worth the money. The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes The wipes come as wipes usually do in a plastic packet with a sticker which keeps the wipes fresh, there’s 25 wipes in the pack. These wipes are said to remove make up and impurities, helping to cleanse, tone, moisturize and protect the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed, soft and smooth. The Vitamin E contained in the wipes is used to moisturise and as an antioxidant to protect skin from the environment. The wipes are bio degradable and suitable for all skin types. My Experience These Vitamin E wipes have the lovely, subtle florally scent to them that all the products in the Vitamin E range do. The wipes are very soft and feel good quality; the wipes themselves are nice and thick with just the right amount of wetness to them. When wiping the face with these wipes they have an almost creaminess to them, the moisturising properties are easy to feel. I wouldn’t really say that these wipes make my face feel clean as such, mainly because of ...

Transcend SDHC Class 10 32 GB 08/03/2014

Transcend SDHC 32GB Memory Card.

Transcend SDHC Class 10 32 GB Price and Availability I bought the Transcend 32GB SDHC Memory Card when I was on holiday a couple of years ago. I’d taken more pictures than I thought I would on my camera and decided to just buy a new memory card instead of deleting some of the pictures. The choice was limited and I’d never heard of Transcend before but the card was reasonably priced so I decided it would do. This memory card currently sells for £13 on Amazon which is a very reasonable price when compared to other similar memory cards. Transcend 32GB SDHC Memory Card This card is only quite small at about 3cm by 2 cm; it’s also very lightweight too. The card itself is blue in colour and the sticker bears the Transcend logo, it’s a bit more colourful than my other memory cards and can be easily picked out when you’re looking for it. The card has built in error correction code, which detects any transfer errors and corrects them to ensure that date isn’t lost. There’s also recovery software that this memory card allows you to put on your computer for free, the software searches for any files erased from this card and retrieves them which is a handy feature. My Experience In use I find the card to be high quality, there’s never any glitches when taking photo’s and the card always seems to save images quickly. When shooting video the memory card runs smoothly and I’ve never had any problems. In use I’ve found this memory card no different to more expensive cards I’ve used, it has an up to 17MB/s write ...
