Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows 19/06/2007

Give Your PC an XBox edge :)

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows The XBox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver is a nifty little device that allows you to connect up to four standard Xbox 360 controllers (with headsets) to your PC. This means that you can use Xbox 360 controllers to play your favourite games on your PC allowing you to improve gameplay and make any game feel like your playing on a 360. It is simple to connect through USB comes with an installation disc that is easy to use. Connecting controllers is simple and you can even bring up a small 360-style interface to show you which controllers are connected, both features that 360 owners will find very familiar. You can also connect the 360 racing wheel addon. The controllers do sometimes suffer from slightly reduced sensitivity, especially in the analogue sticks, when compared with the 360, but their perfomance is still much better than other third-party PC controllers. Personally, I would recommend this product if you already own a 360 but also play alot of PC games but I wouldn't got out of your way to buy the receiver and pads as it is rather costly when compared with other solutions. Still, on its own, this is a very useful piece of hardware and at a very reasonable price and I recommend it to all.

With a budget of £500, I narrowed down the choices to a few, including this laptop. I eventually chose this one for a range of reasons: First, most laptops within this price range have less than 512MB of RAM (usually 256MB) which can be a let-down when multi-tasking. Second, the DVD-Multicombo drive provided is one of the most reliable i have seen (and now used) and is compatible with virtually every piece of CD and DVD writing/authoring software, available on the market. It is also incredibly fast and essential for people who need to make regular back-ups or copies of their files. Third, the laptop comes bundled with alot of pre-installed and optional software. Now some may say that it is often unfair for companies to bundle in their own software as it often adds to the price, but in this case we can see that the price remains incredibly low. Importantly, Toshiba's ConfigFree Software which is brilliant in the detection of wireless connections and also in its troubleshooting techniques for detecting errors in attempting to connect to wireless network. Fourth, unlike some companies, this software REALLY IS OPTIONAL. It can be removed easily and swiftly, and reinstalled again, if necessary, just as fast. As ...
