Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Tutti Frutti 16/09/2015

Tutti Frutti!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Tutti Frutti I tend to wear lipsticks or lip stains on a daily basis and due to this I have tried many different brands, despite this I can find them to be quite drying on the lips, especially with daily use, and don't always leave the lips in the best condition. So when Revlon released their new lip butters a few months ago I decided to pick up a few to see whether they were in fact long lasting, but with the consistency of a balm. The lip butter by Revlon is essentially a lipstick with the main qualities and characteristics of a lip balm. The Revlon lip butters are meant to have the same pigmentation and colour choice of that of a lipstick, along with the longevity of these, yet with a consistency of a balm making it both non drying and nourishing to wear. ~~Price and Availability~~ These lip butters are priced at £7.99 each. I find this fairly reasonable, though the fact I normally pay this much for a lipstick and this is meant to be more a 'balm' style product did make the price seem a little more than I had expected. Nonetheless it did seem fitting with the pricing of all Revlon's other make up items and did not stick out on the counter as being one of the more expensive ones. That being said they are currently on 2 for £10 at Boots, which I think puts them at a much more reasonable price at just £5 each. (Offer on selected Revlon cosmetics as of 16/09/15). Revlon products, along with these lip butters are now available in numerous places. They can be purchased in the likes of ...

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick 107 15/09/2015

Rimmel 107!

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick 107 I own many, many lipsticks, too many some would even say yet I am still always the first to be lured into a new release or raved about product; this time it being the Kate Moss Collection for Rimmel, in particular the matte lipstick range. I tend to have a love hate relationship with many of my matte lipsticks in that I love the longevity of them and the finish of them, yet hate the way they are sometimes uncomfortable or drying to wear so I was looking forward to see whether this range by Rimmel would fair any better. In the autumn/winter months (yes, I am referring to the weather now when I say that, eek!) I tend to lean towards a darker red or berry toned lip so the shade that I decided on purchasing was 107 which seemed to be the shade in the range which suited what I was looking for most. ~~Price and Availability~~ Kate Moss currently has two different ranges of lipsticks out for Rimmel; Matte and Lasting Finish and both of these are priced at £5.49 per lipstick. This particular shade being from the matte range. I actually find this an affordable price and actually expected them to be a little more considering most 'high street' branded lipsticks now cost between £6-9 or more! As with most Rimmel products these lipsticks are available at both Boots and Superdrug, though I have also now seen Rimmel being stocked in both larger supermarkets such as Sainsburys and Asda but also local pharmacies. ~~Shades~~ In the Matte collection there are fewer shades available ...

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow On & On Bronze 14/09/2015

On & On Bronze!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow On & On Bronze I am always on the look out to try new make up items and normally am very quick to jump on the band wagon as soon as a new beauty item, may it be gimmick or not, is bought out. Despite this, I was very slow in trying these Maybelline Colour tattoos, I am not quite sure why this, nonetheless I am very pleased I eventually got round to trying this product. I now own four shades of these colour tattoos, but the colour which I will be reviewing today is 'On and On Bronze', though it has been known to also being called 'Bad gal Bronze' despite being the same shade. ~~The product and its claims~~ Essentially this an eye shadow that claims to last for 24 hours on the eyes, though can also be used as a primer to apply powder eye shadow over the top in order to give the eye shadow a longer period of wear. It is a cream gel formulation so it is therefore meant to have the staying power and pigmentation of a cream eye shadow, but feel a little lighter on the eyes due to the fact it is more a gel formulation, which also allows for a smoother application. Personally, I don't tend to wear my eye shadow for 24 hours, however often my eye shadow does begin to crease or look a little worn throughout the day, especially if I go out of a night so I was hoping that this eye shadow would be different in that it would last the duration of the time I was wearing it. ~~Price and Availability~~ These colour tattoos are very affordable and cost £4.99 and for this price the pot is also a fairly ...

Ted Baker Kassady Purse 12/09/2015

Ted Baker Purse!

Ted Baker Kassady Purse A couple of years ago I had a complete overhaul of my bag and purse collection, which was mainly due to the fact I had way too many bags and most of them were either looking a bit worn or were ones that I no longer used. When doing this I decided to invest in a few more expensive pieces, not necessarily worth hundreds, but just a little more than the high street brands I was previously buying. One of these items was the Ted Baker purse, now these come in a few different sizes, though I opted for the 'Kassady' purse (which I am pretty sure is the one pictured above) in a bright, yet not neon pink colour. This purse was one of the larger sizes as I like that it had lots of compartments and the flap open style, yet was not the largest. The largest to me looked a little more like a clutch bag opposed to a purse due to the size of it. ~~Price and Availability~~ This purse is priced at £75, which may sound a little expensive considering the fact that although Ted Baker may be classed as a 'premium' brand it is also not the best on the market and there may be better manufactured purses on the market. Nonetheless now having owned this purse for close to two and a half years, which is the longest I have ever owned a purse as often I become bored and like to change them up, I thoroughly believe it is worth this price. This is of course for the larger sized purse and there are other sizes available for a little cheaper and the small size is available for £65; though personally I ...

Shiseido Nars Blusher Orgasm"" 11/09/2015

Orgasm Blush!

Shiseido Nars Blusher Orgasm"" I have been a fan of NARS products for a few years now and although I am not a fan of their mascaras, I am a huge fan of both their eye shadows and their foundations so this time upon finding myself yet again at a Nars counter I decided to try out one of their blushes. I personally tend to find myself opting for slightly darker peach/ pink blushes during the autumn/ winter months as I find theses suit my skin tone best and the one that I decided to purchase was the one named 'Orgasm'. This is actually one of Nars' most popular blushes and therefore I had quite high hopes for it. You may have noticed the name- almost all of the Nars blushes (and products in general) tend to lead towards a name with a sexual nature, which can be slightly controversial but if you can get past the names there are some truly lovely products. ~~Price and Availability~~ Their powder blushes are priced at £23 (6grams), which does seem very expensive for a blush, especially as I had never previously owned a 'high end Nars' blusher and I think the most I had ever spent on one before was £8! The price tag does make it more of a treat product or something to pop onto a birthday or Christmas wish list as I know the majority of us portably don't have a spare £23 just for a new blush! NARS products are available from NARS counters, as well as their online store. NARS counters can be found in some large department stores, though often there will be only one NARS counter per area, so where I live House of ...

Pandora Silver Open Work Flower Charm 09/09/2015

Open Work Flower Charm!

Pandora Silver Open Work Flower Charm The idea behind the Pandora Charm Bracelet is that you collect charms and add these onto your bracelet to create your own story. This being said, not all of the beads I own have a story or meaning behind them and may have simply been a gift or sometimes even a treat to myself! I have owned a Pandora birthday for many years now and throughout this time have accumulated many different beads, one of them being this Open Work Flower Charm. Pandora Charms can range in price from anything as little as £15 for the spacer charms up to £100+ for some of the gold charms. This charm costs just £20, which I think is very reasonable for a Pandora charm, especially due to the fact it is a very decent size on the bracelet and is actually probably up there with some of the larger beads on my bracelet. Pandora charms can be found in numerous different places, along with the Pandora stores themselves they can also be found at the likes of House of Fraser and many other larger Jewellery stores, along with a few independent ones. John Greed is also a place looking into for Pandora Charms/Bracelets, it was recently my 21st and I actually received a new Pandora bracelet that was engraved with a personal quote and also a matching bead- as far as I know John Greed is the only place to do this (costing £12.95 regardless of how many letters) so for that extra personal charm it is definitely worth looking into. All Pandora charms are presented beautifully in little white jewellery gift boxes with ...

Benefit Rockateur 07/09/2015

Rockateur!

Benefit Rockateur As much as I love make up and am a huge collector of it, one thing that I'm hugely lacking is that of a variety or blushes. I never seem to fall in love with a blusher the same way I would do a lipstick or mascara and therefore did not have the highest hopes for it. I have owned a few Benefit blushes in the past and have not been blown away by them, yet I have been using 'Hoola' by Benefit for years and am still completely in love with it, so was intrigued to see how I would get along with this Blush. ~~Price and Availability~~ Due to this being a slightly higher end make up product it is certainly not cheap costing £23.50 and admittedly I was a little dubious about spending this on a blusher, though after doing a little research beforehand and having read many positive reviews I was pretty sure I was going to love it. You can sometimes find Benefit products on offer, such as buy 2 items and receive one free, or buy 2 items and receive 10% discount, etc. Debenhams also often hold weekends or months when you can receive extra point on your beauty card when buying make up items, including Benefit. Alongside most Benefit products this is available in larger department stores such as that of House of Fraser, Debenhams, John Lewis, etc. It is also available from independent Benefit stores, along with all the online stores. You can sometimes pick up Benefit items on places such as eBay, however Benefit fakes are often all sold on here so it is worth doing your research and ...

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer Shooting Star 24/08/2015

Shooting Star!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer Shooting Star I am currently working as a free lance make up artist and to me one of the most important things when completing a look is that of the lips, this can be something as simple as finishing off with a pale nude or pink to adding something more intense such as a vibrant red or purple. Due to this I seem to have accumulated stacks of lip products ranging from balms to stains to glosses to lipsticks, though the most recent one I have added to my collection (despite it being out a couple of years) is that of a Rimmel Apocalips. The idea behind this lip product by Rimmel is that it is meant to have both the intensity and lasting power of a lipstick, yet have the shine of a lip lacquer. (There is also a matte range now available). They are also meant to feel creamy and comfortable to wear, I picked up two shades, one being Big Bang and the other shade that I shall be basing this review on 'Shooting Star'; a nude pink shade. ~~Price and Availability ~~ These lip lacquers are normally priced between £6-£7, costing £6.49 in Boots. This being said, the brand Rimmel is often on offer such as 3 for 2 or buy so much and get a free gift worth so much free, so you can often pick them up a little cheaper. They are currently on offer in Boots (24/08/15) where if you buy not of these Apocalips at full price you can purchase another at half price. Alike most highstreet brand make up, these can be purchased from the likes of Boots and Superdug. I have also noticed that my larger Sainsburys and ...

Real Techniques Core Collection 17/08/2015

Core Collection!

Real Techniques Core Collection As mentioned in my previous review I have recently been investing in some new make up brushes, mainly being from the brand Real Techniques. Real techniques was originally a brand of make up brushes released by you tuber and make up artist Samantha Chapman and since having released a few of the original collections she has now teamed up with her sister Nic Chapman to bringing the newer range of brushes. This set is made up of four brushes and named the core collection and is essentially all the brushes you will need for foundation/face make up. The four brushes included are the detailer brush, pointed foundation brush, buffing brush and contour brush. The set is also completed with a lightweight, small little carry case which you can simply slot all the brushes into. ~~Price and Availability~~ This set normally retails between £20 and £24.99, currently costing £21.99 in Boots stores. I personally find this extremely good value for money considering you are getting four brushes in the set, making them a little over £5 each. There are also often offers on Real Techniques brushes such as that of 3 for 2, buy one get one half price, etc so sometimes it is worth looking around for these offers as it then makes the brushes an even better buy. It is currently at a 'sale' price of just £16.79 on feelunique.com, as of the 17/08/15. Alike most of the Real Techniques range these can be found in most Boots stores- I tend to find that the larger stores have a better range of the brushes ...

Real Techniques Brow Brush 16/08/2015

Brow Brush!

Real Techniques Brow Brush I have been into makeup for many years now and although I own many different make up brushes I still continue to add them to my collection. My most recent purchase was this 'Real Techniques brow brush' which is a selection of brushes designed to apply eye make up. Real techniques brushes are designed by Samantha Chapman, who along with her sister do makeup tutorials on YouTube. I had previously owned a couple of Real Techniques brushing before buying this brush, the stippling brush, among others and was very impressed with both the quality and how beautifully it applied make up, so I had high hopes for this brush. ~~Price and Availability~~ These brushes are more commonly available in Boots stores, particularly the larger ones as I have found that the smaller ones don't stock these brushes or they have just one or two different brushes available. They are also available on the Boots online store, along with the Real Techniques website where they cover the full line. I have also seen a few sets of these on eBay at a marginally cheaper price. This brush costs between £6.99 and £7.99, which personally I find to be fairly reasonable as I have seen some brow brushes costing over £20! I have also often seen the Real Technique brushes on offer in boots such as buy one get one half price, 3 for 2 or save 1/3 so it can be worth keeping an eye out for these offers, especially if you are intending on purchasing more than one brush. Using the Brow Brush This brush as suggested by ...

Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer 12/08/2015

Prime Time!

Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer I have never been that into primers, be that I'm too lazy for that extra step when it comes to make up or the fact that I don't notice all that much if a difference when I use one opposed to when I don't. Nonetheless I have tried spout a few different primers, ranging from highstreet to high end and the latest one that I have tries out is this one by BareMinerals being there Prime Time brightening foundation primer. They have a few different primers in their 'prime time' range for different types of skin, for example neutralising for red or uneven skin tone, etc. I opted for the brightening one as I do tend to get quite skin and I sometimes find that my skin can look a little too dull or 'matte' so was hoping that this primer would help to combat this. The primer claims that is is enriched with minerals and antioxidants to help brighten the complexion and extend the wear of your foundation, whilst combating fine lines, larger pores, dry patches and excess oil. It also states that it is suitable for all skin types. ~~Price and Availability~~ This is definitely one of the more expensive primers that I have tried out, costing £22 for 30ml. I have sometimes seen it a little cheaper on the likes of Feel Unique and other online beauty stores like this. Feel unique actually had an offer in once where you reviewed this primer, the foundation, an eyeshadow, eyeliner, blusher, lipgloss and brush for just £40 so it is definitely worth looking around, especially if you are a fan if ...

MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick - Matte 11/08/2015

Ruby Woo!

MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick - Matte I love trying new brands of lipsticks so around a year or two ago when I started to invest in some more expensive, premium make up I decided to give MAC lipsticks a go after reading numerous positive reviews about them. Lipsticks are actually one of MAC's most popular make up products due to their colour payoff and longevity. Being an avid lipstick wearer, whether they be bright, bold shades or sheer nudes this seemed to be exactly what I needed in a lipstick. Although they were pricier than what I have spent on a lipstick in a past, I do believe that their quality surpass' the price and have so far been thoroughly impressed by the MAC lipstick range. ~~Price, Availability and Packaging~~ As previously mentioned, these are a little pricier than your average highstreet lipstick and retail at £14. Although at first I thought this was very expensive for a lipstick when comparing it to the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Tom Ford lipsticks it actually seemed a very reasonable price for a premium brand lipstick. Sometimes the limited edition lipsticks are a little pricier, though this often only £1-£1.50 and often come in limited edition packaging. MAC also do a 'Viva Glam' lipstick range in which the full £14-£16 cost of the lipstick goes to a charity to help men, women and children with HIV and Aids. It is very difficult to find any MAC lipsticks (or MAC make up) at a discounted price, however Debenhams do often do an offer of 10% of beauty in which the MAC brand is included. ...

Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss 14/07/2015

Baby Lips!

Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss I had been wanting to try out the Maybelline 'Baby Lips' for a while, a lip balm that was very big in America and had not yet been release in the UK and although I could have purchased it online I did not really want to pay the upmarked price or the postage costs for an item that wasn't really a necessity. Therefore when they were introduced into the UK just over a year ago, I have tried four of the different 'flavours' from the range now and have to say that this one being 'Peach Kiss' is by far my favourite. ~~Price and Availability~~ These lip balms are very affordable costing just £2.99 each and can often be found on offers such as 2 for £5, 3 for 2, etc. They are currently (as of 14/07/15) in and offer at Boots; which I believe to run across the entire Maybelline line of buy one item and get another half price. Alike all Maybelline products these lip balms are very widely available. They can be found in the likes of Boots, Superdrug, Sainsburys, Tesco (all large supermarkets) as well as many online retailers. There are six different variations available in the original Baby lips range them being; Cherry Me, Peach Kiss, Hydrate, Intensive, Pink Punch and Mint Fresh. Some of these lip balms are tinted and some of them are 'plain'. Peach Kiss is one of the tinted ones. One thing to point out is that on all the sides of the tubes it says for 'adult use only', I'm not too sure as to why this is as there aren't any extremely small parts and neither are there any ...

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara 13/07/2015

Luscious Mascara!

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara I am a self confessed mascara junkie, I often have numerous different tubes on the go and am always on the lookout for something 'better'. The latest mascara that I have added to my collection and been trying out is that of the Revlon 'Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara'. Upon purchasing this mascara, I had not actually heard anything about it and only picked it due to when spending a certain amount on Revlon makeup you receive a free mascara, so I entirely had no idea what to expect from this mascara, other than the fact it was a mascara designed to both lengthen and plump/volimize the lashes. It also claims that is has a 'grow luscious' lash enhancing formula in it which is meant to work with your natural lash growth cycle to help them grow longer and healthier. ~~Price and Availability~~ This mascara is currently placed at £9.99, though is also on offer at Boots stores. The Revlon range is currently on 3 for 2, this mascara is included in that deal as of 09/07/2015. I don't normally tend to spend over £8 on a high street mascara as personally I think there are many great mascaras that cost less than this on the market, so I was very interested to see whether I thought it was worth it's almost £10 price point. Alike many Revlon and high street branded make up this mascara is available in the likes of Boots and Superdrug, along with their online stores. Revlon products are not also being stocked in some pharmacies, along with the larger supermarket stores such as Tesco, Asda ...

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation 10/07/2015

L'oreal Infallible Foundation!

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation I am one of those people that are constantly on the look out for the next best thing when it comes to make up, in particular when it comes to foundation. Over the years I have tried many different foundations and although some of them have come very close I am still yet to find the one I find myself constantly reaching for or returning to. That being said, I am a huge fan of the L'Oreal foundations, in particular the True Match foundation, so when there latest edition 'Infallible 24H- Matte' was released I figured I had to give it a try. ~Price and Availability~ This foundation comes in at under the £10 mark at £7.99 for a 35ml tube (therefore getting slightly more foundation than the average 30ml tube) making it one of L'Oreal's most affordable foundations. Alike most high street make up items this can also often be found on offer, such as the likes of 3 for 2. Due to this being a high street foundation it can be found in the likes of Boots and Superdrug, along with their online stores. L'oreal can often also be found at many different retailers online and is also available at some pharmacies and larger supermarkets. The packaging for this foundation is definitely not the prettiest, with it being in a squeezy plastic tube, though this having been said I actually find the packaging to be very practical. The thin nozzle and squeeze tube allow for greater control when squeezing out the desired amount of foundation and meaning that the chance of any waste is ...
