AutoEurope 31/05/2006

A real alternative to HolidayAutos.co.uk

AutoEurope I first wrote this review when I booked the car and based on that experience, I can truely recommend Auto-Europe as a great alternative to holiday autos..... NOT only did I get a remarkable cheap deal...(less than £600 for 4 weeks, Passat) but recently they sent me an email saying that the boooking I made was now actually available for £49 less and arranged a refund.... unbelievable service and very cheap. The deal they gave me was with Europecar, and is several couple of hundred less than europecar are offering them selves, so read on and then just do it! This is, at the moment a brief review, I have as you may have seen reviewed and used Holiday autos to book cars in the past, until last weekend that is.... While searching for the best deal for my summer vacation I was trawling the internet for car deals, I was looking to book a mid sized car with A/C for 4 weeks in august to drive around France and Spain. Of course I went straight to holiday autos and indeed they offered me a great deal. I almost booked it immediately, but instead figured I would look a bit more when I discovered Auto-Europe. Unbelievably the same car, same pick-up and same dates were a massive £300 cheaper. I searched for the catch.... nope... could not find one. Still, I did not book, instead I returned to holiday autos and tested their price match promise, and try as they did the best they could do was £40 more than the auto-Europe price, (a good effort, and not a bad deal) None the less I decided ...

holidayautos.com 20/01/2006

Happy Since 1999

holidayautos.com I have been using holidayautos now for the last 6 years and I will use them again this summer. I have booked cars in USA, France and Spain all from holidayautos. One might say I have been lucky because I have no complaints I have heard tales of poor customer service, but have not myself experienced it. Each and every time I have got exactly what I booked (typically a brand new family sized saloon), for where I booked it and for when I booked it. Each and every time the car I have received has been from a well known car hire company, with the expected service. The joy comes in that it is all paid upfront and you simply present a voucher and take the car. Maybe I have been lucky, but like I have said I will use them again and probably again. I like the fact that if I do break down in France then I can phone either holidayautos and speak to someone English who speaks French and will apparently sort out the situation, or if feeling brave I can call the car hire company directly and still receive the same service they offer their direct customers. I think that with all service industries there are horror stories regarding customer care and with all things you take your chances but in my opinion, the low costs, all inclusive deals and my happy and unfaultable experience advocate my recommendation. Bon voyage

Hotel Kong Arthur, Copenhagen 20/01/2006

At Home with the Kong

Hotel Kong Arthur, Copenhagen A very comfortable hotel with friendly and it would appear recently refitted. Beautiful located not more than 10-15 minutes walk from the central station and the main shopping area. We were there between Christmas and the new year, with a snow covered city centre, The hotel is located next to a major water way with beautiful canal side views,( though the hotel is set back slightly so don't expect views from your room). The hotel provided all the usual facilities, such as phone, internet and TV ( No pay for view lots of channels and all free and multilanguage.)and a great and varied breakfast, with plenty of fresh and tasty food to choose. Though there is no room service to talk of the staff are happy to make sandwiches on request and they have an arrangement with the local Dominos pizza who bring orders directly to your room and charge the bill to your room. It has a homely and friendly bar were you are always welcome. Copenhagen is a great city and the Hotel Kong Arthur is a great base from which to see it. Again requested more info ...well here goes... At first glanze the hotel looked small and set back but on walking through the doors you are met by a magnificent stair case and many suits of armour. the walls are dress with statly and appropriate picture and object that reflect the ragal round table theme that runs through the building even to the key phobes that are representations of the mythical round table of the all so infamous British king. The staff speak ...

Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel, Helsinki 20/01/2006

Perfect Location in Centre of Helsinki

Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel, Helsinki A very comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful located not more than 5 minutes walk from the central station and the main shopping area. We were there at Christmas and it was beautiful, with a snow covered city centre, in the evening we were able to walk in the park located immediately to the left of the hotel. During the day we walked to the shops including Helsinki's main department store Stockmann. The Plaza was even able to provide special pillows on request. Corporate it may be but the great style, restaurant and facilities, and is surrounded by restaurants bars and a casino (When I say surrounded they are all close, but not too close, if you know what I mean). We loved our stay in Helsinki though short and brief, we would go back and be very happy to stay at the Plaza. I am told that more info is required, it is difficult because this is a typical corporate Radisson hotel, with Marble floors and large atrium style reception. I guess what is memorable other than its key location, and lovely staff is the magnificent Dinning room / resturant which serves both fantastic evening meals as well as the sort of "satisfying a need" food such as club sandwiches and great burgers. The breakfasts however were outstanding with one of the largest selections of hot and cold, fresh and traditional breakfast fare. It is everything you would want from a SAS Radisson with the added bonus of a prime location, and lets face it if you are going to Helsinki, it is the ...
