Darjeeling (India) 10/06/2005

Darjeeling & Hotel Capital

Darjeeling (India) In the beginning... I took off with my boyfriend and met up with two friends from NZ in February and we did a 4 week tour of India. Wow what a country! We arrived in Delhi and from there headed off into the deserts of Rajasthan, travelling through Pushkar, Jodhpur, Jasailmer, Agra and Varanasi. We were all eager to fit in as much as we could in such a short time so we decided to end our trip on a mammoth train journey to New Jailpuri (NJP) followed by a taxi ride to Darjeeling, okay let me think who's idea was that?!? Darjeeling is nestled up high in the Himalyas surrounded by mountainous scenery with beautiful crisp clean air and some of the most lovely, friendly people you'll meet in India. I must say (although I'm sure my boyfriend and friends wouldn't have thought it at the time) it was well worth the treacherous jeep ride. The journey is madness, the roads are very twisty and as I discovered the jeep driver prefers to keep driving for as long as humanly possible before eventually stopping the vehicle to allow passengers the comfort of being sick in private away from the beady eyes of the locals who are obviously wise enough to know that you never sit in the back seat of a jeep on the way to Darjeeling!!! I'll say no more on the subject. So yes, it was all ...

Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z40 09/06/2005

Casio cam - the one to buy!!

Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z40 When I went to buy my first digi-cam I hadn't been planning on spending so much but when I saw this one I fell in love with it!! This is a very good looking camera. It's worth paying that little bit extra - the picture quality is great and the battery lasts forever. Pros - excellent picture quality, easy to use, very durable battery, holds many pictures Cons - Large charger stand - would be useful if the charger stand was optional I can't comment too much on the durability of the camera as it is still very new but it has worked great so far and it's the quality of the pictures that really makes this camera so great. Generally my photo taking leaves a lot to be desired but with this camera even my photos look good!! ...
