Jackson C. Frank - Jackson C. Frank 26/07/2001

3rd Album has it's moments of glory.

Jackson C. Frank - Jackson C. Frank The 3rd album by Steps is a mixed offering, which is expected as it is a transistion album. The old material is still here, classics like Summer Of Love & Stomp keep the core fanbase happy but on this album each member pens their own track and they expand their material to other writers. Songs like the single, It's The Way You Make Me Feel, comes from Sweden with the writers behind hits from Britney Spears & Backstreet Boys. Songs like the title track, Buzzz and Happy Go Lucky come from the US with writers/producers Riprock 'n' Alex G who are known for their work with NSYNC and their excellent remix of Britney Spears' Oops! I Did It Again. In more detail I will talk about the new track which is included on the US release which was released in July 2001: Mars & Venus (We Fall In Love Again) Written by: Dane DeViller/Sean Hossein/Jorgen Elofsson/Andy Goldmark This song has to be one of the best midtempo songs Steps have done to date. It is not too disimilar to Hear'Say's Pure & Simple - Mars & Venus is slower than that though - the song has lead vocals from Faye and it is sung very well indeed. The song is also produced excellently. Strangly though the song is written by Elofsson (It's The Way You Make Me Feel) and Goldmark (Buzz, Happy Go Lucky) which is the first time I've seen the ex-cherion and a member of US Riprock 'n' Alex G do a song together. Perhaps there will be more of this in the future. I give this song a 9/10 it is really good.

Steps - Steps 26/07/2001

Not a bad debut album.

Steps - Steps This album was their first offering back in 1998. The first album is majority produced by Pete Waterman and the team at PWL Studios. The album includes the great singles One For Sorrow & Better Best Forgotten. Also includes the tracks 5,6,7,8 & Last Thing On My Mind. 5,6,7,8 is the biggest selling UK single not to enter the UK Top 10 and Last Thing On My Mind is the cover of the 80s song. Neither of which where major sellers on the singles front, but LTOMM did enter the UK Top 10. Despite the singles, this album has its bad moments, tracks like Experienced have to be "better best forgotten" as it seems that these tracks are added to make the album have enough tracks to make people buy the album. All in all its a first album from a group which is now very big in the UK. Not as good as many first albums but still has it's fair share of Steps classics.

Steptacular - Steps 28/08/2000

This best is to come

Steptacular - Steps Steptacular is the perfect second album from pop group Steps. It builds on their first album with ease and increases their popularity within the UK music market. The success of this album could be partly to blame for the Steps-wannabes flooding the market at this time. Unusally for the UK market this album sold almost the same amount as their first showing that STEPS have a huge support here in the UK give the Spice Girls a run for their money on the Pop Music front, even though the Spice Girls have now gone the RnB route this just opens the doors for Steps even more. Their new album should be even better with the best pop writers in the business working on it, the best is still to come from the UK Five piece.

Freeserve 28/08/2000

Freeserve I've been using Freeserve since it was launched and have had no problems with it. I have recently moved onto their unmetered package and yes there are problems when connecting during off peak hours but for £10 a month for 24/7 unlimited access I can't see that being a problem. If I was paying more I'd expect a better service but once I do get connected it is fast enough for the average user. I ger download speeds of about 4.8Kbps on a 56K modem on a huge extention. Freeserve could offer a little more webspace but their range of e-mail features is good for everyone. If you are looking for a good unmetered ISP and can wait for a while to connect during weekday peak hours then this is the ISP for you!

Vodafone 28/08/2000

Vodafone I've been using Vodafone for over a year now, and have no plans to move. My sister uses another network and has problems with bad coverage or busy tones but with Vodafone these are very rare. A great network with excellent extras like webmail and having news and sport sent directly to your mobile via SMS. Also works in over 200 countries abroad which is useful to businessmen! Overall I have had no problems with vodafone and have heard complains about other networks and peoples problems with them! I would recommend the vodafone network to any of my friends.
