Garnier Belle Colour 20 Minute ColorEase Gel 16/03/2004

Be The Belle Of The Ball Or........

Garnier Belle Colour 20 Minute ColorEase Gel ............At least touch up your roots!! I have a confession to make fellow ciaoers! I cringe when I see people with dyed hair that’s got inches of new growth and they haven’t bothered to touch it up, ewww. I know it’s judgmental but I have to say in my defense, I don’t heckle or anything, it just makes me cringe! It’s not to bad if it’s a little new growth but there’s no excuse for inches of it (well maybe lack of money but then if you picked a colour closer to your natural colour it wouldn’t be as obvious!) If you dye your hair, try and keep up with your roots PLEASE. Okay gripe over. So there I was with two inches of new hair growth and feeling like I stuck out like a sore thumb, it’s time for action and I’m off like a shot down to my local chemist, heehee. It can happen to anyone, even me! After pondering on which product to buy, I decided on Garnier Belle-Color as it states on the box that it’s and I quote “As easy as a shampoo”. Woohoo! Okay then, I’ve picked out my colour, which is intense dark brown, and I’m off to the checkout. *** The Price and Availabilty *** Well this is widely available and can be found in supermarkets and chemists, you’ll probably come across it in Boots and Superdrug too, but prices probably vary a lot so shop around. I buy mine from my local chemist and it cost me 3.99 GBP but you can buy it from Tesco at the moment for 3.97GBP (I just checked Tesco for that price so I’ll be buying mine from there now me ...

Maybelline One by One Mascara 29/02/2004

New Mini Brush Makes Lashes Lush.

Maybelline One by One Mascara Oh I do love trying out new products and Maybelline products are always welcome in my makeup bag. I’ve usually buy Maybelline Full ‘n’ Soft waterproof mascara but as usual with me, advertising works and I wanted to try the new One by One mascara. I must say I didn’t buy a Maybelline mascara last time and regretted it, instead I bought L’O’Real Lash Arcitect and was very disappointed indeed, it was and is the worst mascara I have ever used and it cost me nearly 9 quid to find out that I could have lashes that spiderman would proudly don as his legs! Anyway I’m happy to say this is not the case with this little beauty! *”*”*”* What’s The Story For This Lash Glory *”*”*”* Well, this product has an exclusive new mini-brush, which claims to find lashes you didn’t even know you had and reach those little blighters that try and hide in the corners of your eyes! I other words it claims to reach every lash from root to tip on both top and bottom lashes whilst separating your lashes and defining each one. It has a patented lengthening formula too which, is anti clumping! Always a good thing in terms of mascara, especially after my horrendous previous purchase!! *”*”*”* Packaging *”*”*”* Pretty basic, a tube of mascara encased in a plastic cover with a cardboard back which, is simply torn off to get to your product. Don’t forget to read the back though as that’s where the ingredients are!! If you happen to be allergic to anything, then simply check through the ...

Campbell's Carrot & Corriander Soup 12/11/2003

IT WILL HELP YOU SEE IN THE DARK......

Campbell's Carrot & Corriander Soup . Well it probably won’t but that’s what I was always told when I was a youngster in the hope that I would eat my veggies, lol. Actually I do love my veggies and this soup is tops, I tried to be harsh and find fault but its pretty hard to do with something that taste’s this good. I would go so far as to say this soup comes close to taking over my all time favourite, Heinz tomato. Close but not quite, lol. As I’m watching the old weight at the moment and only indulging in naughty treats once a week this is a great way of getting something really tasty that doesn’t taste like crap and is actually very low in fat and calories. More on the nutritional info later (if you care :O)) So what do you get for your money then? Well this will cost you around 65p for a 500ml carton and its money well spent in my book I can tell you. This is not my usual calorific opinion but a good healthy alternative to an ice cream op (I do lurve my ice cream you know). The carton informs me that it is a ready to serve soup (but then isn’t most bought soup, with the exception of those horrible cuppa soup things, ewwww) and is sealed for freshness. Well I’d bl**dy well hope so otherwise it would be rancid wouldn’t it. Oh I am being a stickler today aren’t I! The packaging is quite nice as you can see from the picture, which accompanies this op so I won’t go into detail, but I will say it does appeal to the eye and the appetite. It has a good shelf life and can be found on the ...

Meet Bondage Bear Isn't He Cute

condomcafe.com I was surfing the net looking for a site, which sold condoms at a reasonable price and happened to find this one in amongst the thousands my search engine came up with. I think I found more than I bargained for :O)) HOME PAGE *:*:*:*:*: The home page for this site is rather cute. In the centre of the page you’ll see a little condom man dressed in a helmet and standing on a wriggly sperm, lol. Very sweet and fun, underneath this little fellow you are welcomed to the coolest condom and gift site on the web! As I haven’t visited many so I wouldn’t vouch for that but I felt confident I’d be able to find what I was looking for. Surrounding the condom man is a variety of pictures from condoms to bondage bears. Each picture has a sort description next to it, so you’ll know what it will take you too. Across the top of the page is also a choice of places to visit. About the café *:*:*:*:*:*:*:* Click on this and it will tell you what’s on the site. Sort and to the point (no pun intended) Condoms *:*:*:*: Click on this and you will be given a choice of whether to search for brand names or the type of condom you wish to purchase. And what a variety of choice there is too. Everything you could think of, here’s a list of the choices: WHICH TYPE ARE YOU! *:*:*:*:*:*:*:* :*:*: Standard, Flavoured and coloured (ooooohh) Ribbed and studded (the mind boggles) Joke (Obviously novelty condoms) Extra Large (woohoo) Extra Safe (for those ...

Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew 02/08/2003

My Flavour Of The Month.

Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew Well some people aren’t really into ice cream in a big way and don’t really understand me for my passion for it. To tell you the truth I didn’t really start LOVING it until my last pregnancy. But even after the birth of my daughter (over 6 months ago now) I still MUST have my ice cream fix at least once a week (we all like something on a regular basis don’t we, ahem!). If my thighs and ass could afford to be any bigger I would quite happily eat ice cream every day and blow the healthy eating but alas my arse and thighs refuse to accommodate my passion. So on with the review I hear you all cry, lol. Stop talking about you’re ar*se niclemamy! -Caramel Chew Chew- ~’~’~’~’~’~’~’~ ’~’~’~’~ Okay, the tub informs me this is a caramel flavoured ice cream WITH caramel and chocolaty covered caramel chunks, phew! There’s a whole lot of caramel going on isn’t there! I love B&J caramel but even I thought it might be a little to much of a good thing have three sorts of caramel running though the ice cream but I WAS soooo willing to try it out and make a decision, lol. -OMG THE TASTE- ~’~’~’~’~’~’~’~ ’~’~’~ It’s not very often I am rendered speechless by a food of any sort and apart from B&J The Full Vermonty I can honestly say this is a veritable taste sensation of huge proportions. I LURVE it. After prising off the lid of my tub of gooey ice cream I was impressed firstly by the appearance. I could instantly see there was plenty of caramel swirling around (at ...

Infinity Gravity Walker Plus 13/01/2003

Tone Up Your Wobbly Bits.....

Infinity Gravity Walker Plus Are you feeling chubby? Are you feeling blue? Don’t be glum, get off your bum and do the AirWalk it’s goooood, lol. Sorry for the introduction to this review but I felt it needed a bit of a rhyme (not a very good one, I admit). In June of 2002 I felt the need to get into shape, I’d given birth to a beautiful daughter in April and was feeling a little out of shape to say the least! While I was pregnant I managed to put on a whopping 4 stones, wow! Thanks to ice cream and various other treats my butt was looking for a sign that said “Wide Load”. I’d seen loads of Air Walkers in magazines and heard good things from a few people who’d used them and thought they where a great way to get into shape so I thought I’d check out the net to see how much these things cost! After a good investigation I decided to go for the Gravity Walker Plus as it was on special offer at the time and there’s no better time to buy than when it’s on offer is there? I bought mine from Littlewoods Index and it cost me 99.99 GBP at the time but they have put up the price to 104.99 GBP, which is still a bit of a bargain as they have still reduced the price from the RRP. I’ve seen this sold on various websites for the princely sums of 145.00 GBP so do shop around! It was delivered to my door and it weighs approximately 4 maybe 5 stone (maybe even a little more). So getting it out of the box was a bit of a struggle. As the main frame of the Walker is already assembled it didn’t take ...

Kiddy Buggy Board 07/01/2003

Mammy Can I Go On My Bubby Board Now Preeeze.

Kiddy Buggy Board Well my sons almost two and a half now and likes to walk everywhere or rather says he’s going to then ten minutes down the road and he wants a carry. Now this wasn’t to bad when I only had one child but now with a daughter too I had to think of a remedy for the situation. I originally bought a second hand double buggy (I wanted to see if I’d like them before shelling out a wad of dosh on a new one) when I was pregnant with my daughter but after two weeks I found it weighed ton and was very cumbersome getting on and off public transport so I decided I wanted buy a buggy board. I remembered reading about this wonderful invention here on ciao but I’d not seen anybody with one attached to their buggy. I asked about and my cousin said she’d seen a few people with them and they looked okay, she also said that the children on them looked happy enough and not at all uncomfortable so off I went to surf the net to see if I could find a reasonably priced one! I should probably add that a Buggy Board is a sort of two-wheeled skateboard, which attaches to the rear of your buggy and your child stands on this rather than having to walk! Mission impossible :~:~:~:~:~:~:~: ~:~:~: Well my mission (and I chose to accept it) was to find one for next to nothing or around the £30.00 mark but I could only find two places, which sold these little beauties. www.tesco.com and www.cheekyrascals.co.uk. These are made by a company called Lascal and you can visit their website at ...

The Breast Support Site On The Net...

figleaves.com (easyshop.co.uk) I thought I’d tell you all about my favorite lingerie site, it’s great for every woman who’s sick of buying shoddy garments and wants to treat her knocker’s to something special. Yes ladies we all deserve a little support in life and you’ll get the breast kind of support here at Figleaves.com. For the men out there who might feel left out of it all, they too could pop along to Figleaves.com as they have a great selection of manly items that they may be interested in. If not you could always go ask the lady in your life if she’d like a nice new bra or another luxury item for Christmas. Make sure you know her size though boys as it’s not going to be a luxury gift if it doesn’t fit!! At Figleaves.com you will find only the best name brands available. I personally love Charnos and Ballet and Panache as I’m quite well endowed shall we say and they do some lovely bra’s designed especially for comfort and support while giving the bust a bit of the old Va Va Voom. I recently bought my first Wonderbra from Figleaves and apart from being amazed I could get my size, I was very happy with my purchase when it arrived. In fact I’ve been happy with all my purchases from this company. So let me tell you what I find so great about it. *”*”*”*”* Brands *”*”*”*”* As I said earlier I like my brand names when it comes to lingerie, well bra’s anyway. I’ll happily wear regular knickers but when it comes to bras or over the shoulder boulder holders, as I like to call em, I prefer to ...

Everything that starts with W ... 29/11/2002

What am I......

Everything that starts with W ... Okay, I have officially been pasted on the “what am I” challenge by Trampus (Sarah)and I’ve had a wee think about what I wanted to be for this little op. Without further ado I will plunge right in and get started. Okay so here are the clues: I come in loads of different colours and I’m man made. I love to sparkle and light up your nights but you’ll have to plug me in first, as I don’t take batteries (but some cheaper version might). Some people like to fuss over me and give me gifts, which they will lay before me and around me, I’m so spoilt, or at least I always think I am until one day everyone nicks em back and leave me gift less! I like to dress up and can be quite extravert when my owner gets carried away. I also have an excellent view up a sweet girls skirt; she’s a real angel!!! You won’t see me in your house for much of the year, in fact you will only see me for around 12 days unless you visit niclemamy’s house which means you would have been able to see me for at least 3 weeks now, lol. So you have all the clues, I could have given more but then it would have been even easier, I’m sure you’ll have guessed by now anyway, as it was a little easy. Tell me, what am I……..

originalsource.co.uk 18/11/2002

Freebies Galore But Is There Owt More....

originalsource.co.uk Well yes there is,loads of information on the site as far as products and origin are concerned but I wanted to buy, buy, buy. As we are all aware it’s nearly Christmas and to digress for a second I have to say I AM SOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT THAT, heeeheeheee. I am so excited in fact that I have my decorations up, that’s not as sad as it sounds though as I do have two small children who now think their home is Santa’s grotto :O) So on with the review. I have decided that this year for some of the girly’s in my family; I am going to make up boxes, which will hold the contents of very lovely Lush and Original Source products. So off I toddle to www.originalsource.co.uk. I know there are plenty of you out there who will be very familiar with the site but for those who aren’t I am going to give you a little information. Before I get carried away, I’ll just tell those Original Source virgins out there that this company makes various products, which include, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and deodorants etc. I could go on but I’m sure you get the general gist of what’s on offer here. All the products are made with only the best ingredients and essential oils to give a really luxurious experience whether you’re washing your hair or anywhere else (ahem) ::::::The Home Page:::::: The home page is very colourful, made up of mostly shades of green and yellow with the odd dash of orange to give a little contrast. It’s very eye-catching and not garish at all. You ...

Mothercare Disposable Breast Pads 18/11/2002

MY CUPS NO LONGER RUNNETH OVER

Mothercare Disposable Breast Pads Well a lot of you out there will be aware that I recently gave birth to a bouncing baby girl (ahhhhh). I decided to breast feed her way before I gave birth as I’d breast fed my son with great success. One of the first things you learn when you breast feed your child is the need for protection! By that I mean some form of pad that will catch the excess milk flow. There’s nothing worse than being out shopping or going for a stroll and suddenly realising you have become a human sprinkler system. Covered in milk and no-where to hide. I’ve tried all the brands you care to think of but these are tops for me! Gold tops that is, lol. PRICE Vs BRAND ;'-;'-;'-;'-;'- ;'-;'- I always shop around for everything and breast pads are no different. Price is obviously a deciding factor when considering which brand your going to choose. 40 mothercare disposable breast pads = £2.50 100 mothercare disposable breast pads = £4.50 You will probably find the boxes of 100 are nearly always on special offer. Buy two and get a third free. Which is fab as it makes these the most affordable ones I’ve found. All the brands I’ve tried have been excellent at the job they are intended for but they are seldom on offer. Johnsons do 30 for £2.99 Boots do 40 for £3.25 Tesco do 40 for £2.29 and 80 for £3.99 and I can recommend these if you can’t get to a branch of mothercare but I have never seen these on offer otherwise I would buy mine from here as it would be more ...

Lush Bath Ballistic Avobath 03/11/2002

All Citrus Fans Are Gonna Love This One.

Lush Bath Ballistic Avobath I love Lush products and I’m not afraid to say it, so there!!!! On a recent trip into town I bought myself a few treats and also a few Christmas presents (not for me). On top of my list of shops to visit was good old Lush. I swear I can smell this shop from about 100 yards away. Mmmhmmm. I always buy myself a bath ballistic (or bath bomb, as they are more commonly known) as I find most of them very refreshing or relaxing and even moisturising, depending on what I’m looking for. They are also a great way to pamper yourself if you feel the need and I do as often as possible :O) I decided to go for a refreshing one on this visit. This is a new ballistic in the Lush range and I was surprised to find it listed here on ciao as I was half expecting to have to make a request for it (I’ve obviously beaten someone else into writing about it first, sorry :O). The first thing I noticed about this ballistic was the colour. It’s green or rather lime green, very bright and eye-catching. It really stood out on the self amongst the other ballistics – it wanted me to pick it up and sniff it, so I did, lol. It smells fabulously citrusy – so that was it for me. I put it in a little bag (or rather I put 3 in separate bags as it smelt so good I knew I’d need more than one) and after filling my basket with loads of other goodies I headed for the till. This one weighs in at 200g so its one of the larger in the range and it costs 1.85p. Worth every penny if you ask ...

Ben & Jerry's Dairy Ice Cream, Chocolate Fudge Brownie 26/10/2002

Chocolate Heaven Since Quarter Past Eleven....

Ben & Jerry's Dairy Ice Cream, Chocolate Fudge Brownie It was around that time when I opened my tub the other night, lol. I’m not well at the moment (arrrrrr sympathy please), I’ve got a sore throat and runny nose (what do you mean that’s to much information for you!!) and of coarse I’m going to use this as an excuse to eat as much ice cream as possible. What better way to…. 1: Make oneself feel better and 2: ease the symptoms of a sore throat. (Off topic for a moment) Why is it, when I have a cold, my partner has the flu? He’s just after the sympathy vote if you ask me (he’s not getting any, lol) Okay then, on with the review…… ~ B&J’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie ~ ^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^ %^%^%^ The tub describes this ice cream as decadent, woohooo! It’s a chocolate ice cream with chocolate brownie pieces. It boasts that only the best ingredients have been used. It sounds like it’s going to be all rather chocolaty doesn’t it? ~ The Proofs In The Tasting, Isn’t It? ~ ^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^ %^%^%^%^ Now you really must love chocolate to even want to try this, it’s not for everyone’s taste buds! It’s definitely a chocolate taste sensation, no doubt about that by jiggery! After prising off the lid of MY tub of ice cream, I was instantly aware of the chocolaty scent that wafted up my nostrils, bearing in mind that I do have a cold (and a sore throat). This means it’s got to be really chocolaty. Mmmmmmm, I couldn’t wait to dive in. I suggest you give the ice cream a good ten minutes to defrost a little ...

Tesco Finest Raspberry Ice Cream 16/10/2002

Mr.Whippy And His Frozen Balls.

Tesco Finest Raspberry Ice Cream Well there I was in Tesco thinking of how much of an ice cream snob I was being only eating good old Ben & Jerry’s and Haagen Daz. Tsk, tsk at me I thought. Why not give another brand a chance at making it into my ice cream hall of fame! Okay then, there I was head in freezer (not literally) having a good old rummage. I never buy soft scoop ice cream as I find this to be the pits and I never buy anything with the words “value” written on the tub as you know you’re going to get an inferior quality ice cream 9 times out of 10! So I’ve dragged myself away for the B&J’s and the Haagen Daz, I’ve ran past the cheap stuff and then I spot the “Tesco finest range”. At the time of purchase this was on offer, what better time to give a new treat a go than when on special off! The normal price is £2.59 for a 500ml tub so it’s easier on the pocket than the aforementioned treats but I got it for £1.99 so I felt rather smug with my little saving and didn’t mind throwing caution to the wind and giving it a go. I did feel a little unfaithful though, lol. Anyway there are several flavours available including, raspberry, vanilla and coffee. I’m sure they do a few more but this just depends on what’s in stock when you shop. I went for the raspberry, as I’m rather partial to them. The packaging is rather fetching too. A silver lid and label on a see through plastic tub. Like all the finest range, the colour silver is used to emphasize the fact that this is a bit posh and ...

Top 10 Foods 10/10/2002

Feeling Peckish..

Top 10 Foods Oh I do like something gorgeous to shove in my mouth now and then don’t you? I must admit to being a little bit fixated with regards to food. I must look in my fridge at least 20 plus times a day (like something gorgeous is going to suddenly materialise that wasn’t there before) and I’m even worse if I’m trying to watch the old waistband. I am always trying to think up new recipes to try and I’m always trying to resist the tempting foods that are calorific but without much luck! Anyhoo on with the review ;O) 10 ~ Chocolate. Yes, I love chocolate. Not any old chocolate though, oh nooooo. I like Cadbury chocolate. I can’t really say what it is about Cadbury confectionary that hits the spot, maybe it’s the creamy texture or maybe it’s the way they get the cocoa solid content just right for me. What ever it is I could eat a ton of the stuff. My favourite chocolate treat at the moment is the lovely Cadbury Flake. It’s sooooo versatile isn’t it? I add it to ice cream and various cakes and treats. I like to freeze them, this way they seem to last longer and elongate my chocolate experience. When I’ve made biscuits I like to melt a few and dip the biscuits in and leave them to cool. Then everyone in the house tries to scoff em all (but I always have a few hidden for when I fancy a nibble)!! I will eat other brands of chocolate to but I’m a bit fussy. I like Thornton’s chocolate (who doesn’t) but I prefer their white to milk chocolate, and I will eat Nestles milky bars ...
