TaylorMade Taylormade Golf R11 Driver 2011 05/08/2015

This is the club if you like long straight shots ...

TaylorMade Taylormade Golf R11 Driver 2011 After a long period of changing drivers on a regular basis I came across the Taylormade R11. As all golfers know when things aren't going quite as well as they should on the course we have a habit of blaming our tools rather than the swing lol Well that is my excuse anyway. I always find myself drawn towards Taylormade as I feel that they are a strong dependable make. I purchased the driver for around £340 from my golf club pro shop around a year and a half to two years ago. In the past I have often found that a regular shaft was slightly too flexible for my swing and after reading reviews and reports that the standard Taylormade shaft is very light and more flexible than other makes I decided upon a stiff shaft. It is a great job that I did as at times if my swing gets a bit quick that it is slightly too much give. From initial inspection I love the club, the white head at the time was beginning to become trendy as a lot of the pros were using this club and it felt great in my hands. The club has an impressive 440cc head size which looks and feels great. The larger head gives you the feel of instant confidence. Unlike other Taylormade drivers the R11 does not taper in on the back side of the head giving it a narrow look. The shaft on my club is a Fujikura Blue 60 gram shaft in stiff. The new Taylormade technology allows you to alter the angle of degree higher or lower. The driver is available in either 9 degree or 10.5 and can be altered by a degree higher or lower. ...

Grace Aloe Vera Drink 03/08/2015

Fantastic Tasting Healthy Alternative....

Grace Aloe Vera Drink As a keen footballer and highly active person I am always conscious about what I eat and drink. The conception is that most healthy food or drink is tasteless but the Grace Aloe Vera Drink is definitely the exception. I first tasted this drink on a foreign Holiday last year and the taste is fantastic. I know get it every now and again from Amazon for £12.00 for a pack of 12 500ml bottles. I feel that this is great value as it works out around £0.20 / 100ml. I would recommend buying in case quantities as it will give the biggest savings. The case dimensions are 24 x 21 x 18.5cm. Depending on your total basket your also have the possibility for free delivery which is even bigger value. The Grace Aloe Vera Drink has a number of fantastic benefits and is suitable for vegetarians, vegans, dairy free, suitable for coeliac's and is also lactose free. Hotpoint FZFM171P 15/06/2015

Frost Free Spacious Freezer

Hotpoint FZFM171P One of the first items I purchased for my new home was a freezer. The existing freezer that was left was knackered and had an awful stench. I purchased the freezer from my local Argos for £339.99. I have had the freezer now for around 2 years and I has been a fantastic investment and great value for money. Due to the space I had left in my kitchen I decided to go for a tall freezer as I like to prep meals and could do with the extra space. The freezer measures approx. 177cm x 61cm x 67cm. The freezer is 61cm wide and holds approx. 174 litres. Apart from the size of the freezer the other feature that attracted me to it was the energy efficiency rating. Running a tall freezer can be very expensive. The annual cost to run this freezer is approx. £48 and has an A+ EU energy label. The freezer itself is shiny white which goes well in a contemporary setting. The front has a plastic coating that is easily cleaned and rubbed down which is always a bonus. The freezer itself has 7 drawers or compartments with lots of storage. A major feature is that it is frost free which does not allow the insides to freeze up or the drawers to stick. My old freezer suffered a lot from a frost build up (Possibly caused by a poor seal and gasket on the door) so the frost free sealant is fantastic on this particular model. The inner drawers can all be removed without any hassle and the temperature can be controlled by an accurate thermostat. The freezer also boasts an impressive option for ...

Tema Home Prairie Coffee Table 26/05/2015

Perfect Focal Point For Any Home Or Living Room.

Tema Home Prairie Coffee Table I recently purchased this coffee table for my living room in my local Ikea store. I purchased the table for £69.99 and it came in typical flat pack Ikea style. The box size was approx. 75cm x 75 cm which fitted easily enough into the back of the car with the seats down. I felt that table was very well priced as it did not have to be delivered and was straight forward to assemble. I had read reports about other Ikea goods that arrived without instruction or missing screws and other vital installation instructions so I was very dubious before purchasing the table. However everything that was due to come with the table was in the packaging and the instructions were very straight forward to install and assemble. The table has a lovely walnut veneer with chrome legs and feet. It is very modern and the chunky walnut table goes very well with my other furniture in the room so I am very pleased. The tables when assembled measures 75 cam x 75cm x 35cm. With a honeycomb panel and metal construction the table is very secure with no wobbles and sits very straight. There is nothing worse that a table that will not sit evenly on all four legs. I feel that the base of the table is sturdy and secure which gives it a very even balance especially on my wooden floor. The legs are approx 2cm thick so they are not overly bulky. The table itself is made and designed on Portugal. The walnut veneered surface is finished to perfection and as yet it hasn't got any marks and would be used every ...

Silentnight Miracoil Travis Microquilt Mattress 21/05/2015

Great back support and very comfortable mattress

Silentnight Miracoil Travis Microquilt Mattress I recently purchased a Silentnight Miracoil Travis Mattress from my local dreams store for £129.99. I found this to be at the higher end of the scale in terms of pricing for a single mattress, however for something that you will use every night I feel that it is money well spent. I did find the price slightly expensive but a mattress is definitely something that I don't mind spending money on because it is an essential part of every day life and I hope to have it for the next five to ten years. When I was purchasing the mattress I was unsure what defined a good mattress other than how it felt. With a little bit of research and help from the local sales advisor I decided on the Silent night miracoil as it felt the most comfortable. The idea behind the miracoil technology is that it features a micro quilted top for extra comfort, helping to ensure that you have a peaceful and comfortable nights sleep. The unique microcoil spring mattress provides the right support and pressure relief. The pressure relief is evenly distributed throughout the mattress so that even at the hips where the body weight is at its maximum it offers support. The mattress I selected has a medium firmness which also features additional firm orthopaedic fillings for extra back support. I would however still recommend that you rotate the mattress frequently as I noticed after the first month of so that I could begin to feel the spring beneath me so by rotating the mattress you will prolong the life span ...

Samsung SSG-5100GB 19/05/2015

Comfortable glasses with minor connection issues.

Samsung SSG-5100GB When I purchased my Samsung 3D TV I only received two pairs of 3d glasses. With a family of 4 however we needed to purchase a further two sets of glasses. After spending the money on the tv we were worried about the price of a further two 3d glasses. Thankfully we were able to go back to our local currys where we purchased the tv and had to pay £11.99 for each set. Given the price of a lot of other 3d glasses this was a fantastic bargain. From reading other reviews on these glasses they are also compatible with other tv manufacturers which is even better value for money. The glasses are black in colour with 3d tinted lenses. The support and legs of the glasses are the one length and very flexible which I found to be very comfortable as they fit any sixe of head with digging into your temple and causing headaches. The SSG-5100GB are completely flexible and position nicely before the eyes without any gaps giving you fantastic full 3d vision. When fully charged the glasses pair automatically with the click of one button which again is completely easy to use and simple to operate. They have the same fantastic 3D image as the original glasses that came with the tv do and you would not notice any difference so there is no fighting for a particular set of glasses. For those of you who wear glasses the 3d glasses fit comfortably over normal spectacles without any major discomfort. The only issue is that the glasses themselves run on one CR-2025 battery which has a life span of ...

Hotpoint WMXTF842G 18/05/2015

Great Value For Money

Hotpoint WMXTF842G I purchased the Hotpoint WNXTF842G around 6 months ago when I moved into my new house. I was completely lost as to what type of washing machine to buy and I had no idea about what was a good or bad price. With a lot of online research and help from my partner we decided to go for the Hotpoint brand as it was one of the only brands that we were familiar with. We purchased the machine from our local Currys for £280 which seemed to be about middle of the range in terms of price. The model is a mix of dark and light grey, however it is plumbed in the garage so the colour scheme was not an issue as it is hidden, however it is a nice looking model and a colour scheme. The spec of this particular model is very good, especially considering the price. It boats a 1400 RPM Spin Speed. A++ energy rating, 8kg wash load. The dimensions of the machine are as follows H85cm x W59.5cm x D60.5cm. The Hotpoint WMXTF842G comes with a one years manufacturer warranty, but if you are offered a further warranty package from the retailer I would recommend going for that as one year for a washing machine is not enough considering you could be using it on a regular basis for a number of years. One of the best features for me was the fact that it is extremely easy to use and very straightforward. The standard cycle is approx. 3 hours which is possibly a bit longer that it should be but it also has a special washing functions which is approx. half the time. You can also change the temperature without ...

Clinique Skin Supplies For Men: Age Defense Hydrator For Eyes 13/05/2015

Visably healthier looking skin.

Clinique Skin Supplies For Men: Age Defense Hydrator For Eyes As a keen golfer and an all round active person I find that an eye cream is very important for preventing wrinkles in the future. As all golfers will know (especially those from Ireland) you face takes the brunt of the weather. Between battling heavy winds to the odd sunny day you find yourself constantly squinting to see your shot. This all will take its toll over time on your skin especially around the eyes. As a 26 year old I have only been thinking about my future skin condition of the last year or so. I have generally stuck by the Clinique brand especially the face moisturiser so I decided to look into an eye cream as it is a strong brand with a history of great products. I came across the age defense hydrator for eyes in boots which costs about £26. If you look out for complete sets you may find you can get it a bit cheaper but the standard price is around £26 for a 15ml tube. Unfortunately this is possibly the only downside as it is rather expensive compared to other brands but the benefit is that the Clinique defense hydrator does exactly what it says on the box and has an immediate impact. As the winner of a CEW beauty insider award this is a comprehensive hydrating eye cream which is fast absorbing and can remove the look of dark circles or puffiness around the eyes. Constant use will eventually correct fine lines around the eyes. The cream itself is quite thick so should be applied sparingly to avoid leaving a greasy residue. The cream itself has a dark yellow ...

Morphy Richards 42236 01/05/2015

Great Iron when you can get it working correctly

Morphy Richards 42236 I have the Morphy Richards 42236 for approx. 1 and a half years. I purchased the iron online from Amazon for £109.99. I originally had a a standard Morphy Richards but was advised to replace it for a steam iron. My parents had a similar model which that raved about and ironed the clothes quickly and neatly. At the time I felt it was an expensive purchase given that you could get other makes and models for around £70 and more basic ones for £50. However I decided to take a punt on this model as I was familiar with the Morphy Richard's brand so decided to have a shot in the dark. Unfortunately I have had nothing but heatbreak with this iron, however on the rare occasion where I could get it working it did do a great job. The manufacturing flaws outweigh the performance which is a shame. I wish at the time I had taken more care reading through customer reviews as it appears that I am not the only one who has had difficulty. The 42236 boats ultimate steam for easy wrinkle removal. With a 180g instant steam and 4.5 bar pressure for even the toughest of fabrics. The iron has a large 1.5 litre removable tank for interruption free ironing. It is easy to see from the product description and the price why so many people have purchased this model. The model has a ceramic soleplate and a plum and black appearance. My first issue with the 42236 was one Sunday afternoon I had been ironing for a few hours (the weekly) iron the steam unit stopped working and I could not get an power to ...

Tesco Class 1 Gala Apples 29/04/2015

Bursting with Juice and flavour

Tesco Class 1 Gala Apples Fresh fruit would be a large percentage of my daily diet and would often find myself grabbing for an apple rather than a chocolate bar if I was feeling hungry or peckish. My local Tescos would be the best stockists of fresh fruit that is available to me that's why I have decided to review the Tesco Class 1 Gala Apples. The apples can be bought loose or in packs of four or six. It is approximately £1.03 per kilo which is very cheap in comparison to other supermarkets. The current offer is five Class 1 Red Gala apples 670g for 69p. At this price it is worth buying more than one packet as they generally last up to two weeks before the turn bad or rot. As a fruit eater it is important that the fruit is fresh in order to prolong its life span. I find that on the odd occasion where I do not eat all the apples they will last around 2 weeks before going bad. This is ideal for a large family where it is hard to gather a weekly shop around sell by and use by dates. I find that buying them singularly enables you to discard the odd rogue apple with bruises or cuts that you can often find in packs. A gala apple is round in shape and genuinely comes in a red striped colour over a yellow background. I often find that the riper the apple the more red the colouring. In terms of taste the gala apple has a distinctive crisp crunch that is bursting with flavour. The skin is generally tight and smooth unlike other varieties off apple that are soft and wrinkly. The skin has a distinctive ...

Batchelors Super Noodles Chicken Flavour 03/04/2015

My staple University Diet

Batchelors Super Noodles Chicken Flavour I recently had a pack of chicken flavour super noodles as a quick snack which brought me back to my time at university. During my time at university especially around exam time super noodles were my best friend as they were quick, cheap and cheerful. As a student I was not particularly good at cooking anything that could not be cooked in a microwave so the super noodles were fantastic for filling that void. The packaging is instantly recognisable with a dark blue colouring and the super noodle brand placed across the front of the packaging. There is also a picture of a fork with a delicious photo of the noodles. On the rear of the packaging there are basic cooking instructions and ingredients. Originally what attracted me to these noodles was the price. They are approx. 72p for a 200g pack of noodled which is I have to admit is very filling. You tend to find other products like the super noodles dry up and by the time you sit down to enjoy them there is nothing worth eating. The are extremely handy for a quick snack or a meal. One of my favourite student meals was to have a packet of super noodles with a few rounds of bread in order to make sandwich. This might not be everybody's cup of tea but I found it delicious and very filling, making it the ideal student meal. As I have previously stated the noodles are very straight forward to cook. To begin boil the kettle then place the noodles inside a microwaveable bowl without adding the sachet of flavouring. In order to ...

Sun Mountain Swift X Stand 2010 01/04/2015

Fantastic summer golf bag

Sun Mountain Swift X Stand 2010 When it gets into the summer months and the weather begins to lift the last thing that you want to do is lumber about a heavy cart bag. This is why there is nothing better than the freedom of a carry bag for the short 3 months of the year when the sun is shinning. Being from Ireland unfortunately I do not get to see the sun all that often. I purchased this bag last year for around £80. My main reasoning behind the carry bag was that I could leave it in the boot of the car and every chance I could get I would nip to the club to practice. As they say practice makes perfect but it seems a long process for me but anyway. I did my usual internet research before going into my local golf stores. I had originally decided on the Taylor-made carry bag as it got the most positive response from other reviews that I had read. When I got to my Local Nevada Bobs store I was advised by the sales advisor to have a look at the sun mountain range. I had never come across the brand so was a little dubious at the start as I though the sales advisor was pushing me towards a sale of his choice and not mine. How wrong could I have been, this bag has been fantastic. On first appearances the bag looks very stylish and has a sturdy feel and design. The feet on the stands are a lot wider than any of the other bags that I had seen which gave it that extra sturdy feel. The bag is advertised as totally waterproof and you can see the extra gasket and seals along the zips. I can confirm that the bag is ...

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 31/03/2015

Inconsistant and tempremental driver

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast I was given this driver by my father last year as I was experimenting with different drivers to replace my existing titleist. As any golfer would know the driver is probably the most experimented club in the bag as we are always looking at different ways to hit the ball further. After watching your favourite pros playing on tv we will try anything to hit the ball that further few yards. The club was originally purchased for £225 in 2010, however in order to get the matching Taylor made head cover it was an extra £20. I am not sure if this is standard procedure but when you are spending good money on a golf club you would expect the head cover. On first appearances I was not impressed with the shape of the head. In order to feel that you are going to hit the ball further and straighter you need to feel confidant about the feel of the club. The head of the club has a tailing to the rear and with the extra length on the shaft as standard with Taylor made the head looks very small and awkward. I found that the shaft was very whippy and lifeless and as I have an energetic fast paced swing only one in 10 went straight with the extra distance as promised. I was unimpressed with the fact that the club offered extra distance as in reality it magnified bad shots and if you have a fade or draw it was very difficult to control. I feel that possibly this would be a better club for someone with a slow swing or and elderly golfer. I feel that its advantages would be more beneficial and ...

Titleist Vokey Oil Can Wedge 30/03/2015

This club will be sure to take shots off your game.

Titleist Vokey Oil Can Wedge I have had my Titleist Vokey 56 degree Oil Can lob wedge for a number of years now and at this stage I can not ever imagine changing it. At the time it cost around £56 which I feel is a very good price for Vokey wedge. In my personal opinion if you have a good lob wedge or putter and you can build up a confidence then unless its a must you should never change them. As any golfer knows the short game is the most vital part and the one that will bring score on the board. I have become confident with this club so unless its a must it will be the first club in my bag. I had a standard Vokey wedge that my father passed down to me which I found at times inconsistent. I tried a number of different wedges but found myself leaning towards a vokey wedge again and ended up choosing the Oil can wedge. Instantly I feel in love with the club. The grip and position of the club face on the ground gave me immediate confidence. The feel of a club at starting position is vital a number of the wedges that I toyed with felt very edgy at starting position so gave me very little confidence. The feel of the club combined with the weight are the real strong advantages between this club and any other lob wedge. The club boasts a new groove design and profile improvements. I believe that this club is what brought me into single figures. It took an immediate two shots off my game, anything from 50 yards I felt confidant. I found that I was able to stop the ball a lot quicker and the control and spin ...

MyProtein Impact Whey Protein 27/03/2015

The only Whey to go

MyProtein Impact Whey Protein I recently reviewed my Myprotein shaker, with regular mention to the My Protein Whey Protein that I use therefore its only fitting that I review the Protein powder aswell. I discovered the My protein website just over a year ago and I have never looked back since. I play a number of sports and a regular gym goer, therefore I have tried a variety of proteins with varying brands and price ranges. I had been advised a number of years ago to stick with a brand Pharma PHD which is very costly, but after trying the my protein brand I will never look back. A standard 1kg chocolate Impact whey protein costs approx. £18 and comes in a variety of flavours. It is important to note that more exotic flavours may cost a little more. I tend to stick with the banana or chocolate as they taste the best. Standard delivery for orders under £50 is around £1.99 which is very reasonable and takes about 3 - 5 days. You can pay an extra £4.95 for faster delivery. If you go for the larger 5kg bag at £47 it works out at 9p per gram, which is much more superior than competitors. The packaging is very basic but very well sealed. The band along the top of the package can be re sealed after use which is fantastic for storing away in your gym bag or locker. The Impact Whey protein also comes complete with scoop aswell (My house is now coming down with scoops ). There are basic instructions on recommended use, calorie content and ingredients on the packaging. The recommended use is very good depending on ...
