Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Blackcurrant Sachets 22/10/2017

that time of year again.....

Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Blackcurrant Sachets It's getting to that time of year again the colder weather comes which means a lot more viruses are going around including the cold and the flu. It's already struck my house my sons had a terrible cold and a chesty cough, which means with my weak immune system I now have It. so I find myself reaching for my favorite cold remedies from the cupboard. My favorite has to be lemsip. Lemsip is served as sachets you add hot water to, to make a nice warm drink. It includes paracetamol which relieves headache, sore throat, fever, body aches and pains. It also includes phenylephrine hydrochloride which I've just learned off reading the box relieves a blocked nose. lempsip Is made for adults and children over 12. The stated dose is 1 sachet every 4-6 hours you shouldn't have more than 4 sachets in 24 hours though. The product Its self is packaged in a green and red box that definitely stands out on the shelf you have 10 sachets In a box, the pricing varies from £3-5 depending on where you shop which I think Is a fair price for what you get. The flavor I chose was blackcurrant as I find when its warmed up it's rather comforting. my opinion my opinion of lemsip Is It works well for what its designed for It doesn't taste too bad and always soothes my sore throat and calms my fever If I have one. The only downside is the effects don't last for long maybes half hour max then you feel like you want another one. I'd personally reccomend this to anyone with a cold its very comforting and does ...

Kids Stuff Crazy Soap 31/05/2017

crazy bath times

Kids Stuff Crazy Soap I recently came across this product while shopping in my local Tesco's. It stood out as the bottle was vibrant and eye catching it was also on offer for £1. I bought it as my son has sensory issues and really struggles with bath time so I thought this might make bath time more fun and easier for him to handle. It's marketed as crazy foaming soap It says on the bottle all you have to do is squirt shape and bounce. the bottle reminds me of a hair styling product as It's the same shape. The soap is squirted out and is white and has the same consistency as mousse white light and fluffy, It doesn't really have a smell it's quite bland really. I was a little dissapointed as I followed the instructions yet I found i couldn't actually mold the soap into anything Though my son did have fun trying and without realizing it he was washing himself so i suppose it served it's purpose. even though my son had fun with this and would use it again i'm not sure I'd use it again. It did leave my sons skin very soft but I just don't think It did what It says on the tin lol. I got my soap on offer for £1 but prices can range from £1-£2 so I guess It's reasonably priced. ...

Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo 29/05/2017

perfect scalp therapy....

Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo I bought this shampoo as a recommendation from a friend. I've always suffered from problems with my scalp and psoriasis to the point of it being unbearable and embarrassing T gel is a therapeutic shampoo that works on the scalp rather than the hair, it treats the scalp and helps with irritation where a flaky scalp may occur. my first thoughts about the shampoo was the packaging was quite basic and almost medical looking but suppose i cant expect too much as it medicinal. the shampoo can be quite pricey with prices ranging from £3.50-6.00.However after using the shampoo i can say its definitely worth it and because the shampoo is quite concentrated you only need to use a tiny bit each time you use your hair. The shampoo itself is a browny/greeny colour and be warned its quite strong smelling that some may not like.I use it on my hair every other day and within a week i could really see the distance and it leaves your hair silky soft so i was pleasantly suprised. It's for the scalp rather than the hair so when doing my hair I made sure i thoroughly massaged it into my scalp. I'd definately recommend people who have scalp problems to give this a go you may be surprised how good it is. my only issue is the price as its costly however it works so I guess it's worth it the only down fall i think is the strong smell but i guess if it works you can put up with it and get used to it.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal 10/05/2017

feeling fresh

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal Feeling under the weather and a bit run down lately my skin has been a mess, so I stopped in at my local Tesco's to see what they had. I noticed the freeman face mask as it came in a green sachet and stood out. The one I chose was the Avocado and Oatmeal one. It's supposed to cleanse and exfoliate your skin cleaning out your pores and leaving your skin clean and soft. You can buy the mask in tubes or sachets I opted for the sachet option with it being cheaper at £1.19.Upon opening the sachet i struggled to see what the clay smelled like as it has a very soft minty fresh smell It's very subtle but that's what I got. I applied the mask quite liberally to my face and neck and their was still a tiny bit left so there's more than plenty in a sachet. within 10 mins it had fully hardened on my face and was starting to tingle and irritate my sin so i washed it off gently in Luke warm water. This is the bit I didn't enjoy I found It took a while and was hard work to get it completely off my face. After drying my face I did find my face was a lot more softer than before I applied it my face felt a lot fresher too. Id recommend this to anyone wanting a quick boost to their skin when their feeling a bit run down. I would have gave it a higher rating but I just found it a lot of effort to get off my face compared to other face masks I've used in the past. the freeman does have a range of a few other mass though that I'd be interested in trying out some time. ...

10 Things I Hate About You (DVD) 15/04/2017

i hate it when you lie

10 Things I Hate About You (DVD) This film was released in 1999 and It's still one of my favorite films of all time. It's an adaption of Shakespeare's play the taming of the shrew which I've never read but after seeing this film I'd be tempted to check the play out. This has to be the ultimate chick flick. It's a story of boy meets girl with all the complications in the middle and all the typical teen melodrama. It's a story about a girl called Kat who's not interested in guys and hates being stereo typed, shes into art and music. all of a sudden a guy takes an interest in her and she finds it hard to trust him and no wonder as hes being paid to take her out. the guy who's paying him is after kat's younger sister and can only date her if Kat dates. needless to say the secret is soon revealed. I thought this film was really really good however can be very predictable in places. i thought heath ledger was amazing in his role and loved the scene in the film where he sings to Kat on the football pitch i thought it was very sweet. I think this is one of the best films I've seen Julia Stiles in and thought she really out shone in her role.I love this film as the ultimate teen chick flick with all the love and teenage angst in it. It's quite dated now but I also love the sound track of the film its fits in really well with the genre and the times. who's in it? HEATH LEDGER (a knight's tale, ned kelly)your typical heart throb who went on to do other great roles such as the joker in batman until his untimely sad ...

Flymo Easimo Rotary Mower 10/04/2017

omg not flatpack items

Flymo Easimo Rotary Mower This Isn't my usual type of review but after having great difficulty trying to cut my grass today I just had I thought I'd review it. I bought my flymo easimo off the catalog fashionworld online. The main reason I picked this one was because it had wheels which my old on didn't and I struggled to do my garden myself since being diagnosed with MS. This Lawn mower stood out as it was £69.99 which I thought was a reasonable price but for an extra £10 i could get a strimmer included with it so it seemed like a bargain.I picked this one as it's electric so just plug it in and its ready to go.It includes wire clips so you won't be tripping over the wire all this time as the lead on this is quite long. Now this is where the difficulty comes in, I had a mild panic attack when it arrived in a small box and I realized I'd have to partly build it.when opening the box all the parts where tightly packed and the strimmer was in the same box so first I separated the pieces as it was just the mower I wanted to use today.. I realized quickly it was just the handle bar and the grass box i have to attach to it, relief should of washed over me but when I looked at all the different pieces and the really basic and useless instructions which had some really rubbish pictures and a tiny bit writing I panicked again. After an hour of not getting anywhere with building it i had to phone my dad to rescue me thank god for parents. my dad arrived and we had it sorted in 10 minutes. After taking my mower ...

The Art of Happiness - Dalai Lama, Howard Cutler 08/04/2017

inspirational read

The Art of Happiness - Dalai Lama, Howard Cutler This isn't the kind of book Id normally read but I noticed it when i was shopping in my local book shop. The art of happiness is a booked based on the Dalai lama, its written by a psychatrist who spoke with the Dalai Lama. The book provides a lot of quotes from the Dalai lama a lot of which i found very inspiring and insightful into the life he lives. Before reading the book I'd heard of the Dalai Lama but didn't know a lot about him after reading the book I feel like i know him a lot better. The book helps you understand his life and teachings a lot better. His way of thinking and the way he lives his life is inspiring.the concept of this book is happiness is determined more by ones state of mind. its a really uplifting book that'll get you thinking. There's 15 chapters which are all aptly named for what they contain. my favourite quote of the book is " love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries, without them we cannot survive" which after all the scary stuff going on in the world couldn't be a more true quote. It's interesting to read cutlers inner thoughts as well as he prepares for each session with the Dalai Lama and how he sees the world and how he challenges Dalai on it. I think it would be so interesting to meet the Dalai Lama because after reading this book i can see why he might be portrayed as the symbol of peace and is truly inspirational to people all over the world. I'd reccomend it to anyone who likes a good book or is curious about him the book has ...

Brita Fill & Go Water Filter Bottle 01/03/2017

saves on buying bottles of water

Brita Fill & Go Water Filter Bottle After going on my recent health kick I'm always looking out for new ideas to help keep me on track. while browsing the aisle's of my local Tesco's I came across the Brita fill & go water bottle. The technology behind it is pretty simple the water bottle includes carbon filtration making your water healthier with a lot less chemicals in it and personally i think it tastes better and fresher. The packaging is quite plan but the white and blue did make it stand out and feels fresh and smart. The bottle is quite big and holds 600 ml of water. The bottle is clear and the lids come in a range of colour's mine is blue. It has a blue lid that clips shut and holds the filter. The instructions weren't very clear but i soon figured out where the filter goes just make sure you put it in the right way or you'll have a massive leak like I did when I first tried it. The filter lasts about 30 days and you can pick the refills up in most stores that sell Brita products. I paid £12 for my bottle but I've looked around and some places you can pick them up for under £10 i love my bottle now I use mine daily so it definitely gets used. It's saved me loads of money on all the bottles of water I was always buying so good in the long run. I'd reccomend it to anyone on a health kick or who just wants to start drinking more water. ...

Nintendo Wii U 23/02/2017

best kids console so far.....

Nintendo Wii U I'm going to start this review by saying I'm not the best with technology so bear with me I'll write this review to the best of my ability. I first came across the wii U in December 2015 I was struggling to think of what to get my 3 year old son for his main Christmas present. being a child I thought this would be the perfect present for him as children these days love technology. I managed to pick the wii U up for £320 which seems expensive but it also came with a mario kart game and wii u party games so seemed like a good deal.my sons eyes lit up on Christmas morning when he seen it. Now whats in the box it came with the wii u console, a sensor bar and the game pad. the design is quite simple it looks very sleek in black. The sensor is there so if you position it in front of your t,v on certain games if you have the standard wii remote it can pic up your movements its good for games like just dance. The game pad is the bit that I love its a mini console the same size as a gameboy with quite a large screen on it you can use this as your controller. Its quite clever though because the game plays on your t.v as well as on the mini screen so you can chose which one you prefer to look at it also comes in handy as you can also play games directly through the game pad so parents can keep control of their t.v's lol. the game pad also has a few apps on my son loves hes just discovered youtube and he can also watch netflix through it. The set up of the console is really easy I had ...

Hasbro Furby Star Wars Furbacca 09/02/2017

just like a gremlin

Hasbro Furby Star Wars Furbacca This toy was bought as my four year olds son main Christmas present this year. He went on for weeks saying he wanted a furby and when I looked them up I found this furbacca the star wars themed furby. My first impression of this little creature was it reminded me of a gremlin from the film gremlins, It's small enough to sit on an adult sized hand its very furry and soft and it's eyes light up and move as well as it's mouth. my son absolutely loves this toy it was very easy to set up just needing batteries, It comes with instructions which if I'm honest I didn't find that helpful however with a little time playing with the furby it's easy to figure out how to play with him. There's lots of activities you can do with your furby including feeding it, talking to it and lots of different ways to play with him. If you have a smart phone or a tablet you can also download the app to use to play games with it, that's the feature my son loves the most. at the end of the day when hes been fed and watered and played with enough you can put him to bed there's a light sensor above his eyes so he just needs a dark place to go to sleep and turn off, We just use his original box if you put him in that within a few minutes all will be silent and he'll be asleep. The only drawback of this furry little thing I personally find is when hes awake he cant talk non stop and make loads of noises making him quite noisy but my son seems to love him. The price varies where you get him from I bought ...

Fitbit Charge HR 24/08/2016

upgraded my fitbit

Fitbit Charge HR Well after the success of having my other fitbit, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my fitbit from the flex to the charge to continue with my new healthy lifestyle. A fitbit is an activity tracker that records your daily activities like how many steps you've taken and how many calories you've burned. It's basically a upgraded version of a pedometer you wear it like a watch so it also looks quite stylish the one I've got is purple and to anyone else looking they'd just think it was a digital watch. The features on this fitbit are a lot better than the flex these include:- steps taken: it still has steps taken I've got my goal set to 8000 a day though the heart association foundation recommends 10000 a day but with my MS I thought this was a suitable goal for me. calories burned: it still tracks your calories burned I have mine set to 2300 a day as I know 3500 is the equivalent to losing 1lb. floors : it tracks how many floors you go up a day so every time you go up stairs it tracks it mines set to 10 a day as that's quite easy to achieve. exercise: you can track your exercise if you type it in manually. water: you can manually type in how many glasses of water you drink a day if you use the app. heart rate: this is the one I find most useful it tracks your heart rate so it tells you how many beats per minute it registers so you know when your body is in fat burning mode. My bpm is normally 60bpm but when it goes into 90bpm that's when I go into fat burning ...

Managing Multiple Sclerosis Naturally - Judy Graham 19/08/2016

dealing with MS

Managing Multiple Sclerosis Naturally - Judy Graham I first came across this book 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with MS. I was feeling pretty lost and thought I had been given a death sentence, when some one who also had MS recommended this book to me. I managed to track down the book pretty easily on amazon, thank god for online shopping. I bought the book in paperback and when It arrived It appeared pretty average with no fancy book cover but pretty and natural. The book consists of 372 pages and is easily laid out in 4 parts and 21 chapters. the 4 sections group together to form advice in an easy to follow format with the 4 sections consisting of:- Understanding MS, nutrition for MS,physical and complimentary therapies and living a healthy life. The first section of the book explains what MS is and how it affects the body. I really liked this section as when people ask me what MS is I never know how to explain it to people and this book explains it pretty well.It also has a chapter on possible causes of MS which I found an interesting read. The second section is about nutrition and MS and explains the best diets to be on when you have MS and why your diet is important I found this section useful and made a few tweaks to my diet after reading it. The third section on physical complimentary therapies explains why exercise is important and MS. It explains good exercises to do and why their important, it explains how the different exercises affect your body and your hormones. The forth and final section on living a ...

The Good Dinosaur (DVD) 03/04/2016

the dinosaur lacking something.....

The Good Dinosaur (DVD) This review is purely about the film and not the DVD as i still waiting for my DVD to arrive after downloading it off the sky store. I recently got this film as my son was poorly so we decided to have a DVD day and he chose it himself off the sky store. It's a disney pixar film about a dinosaur who has to find his way home and conquer his fears along the way. I've got to say i didn't really enjoy this film now I know It's a film for children but i normally enjoy watching disney films. I found the film just seemed to be lacking something in parts I just found the story quite boring and slow, it didn't really keep my attention are my son's in parts of it. It's an animated film so i thought the animations were great and some of the characters and animals in the film were quite cute an unique. i especially loved the cave toddler that Arlo the main dinosaur makes friends with on his adventure. I think the story behind the film is a good one for teaching children about conquering your fears and about family values but i think the message gets a bit lost in the film. The positive of this film was my son seemed to enjoy it and he really like the dinosaurs he just didn't get the story of the film. over all i don't think I'll be recommending this film to my family and friends as there's other disney films I've enjoyed a lot more and i was really disapointed by it. ...

kiddicare.com 03/04/2016

soo convenient for me right now

kiddicare.com Being heavily pregnant and still need things for my baby I've took to online shopping recently and have found this site the best so far. Kiddiecare.com is a site that sells anything baby related. the site is very easily laid out so you can navigate around it quite easy. all the different products are into set categories so you can easily find what your looking for. I've ordered a few times of this site and found some pretty cool products in my opinion. Ive also found this site reasonably priced it definately agrees with my budget. When ordering off this site Ive found it very easy to do so the format is very easy i used my credit card then it gives you the choice of delivery method paying more means you receive it a lot quicker all though I've always went with the standard delivery and find it very quick and easy. Kiddiecare also has regular sales and a clearance section on their website which I've found great as babies definitely don't come cheap so its great if your shopping on a budget. I will definitely continue to order off them in the future. 3 years later i still use this site regulary. thank you for reading my review

envirofone.com 01/04/2016

recycle your old phone for cash

envirofone.com Having used this company a few times now I thought I'd write up my experiences of using them. It's a company where you can recycle your old phones and they pay you for them. The website is really easy to use you search for the phone you want rid of and tell them what network your on. They then give you an offer for how much they'll give you for the phone, if you accept you need to sign up for an account and fill out your personal details. They send you out packaging and all you have to do is put your old phone in the envelope take it to the post office and send it recorded special delivery. Once they receive the phone they'll test it to make sure its still working this normally takes about 48 hours if their happy with the condition of the phone they'll send you an email with an amount of money their offering you all you have to do is pick how you'd like to be paid and you normally get the money two weeks later.you can be paid via cheque direct into your bank account or choose an argos voucher. Sometimes if they dont feel your phone is in perfect condition they may offer you a lower amount for it for example they offered me £85 for my last phone but after testing and finding scratches on it they offered me £72 for it but i still accepted the offer as it was reasonable. the only slight drawback of it is they do everything quickly so you have to send them the phone within 10 days or they might lower the amount they email you to remind you though.they sometimes even accept ...
