A few (hopefully) helpful hints on this review writing lark
Advantages: Seems to work for me Disadvantages: Might not for you
...to share my opinion of how I try to write ‘good’ reviews. The first thing I do is make sure that I’ve really had experience of using whatever it is that I’m going to review. I recently got a new mobile phone, but I refused to even put finger to keyboard until I’d used it for over a month. I don’t think a day or even a week is long enough to have found any niggles in a product like this, in fact the longer you’ve owned and used something like a phone, ... ...is listed, it doesn’t matter how good a review is, if it’s in the wrong place then it’s simply not useful and a close match isn’t good enough, if a review of an off-line shop is placed in the on-line category then it’s only going to cover part of the topic and hold information and opinion on something other than it should. It’s fairly easy to propose a new product and it’s only taking about a week for those I’ve proposed to appear on the site which ...

Comment away!
Advantages: See text. Disadvantages: See text.
...has only recently worked out how to do the all new Ciao), I have always been on the understanding that you leave a comment for a person that is in some constructive. It may be that it is a new member, who is'nt aware possibly yet of how better to write a review - therefore, as best as we can we give them advice on how to improve in order to get higher ratings. But my main bug bear is that of people who pick up on small things, and in particular to ... ...Therefore, I would just like to point out to all members to be as constructive as you can before making any judgements - after all, if we were verbally just like to another person then we would all be done. So, be careful how you put your across your comments. ...

My Friends on Ciao!
Advantages: Great way of reading people you trust Disadvantages: Some people don't know how it works
...trust the most. How to use circle of trust?
If you have found a person you would like to trust simply go to their profile and click on 'add (Name) to my Circle of Trust', and they will be instantly added. To see who is in your COT go to the 'Buddies' section on your home page, all your COT will be there in date order. This means you can easily keep unto date with their reviews by clicking on the profiles. You will have one list of people that you ... ...How to enter my circle:
When I first started here on Ciao, 3 years ago now! How time flies, I wasn't really aware about the proper use of the COT and I went around trusting everyone and asking them to trust me, I soon realised that this was not the way Ciao worked. Now a days I trust people who read and rate my reviews often and leave good advice, people who write great reviews them selves and put a lot of time and energy into what they write. I ...

Ciao - Advice to Help You Get Started
Advantages: hopefully it will give you a good idea about site etiquette Disadvantages: you don't have to take advice given here or anywhere else on the site or do you?
...consumers come here to get advice on products such as cameras, TVs, mobile phones, laptops that they want to buy, books they might want to read, films they want to see, countries they want to visit, restaurants they might want to eat at, etc. The more people that come to the site, the more they will click on adverts and banners on the site, the more revenue is generated for the company and the better it is all for all who write here. The more coherently ... ...I consider to be useful advice in a review, others might not want to see all that info - you should really expect to see a range of different ratings on reviews as what's important and helpful to one person might be completely irrelevant to another. I would also add here that just because you find a review exceptionally well written, don’t assume others should find it the same. It might be exceptional to you but just VH or even H to others. There ...

CIAO-SPEAK: What The Jargon REALLY Means...
Advantages: Deep, intrinsic, meaningful wisdom, cosmic consciousness and understanding. Disadvantages: Forgetting to revert speech when interacting with off-liners and Ciao-tsiders
..."Connotes" ~~~
Recently, Ciao member, Kukana posted a comprehensive listing of Ciao terms and her explanations for them. As I was reading it, it occurred to me that words (here, "Ciao terms") have both a connotative and a denotative meaning. • DENOTATIVE MEANING --The denotative meaning, roughly stated, refers to a word's literal definition; the objective, "vocabulary exam" translation of the word. • CONNOTATIVE MEANING --The connotative meaning ... ...any additional list of literally-translated Ciao terms I might provide, would likely prove to be superfluous. Since, as of my reading of Kukana's list, a list of connotatively-defined Ciao Terms had yet to be created, I began to wonder what connotative or "de facto" definition I might provide each Ciao term Kukana listed, just in case I ever decided to create my own consumerly-helpful list of Ciao Terms. Well, guess what? ...Yep. Here it is; my list, ...
