Advantages: Time saving. Disadvantages: Attracts negative rates, difficult to cover all the aspects with limited words
I am quite new to Ciao. After joining the site I started loitering around as I was totally new to the site. After an hour or so, I finished most of the essentials regarding the site from Terms of services, about Ciao and its products. After a glimpse of the pages my eyes started searching for products and finally stopped at a Nokia Phone image. Actually that was a review on that particular product. I saw a tag at the bottom with a box to tick reading ... ...the box and a space pop up to jot down my comment or experience. I was not aware at that moment that I was actually writing a review, rather a quick review.

After a glimpse of the pages my eyes started searching for products and finally stopped at a Nokia Phone image. Actually that was a review on that particular product. I saw a tag at the bottom with a box to tick reading "I OWN THIS PRODUCT". As I had one, I ticked the box and a space pop up to jot down my comment or experience. I was not aware at that moment that I was actually writing a review, rather a quick review.
My first experience with a quick review was quite painful. The community points on my profile rose towards the negative side. I was not aware of that and was really happy to sea my points moving. I was distending myself from white. Anyway, I could realize my fault or drawback after 12 of Somewhat Helpful comments thereby losing 36 valued community points and immediately write a standard review to distract my readers from my quick review. My score changed its direction and finally I could generate trust among the other community members.
My View: Quick reviews are really good if we can utilize it well. Precise writing is really very difficult and those who are really good at this could sketch a product within the limit of 150 better than what others might take pages to describe. As time is valued a lot, quick reviews are great to get a precise idea about a product, provided they were written truthfully and skillfully.
In general, we could see the highlights in a quick review and these should cover more especially the main benefits and drawbacks along with a Judgement or Rate about the product. If some are really interested about the product, than they can refer to standard reviews about make, vital statistics, durability, quality guidelines, etc.
Most of the time, readers go for the quantity rather than the quality of the quick reviews and may turn a helpful review to somewhat helpful thereby reducing the community points of the writer of the review. It feels bad to see reduced score on our community points after so much of labour we put to generate scores. Therefore, most of the senior members prevent themselves from writing quickies. I have visited around three hundreds or more of quick reviews and of those, only about three were written by senior Ciao members. All were new comers. Probably, those who had presented the review commited the same mistake as I did.
My request to readers: Those who visit the quick reviews and comment them, please check whether you are benefitted with what they had written within limited words. Because they can't cover everything within that small space and it is obvious that they will miss something or the other. But whether the review includes the vital points or not should be considered while evaluating it.
My confession: I am not so bold to write my second Quick Review. So, I shall wait till I gather mastery over precise writing so as to compile up a helpful quickie.

I have heard a few complaints from members who take ages to write a review only to have it knocked off the new review list by a short review of only a few lines.
I myself have been guilty of this when i became a new member, as my reviews like a few other members at first have been short, due to not knowing what is expected of your review for a high rating. So for me i think the short review catagory is good, ... ...in writing review, but you also get an idea of what other members expect for a good rating.
As well as being good for a quick note about a product, you also get points for rating these short reviews and can read and rate them quicker than the long review, therefore your points add up if your trying to get to the next colour on your points list. I am glad to see the short reviews as some of them are interesting and straight to the point, of course ...

I would just like to write a review onquick reviews, something I am sure that many of have actually come across but have not written (or at least not that we would care to admit to though in any case). I am not in any way in favour of these, and I would just like to give my reasons as to why this so please listen. In terms of being in favour of writing a quick review, it does exactly what it says on the tin - it is quick, and therefore is not as ... ...it does also get you a quick point or two - but in my own opinion, writing a quick review is not enough as we shall see now. In my own mind, I have got this notion that Ciao is all about trying to encourage others in to using a product by writing a good review that people think that that product/ item/ service etc is the greatest thing since sliced bread; instant coffee, and Eastenders. But in order for that to happen, surely the review needs to ...

Are these quick reviews a good idea? Good question and I think that depending on how you look at the idea the answer can be different. I remain to be convinced. I have several issues with them and in relation to them and the impact they may have on ‘normal’ reviews.
They are a good way of just giving an opinion on a product in a quick and very easy way without having to write much. If the product or service for the matter is something you don’t ... ...good option. They would/will save time and effort but will they be of any use to a prospective buyer? I say no, not in the slightest! (At this point I have exceeded the short review size!)
The whole point of this site is to help make a buying decision and how can you give enough information in a quick review of up to 119 words to give a prospective buyer the first idea about a product? How can you give a full opinion? With some products there is ...

Hi to all Ciao users reading this review.
WHAT IS A QIUICK REVIEW?
Well you may already know what this is if you are already a Ciao user but for those of you that don't its a review but in a very short form, so for instance if you wrote about a product like the latest mobile phone or laptop, a quick review would consist of 20 words and not say very much and you don't really get much across about the product its self.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH WRITTING ... ...wrote my first review it was a quick one I did managed to get a small point across but its not good enough as you just cant get the product quality and recommendation across and the reception from others isn't to great either as they read a review to find out more on the product to research it and if it is for them.
WHAT I THINK TO THE QUICK REVIEW OPTION.....
Its not worth your time publishing a quick review as you don't get the credibility for ...

...is money can be gathered, but after joining has taken place there should either be something sent out to the new member or something they have to read to be made aware of some basic rules and also advice on review construction.
