Poetry the mirror of LIFE
Advantages: Understand more about Poetry Disadvantages: Nothing
What is Poetry?
Whoooahhh...,It has many definitions for as long as many poets evolved. They defined Poetry as the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.
Poetry is a lot of things to a lot of people.
I am not a poet but it does not mean poetry has no meaning to me. I have my own personal collaboration of my own poetry, noone could understand that because as they say it's about the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings, and what i feel could ...

TOUGH DISCIPLINE
Advantages: TESTS YOUR WRITING SKILLS Disadvantages: CAN BE TRICKY TO GET RIGHT!
The FOUR main things you need to look at are:
PLOT/STORY
Get that 'burning' idea down on paper. 'Just write it down'! Don't stop to think at this first stage. You've probably had this idea running around in your head for a while. Once it's on paper, with a very rough beginning, middle and end, you'll be thinking ' great what a relief. I'm on my way.
CHARACTERISATION:
Next, look at what characters' need to be in your story. What kind of characters' ... ...are character driven, so above all it's very important to have well developed rounded people in the story. Try not to think TOO much about the the things in life they enjoy. The essance of any story/script is CONFLICT! You're more likely to get this when a persons DISLIKES are brought up in your work. It's important to know your main characters' inside out. You should know even what they're THINKING. In real life, we often say something, but mean ...

Libraries are Great Places!
Advantages: Great Places Disadvantages: None
...than borrowing books.
My little library as so much going on I am amazed that the different types of activiteis for all age groups.
There is Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time for the babies and toddlers where they have a volunteer who comes in and sings nursery rhymes and stories. Also this is a good way for young mums to meet other mums.
Reading Group where each month they discuss what the book is all about and what they thought about it.
On a saturday ... ...glued to computers.
Recently the library set up a Knitting Group and i am looking forward in taking part so next month I am going along with my knitting needles and wool. There are computers there as well and very well used. If anyone has any problems with the using a computer once a week there is someone who comes in to help which is ideal.
The library also runs a Homelending Service for those who cannot come out to the library themselves and ...

Write and Survive in Magazines!
Advantages: Varied and Exciting Disadvantages: You need a thick skin
I used to write a column and features for women's UK magazines. I only stopped because I was commissioned to write a radio script. But I had (and still don't have) any special training or friends in the business. I happened to send in an idea that appealed to the features editor of the magazine.
So if I can do it - so can you!
Here is some practical advice on getting commissioned and getting paid (that big stinky bugbear)
SELLING THE IDEA
Some ... ...that harassed and overworked editors (yes they are - really!) are less likely to give you a commission that way. If they have to make a snap decision it's far more likely to be a 'no'. Find out their email address. Don't send your precious idea to editorial@blah, even if that's the 'contact' address given. It's not hard to find out the features editor's name. Always send your idea to a person. WHO ARE YOU WRITING FOR?
Take a quick look at the magazine ...
