Memorex DCD6000

Advantages: Good quality recording, low failure rate, cheap
Disadvantages: No boxes

...No one is going to turn down the chance of a free collection of MP3s are they? Not if they are sound of mind or like the tunes on the little silver disc. So when it comes to getting those lovely little tunes from your home PC (or work for that matter) into a format that you can play on your hi-fi, you need a good CD. I have experimented for about 18 months with different brands and have now come up with a winner. The winning product? Memorex CD-R80. Why? Well, I have tried them all, (Sony, Kodak, Verbatim,PC World Own Brand) and this one beats them all hands down. Firstly, Their size. The ones I use , The CD-R80 are 80 minutes of pure uncompressed Music. Thats nearly 13 hours of MP3s!!! Normally, the 74 minute CDs are long enough for your needs but you will find more and more record companies... Read review

...I'm sure just about everyone has heard of the name Memorex, though most likely due to the never ending need for good quality hi-fi or video cassettes. Well, there's now also a variety of CD media available from the same makers. Ever since I brought my first CD Writer, I have been plagued with an array of problems, the first being, "Please insert a disk with more space", or something very similar dependent upon the software I use at any given time. The second problem, and this one is a real pain, "BUFFER UNDERRUN ERROR". At one point I was wasting blank media like there's no tomorrow, but as time and experience showed, it all came down to inadequate quality of the media itself. Having always been a fan of Memorex quality in the past, I decided to try out the blank CDR's in their range. My first choice was the 1x - 16x high... Read review

Advantages: Memorex rules: They produce affordable, high-quality discs.
Disadvantages: Most other brands just don't do it for me.

...things didn't last for five playbacks before they started skipping, hissing, and breaking down. "Forget this!" I said as I tossed the worthless discs into the trash can and went to shop for myself. Wal-Mart is notorious for not carrying a wide selection of products - or so is the case with the location fifteen miles from my house. We're a tiny hick community, so who cares if we can get our hands on decent high-tech products or not? Right. I looked around in the Electronics department and found the cheap Teon discs that Mom had brought home. "These can't be the only ones they've got," I muttered. I turned around and, on the OTHER side of the aisle, spotted several other brands - all located just above my eye level!
